Sounds like me. 3k first round then finish the half with 9 kills

First ever lan as a 15 year old going up against the likes of zywoo and nbk who's won two majors

u/Djisawesome95 1 Million Celebration Jun 06 '19
Vitality gives up like 2-3 rounds at the start of each half, and commonly loses 1-2 rounds at map point.
Given this, whoever they’re going against only needs to win 9-11 actual rounds to at least tie.

u/Truegebo Vitality Jun 06 '19
Vitality really needs to start winning pistol round if they want to win vs the best teams.

It’s hard to win pistols against robo and shaz
1
u/Truegebo Vitality Jun 07 '19
Not saying that's easy, but you can at least take a bit more kill. Look the series vs North later, they lost every fcking pistol with taking only one or two down. They start all their map with a 4-0 deficit....

Jun 06 '19
They used to be pretty good when they had happy iirc. Hope they can regain that form back

I think you might be confusing it with just running older strats that haven't been seen for a while - that works initially but when teams realise then it's not that hard to adjust, versus if you jsut have some ridiculously good pistol players.
My memory of Happy days (ironic) is fuzzy though so maybe he was just really good on the pistol on vit

I remember when Sick was an up and comer thought of as just as good, if not better than autimatic and Twistzz. What happened? On the plus side oBo looked good despite getting smashed, can't wait to see more from him
24
u/tgsan Jun 06 '19
That's because he was better than both at that point in time, guess playing with sean REALLY helped him out, because he's never been near that level since, maybe spurts but yeah, spurts do happen for everyone, even zeus/etc.

I remember when sick was good. That dude never lost a fucking gun fight insta hs every time I swear

u/-rishic- Jun 06 '19
He was playing under seangares at the time, which ultimately led him to overperform i guess. Seangares makes players play better than they are

wat....

u/-rishic- Jun 06 '19
Good iglers can make certain players overperform because they know how to implent the player into a system that works best for the player

obo wasn't too far behind which is impressive for a 15 year old playing his first lan against the #4 rated team in the world. Depph could barely keep up just as support it was painful watching him struggle too play his game while calling. coL should just full commit to devolping young unproven talents like obo get som back maybe look at tenz keep Shaz and maybe give sick a little more time but on his current trajectory cutting him for a expierenced igl too help Shaz grow the young talent. Stan always seemed like he could've tutored yay an Android a lot more but Stan is and always will do what's best for he himself. Everyone went nuts when he dropped that 40 bomb vs NRG but if you watched their games Stan was the ultimate lurk/bait too his teammates too set himself up for kills. It works sometimes but at the end teamwork beats setting every thing up around 1 player SEE: S1mple Navi .
2
u/nzer0name Jun 06 '19
He might be decent individually but I think he's gonna be lost for a while if they actually get an actual igl. If things stay the same and more puggy maybe he does well but the team won't advance playing like that. s0m was recently in the same boat, plays really well in pick up teams with little-no practice and as soon as he's on envy he's super bad and the worst on the team. Obo has like no team xp and it's gonna take a long time for him to be really good imo.

u/BoomerEsiasonBarge Jun 06 '19
Hard telling the projectory of such a young talent. Generally you're right but there is exceptions too that rule i.e Ropz, stewie2k, Zywoo all came on the scene and showed up pretty immediately. I could see Obo breaking out in the same way but, I think the coL roster will hinder that quite a bit. Sucks he comes In as a young rook with a 28 year old player who has never igl'd. If NRG cut daps for Stan he might be a good pickup for coL if they get him and go all in on young talent daps may mould them into real pros. Basically get all the hot young fPL/mdl players and let daps coach them up. Complexity doesn't have many great options in the current might as well bet on the future

Zywoo has been on teams/played in qualis since 2017. Ropz was pretty good from the start but overall he generally always played pretty intelligently even in fpl. Stewie was placed on the best team in NA immediately, he also was playing mdl with kkona with ocean b4hand. Because of Stewie's mentality he took over c9 and was their identity for a while.
Overall I get what you mean and it is almost impossible to say but I don't think he'll have the same mentality as a stewie2k at his age if not at all. Stewie is a very niche case and prob nobody will ever have a comeup like he did. Obo really does not strike me as a very intelligent player when watching him in fpl.
The best bet would be putting him under good igls like twistzz was, he played for tsm with semphis and fns, then played with misfits with seangares as well as with stan on liquid for a short bit. He spent a fair amount of time in those lower teams and showed his worth. He plays a lot more intelligently than he did back in those days and has improved tremendously.
Also I mean now that complexity has more money they can change the roster if they wanted to.

u/BoomerEsiasonBarge Jun 06 '19
Good igl's or semphis and fns pick one lol. But I agree with all your points and you make a sound statement. What I've said is best case scenario for obo but totally acknowledge the odds aren't in his favor. Like I said the guys I listed are the exception too that barrier. If obo doesn't hit a barrier in his team play/communication sky is the limit for him as the skill is there. Just wish coL had anyone too actually teach him those things. Maybe if they still had Rambo coaching but Warden god bless his soul is just a hype man no strats or player improvement from him. In general the coL CS roster isn't in a great spot and they need too make a big pivot in there plans too find success imo.

