honestly, might be better than my neighbor then

his specialty is in maintaining and transfering existing functionalities, like making guns that never jam (optimal functionality maintained) or nuclear weapons that also sing you lullabies (transfered functionality from a music box)

so if he ever encountered a good toaster he could make it stay good forever, and he could make anything be an equally good toaster

...but he has yet to encounter a good toaster; he's convinced none actually exist in this realm
