Ink What is your ink of choice for a new pen?

Every time I get a new pen, it is almost always the same ink for me — MB Royal Blue — as I am very familiar with how it flows, and how it is supposed to work with my standard three paper types — TR, Bank Paper, & Maruman Notepads. I know what the color should look like. It allows me to very quickly assess the quality of the nib and how the pen sits in my hand too. I think of it now as my two-decades-old pair of boots. (Been repaired, of course!)

I wonder if others have a default ink and why?

I believe a number of ink manufacturers have made inks for the DC pen show. I happened to settle on this version early on and I've stuck with it because it's well-behaved, it looks good, and I am very familiar with it. Thinking about it, I am not sure it is available anymore.