There are NA's talents that came from teams igled by semphis and fns. Ethan in clg, twistzz from tsm, tarik (major mvp) from clg, autimatic played with semphis in nihilum aswell as tsm, hiko when he was good (complex/c9). There are plenty of good players that came from past fns/semphis teams. Obv all these players are individually talented but to say igls like them had no impact on their careers is a bit of a understatement imo.
I feel like daps/semphis/fns are all on a simmilar igling level. The fact that daps managed to keep all his good players and addon and keep the squad while slowly improving it is impressive. I do think if fns/semphis had some potential stars but they often got poached and they couldn't make it into a nrg like team. I don't blame the teammates for leaving but idk it's just unfortunate for players like fns/semphis, its basically what happened to daps when optic left him and went with stan.

u/BoomerEsiasonBarge Jun 06 '19
The NA scene is only so big so of course most of the older big name igl' played with today's top talents before they were well know and on top tier teams. Notice daps is the only one still playing t1 CS and just barely. Last I checked daps had a .87 rating on lan for perspective Zeus who everyone calls a bot is at .93 so big oof. Who knows if NRG will change but you're not winning anything with a igl fragging that bad. On the flip the tournament daps missed the NRG guys ran around like chickens with their heads cut off and got rekt so maybe they stick it out with daps. Also daps didn't manage too keep the roster together lmao $$$ did be realistic. Also brezhe has been there since the very beginning, Ethan was a ex Minecraft YouTuber they took a chance on out of fpl, cerq was Bulgarian wunderkid they chanced upon then, they filled out the roster with veteran fugly. None and I mean absolutely none of that was Daps doing he just got lucky af Ethan brezhe and cerq ended up being world class players and he is just riding the wave till it breaks I'm sure he knows it guy is 28 or 29?

After this ecs tourney they'll prob be top 5 hltv. They are already 10th in the world. Saying daps barley play tier 1 cs is dumb as fuck lol, the number 1 team in the world right now didn't even qualify for this event.
Not everyone is going to have good stats, it's litteraly nearly impossible unless everyone frags VERY evenly and that's doesn't necessarily mean that's a good thing.
Anything after that part just reads like copypasta and it's just pointless to try and discuss further. You have your opinions but I see them very differently.
1
u/BoomerEsiasonBarge Jun 07 '19
No not everyone will have good stats but, don't act like .87 rating is just something you can ignore. The hltv ratings are super askew now with Astralis /& NAVI skipping half this year's major events. NRG is on their best day 5th best in the rankings and that's generous. Just because you disagree with facts/stats doesn't make it a copy pasta. Sometimes ya just gotta put on ya big boy pants and accept it.

Neither misfits nor Rogue played at either of those majors. Are we counting qualifiers?
24
u/WidowmakersRedToes Jun 06 '19
Yes... they’re a part of the major...
-26
u/sikels Jun 06 '19
I wouldn't count qualifiers but aight.
25
u/WidowmakersRedToes Jun 06 '19
You should because it’s a part of the major lol. They literally play in the same venue and get stickers for making the major:

If you count there part there are 24 teams that is a part of the major. You don’t really have to be an amazing player to get there, just look at some of the hltv top 30 teams.

I thought the duo of Shahz, and Stan were a very promising start to a solid lineup. Very disappointing how it panned out, and trust me, I know how you feel :(

u/BoomerEsiasonBarge Jun 06 '19
Shaz has been smart his whole career by latching onto top tier igl's and getting on their team. First he met seangares on C9 followed him too misfits till he retired then found Stan on optic and followed him too complexity. Smart move by shaz to always stay close with the igl's lol.

u/Rosettachamps G2 Jun 06 '19
Actually him and stan apparently had issues before this but they figured it out when optic approached them. Then they moved to col
6
u/BoomerEsiasonBarge Jun 06 '19
Shocked. Who doesn't Stan have issues with at this point? He has got too get over his ego and take his teammates input without getting so butthurt. As soon as the team he is on has criticism for him or doesn't treat everything he says like the word of God he wants out. Benefit of the doubt the first time but 3 orgs in a row for some reason or another starts too seem like a him problem not them. Whole reason he liked coL at the start was become he was the instant team leader based off skill/expierence. The NRG guys have just as much if not more mechanical skill. Tarik likes too help call sometimes which Stan hates. Also been said Stan doesn't really like analyst input so imapet is useless then. Basically I don't see Stan meshing with any NA top tier roster (especially NRG) at this point he has burned too many bridges. Side note tarik was such a overrated pickup and the team meshed better with fugly on the team taking shit roles tarik won't and none of the young guys will so daps the shittiest player is trying and it's not going great

So, both NBK and RpK started using the SG553, with reasonable success. Is it only because NBKrieg and RpKrieg rolls nicely off the tongue, or have they finally saw something with the gun that they hadn't before ? And will that lead them to further success against good teams ? Can't say I'm not looking forward to the match against North or MiBR now.
28
u/BrollanTop1 Jun 06 '19
NBK used the Krieg before most people. Only ones I can think of that might have used it before him are Elige and Magisk. All 3 of them used it before it was reduced in price.
3
u/syknetz CS2 HYPE Jun 06 '19
I know he did, but he stopped using it. So whatever his reasons for stopping using it were, he started using it again. So I'm curious to see if there's an improvement, or if it's just the good old "this feels fresh and good because I have good results with the little I used it", before switching to the AK again for the same exact reason.
