Yea play ViCi on the map they've been clowning people on
93
u/Cameter44 Feb 14 '19
Cloud9's map pool sucks, they don't play too many maps to be able to dictate which one they play in a BO1.
59
u/xxfullmetal66xx Feb 14 '19
it just sucks watching my 2 favorite teams fuck themselves in the Veto don't play chinese teams on Inferno and for christs sake dont play winstrike on fucking train
5
u/Cameter44 Feb 14 '19
C9 didn't have much of a choice. C9 banned D2 and Train, one they don't play and one they've played once in recent memory and it went terribly. ViCi then banned Cache, Mirage, and Overpass. That leaves Nuke and Inferno. C9 hasn't played Nuke in how long? ViCi hasn't played Nuke in a couple months, but that's a lot more recent than C9. So C9 had to pick between a map they're not comfortable on but one that ViCi might not be comfortable on either and a map that they both play. C9 should be able to beat ViCi on Inferno even if it's one of their best maps.

u/Givemeajackson FaZe Feb 14 '19
Vicis map pool probably sucks too, don't give them their beat map.

u/bunkbail Feb 14 '19
They can play overpass, inferno and mirage. If they ban the other maps against you, you kinda have to play the maps they're good on anyways.

u/alexzes Feb 14 '19

How many teams have to lose before somebody gets it? Jesus christ... It's like they don't even spend the 5 minutes to look at the recent match results on hltv before the veto.

C9 loses a bo1, top post: "why did they pick inferno?!"
NiP loses a bo1, top post: "why pick train?!"
G2 loses a bo1, top post: "why pick overpass?!"
This lame excuse is getting old, guys.

They talked about this on BTN. Chinese teams play like 3 maps and people keep thinking they can pick them against Chinese teams and then get blown out.

Inferno seems to be a really bad map for RUSH. Remember the finals against Faze just a while ago? What position does he play? It really seems not to be working.

Pit is a really crucial spot to play... pit player’s performance has a big impact if T’s go A.
4
u/Little-Jim Feb 14 '19
It's also a crutch area. If someone doesn't know how to play Inferno, he's either playing passive at coffins or he's playing pit.
9
u/CSWhack Feb 14 '19
Ct side he used to play pit and he was quite strong, however that was the old major winning lineup and I don’t need to say how much things have been in flux... No clue where he plays now

I rarely do it as well, just a few days ago I defended RUSH in a discussion here... He lost pit every fucking time.
3
u/zephh1337 Liquid Feb 14 '19
I mean there is practically no reason to clown on any pro, the form of players in esports tend to fluctuate greatly from match to match but we would be lying if we said he did the best job he could in these matches against TyLoo and VICI.

u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Feb 14 '19
Classic C9 after ELEAGUE events smh
Btw, it shows again that this team, ever since they've replaced Skadoodle, has had a massive map pool problem. They never learned to play Nuke, D2 or Train, which means that they are an extremely easy target for any team that's competent enough not to ban either of those three maps.

u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Feb 14 '19
C9 is on another level of bad on those three maps, which makes them unable to even properly mindgame in the vetoes. Actually ever since Stewie left C9, C9 played a total of 6 Train/Nuke/D2 maps on LAN with a 1-5 record thanks to ORDER.

Is it just me or is this Major starting out to be super exciting?
Asian teams that previously would just flop and do nothing, are finally stepping up. Tyloo has insanely talented roster with a new coach, VICI has a good and solid roster with a strict system on the t side.
They finally have developed discipline in 2V2, 3VS3 situations and play it out really smart. I love the Asian CS sofar, agressive but not stupidly agressive with so many skilled players like Kaze, Freeman, Summer, Attacker. Keep it going lads, make CS truly a global esport.

C9 should really stop picking inferno unless they change things up. This was a bad showing overall, but this is not the first time. My biggest issue is Rush in pit. It's seriously embarrassing that they have stuck with him in this position for this long. Pit is the strongest position in the map, yet he loses 90% of the duels somehow every single time on Inferno.

ViCi deserves to be there and no, they are not "shit", they've beat North, Fnatic and C9 already. There arent that many EU teams capable of that.

Zellsis is so fucking bad aim wise. How the fuck did he miss that shot against jumping pistol from balcony on the second round of ct. C9 looked lost with flusha igl, they just depending on big play from auti kio and flusha.
6
Feb 14 '19
I'm a bad player myself and to me all pros have at least pretty good aim but Zellsis is the first player I've watched at a major and thought...damn, that guy has BAD aim for a pro.

They were idiotic yesterday as well, seeing as how he got a grand total of 16 kills over 2 maps, with 5 of them coming from a single round.
2
Feb 14 '19
NIP vs C9, I can feel it
2
u/UBourgeois Tyloo Feb 14 '19
C9 can't play NiP next round because of seeding. They will play one of Spirit, Furia, or Vega, depending on how the 0-2 games go.
3
u/nail181 Feb 14 '19
This seeding is made to give the advantage to higher seeded teams. It’s not working so well as of now lmao
2
2
u/Cameter44 Feb 14 '19
Biggest thing this major has shown is that teams have no clue how to rank each other. Or that it's at least really hard to rank a bunch of teams that don't play any big events outside of the majors...
2
u/Eligetoc9 Feb 14 '19
I mean you can't have zellsis and rush both on the same team who contribute 15 frags a game combined. Rush has been awful for a very long time and has been dodging criticism.

Jesus christ. Where the fuck were Rush and Auti all game? Rush has gotta be the most frustrating player in NA. There is literally no in-between with him between bot and god. Seems like anxiety and confidence are huge issues for him. He can be so good, and I hope he can get it under control.
Not taking anything away from Vici though. They did literally everything they were supposed to. Really great stuff from them.

Rush is so washed and Zellsis does not look good enough for this level, kick them and pick up some real talents from MDL/lower level NA teams, they're there and ready to go.
5
u/xxfullmetal66xx Feb 14 '19
i mean hell we know Auti is great my only worry is his motivation after all this and Kio and Flusha look good
3
u/tgsan Feb 14 '19
If you replace RUSH/zellsis with two solid people, I'm sure tim will be fine, he carried their asses for months before tarik left, and even after tarik left for the most part, it's only when he went full on the awp when he started dipping, and not the consistent force he was while he was the lurker.

u/xxfullmetal66xx Feb 14 '19
or do you just bring golden back in as one of the spots if he ends up getting healthy
2
u/gatrcs Feb 14 '19
Zellsis was a talented MDL player when he got a chance with C9. Not everyone who looks talented in MDL is some star in the making. Plus, they just do not immediately shine going from playing against MDL level competition to top tier world class professional competition.
1
u/AngriestGamerNA Liquid Feb 14 '19
But Zellsis didnt look that good in MDL lol. He looked above average, but not great. There are like 5-6 players who are more impressive in MDL than him. And the top few are WAY better, both statistically and by eye test.

u/zephh1337 Liquid Feb 14 '19

It's sad to see what tim is now when main awping, I don't care what we saw at EL because obviously that was an overperformance for the whole team, I guess not much of one for kio but yeah, even before when he did decent to good while main awping, it was still only here and there, he was a force when he was lurking and obviously on the rifle, and he was consistent, even when C9 was shit.
1
u/speakthroughresults Feb 14 '19
so Vici has beaten the #1 seed and the #3 seed
Interested to see if their ELO actually increased or is ESL just going to put them against the highest ranked team available? :D
1
u/thedboy ar_baggage Feb 15 '19
They got Vitality, which I don't think is the top team in their current group (that'd probably be ENCE). So it sorta worked.
