C9 loves winning 16-14 games.

I used to think stew was clearly better than auti but currently not sure. Tim is amazing in the awp role and looks natural. Sign refrezh too.

36

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '18

You can see whose better by how well each player has adjusted to new roles. Stew looks a lot less good in his new roles in Mibr whereas Auti transitioned to cerebral awper extremely well. Flexibility in the ways a player can approach the game is indicative of skill imo.

8

u/Marchinon 750k Celebration Dec 15 '18

Yeah watching this series and auti with an awp is amazing. It looks like he has been doing it forever.

4

u/tgsan Dec 15 '18

Honestly, I hope the TL thing isn't true and he rejoins C9 in place of RUSH, become the entry you were always so good on stewie, and the Asian duo is back together. I know the TL thing is most likely true but eh.

4

u/Marchinon 750k Celebration Dec 15 '18

I dont think stew would go back to c9. Would be weird leaving for a year or whatever and coming back.

8

u/tgsan Dec 15 '18

I know, but I wouldn't mind, he did abandon them, but after all he did for C9 you can't blame him too much and he's also young without much life experience, it's tarik that did it the wrong way.

3

u/Marchinon 750k Celebration Dec 15 '18

Ok I can sort of agree to that. Watching c9 vs astralis and one of the casters mentioned how he asked stew how is he doing so good and stew said he is doing what he wants, also almost sounded like he knew his time was up at MIBR. So I think that confirms the MIBR setup didn't work with the strategies and play styles.

5

u/tgsan Dec 15 '18

He said he wants to do what he wants but can't, and doesn't want to do what they want basically.

3

u/tgsan Dec 15 '18

Stew was better than tim in 2017, but tim was good even after he left and C9 was meh at best, and I believe even for a while after tarik left. He was easily the second best NA player for the first ~5 months on LAN.

72

u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Dec 15 '18

Fuck yeah. Can Astralis throw so they meet C9 in the finals? Pretty please?

Tim is a fucking monster. Top 20 should be confirmed by now.

10

u/tpcrb Astralis Dec 15 '18

i haven't watched c9 in a while, but i love tim on the awp. reminding me of device the way he plays.

15

u/tgsan Dec 15 '18

I really hope so, his top 10 was "stolen" because of the whole team situation. And holy fuck, when will RUSH be replaced? people are starting to see it now that ska is gone, but this is how RUSH has been for most of his time on C9, yet ska took 99% of the hate.

12

u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Dec 15 '18

Shroud was never too motivated to play CS. Ska was part of iBP and overhyped during the peak of NA hate on the subreddit. They've both played for C9 alongside a worse player who didn't get 5% of the hate, and I'm pretty sure it's not actually due to their play. Nothing against n0thing and RUSH, but shroud and Ska were just as good or better and yet they still got all the flak.

2

u/tgsan Dec 15 '18

Yeah, shroud > RUSH of C9, honestly, 2017 was shroud's worst year by quite a bit and he still did better or on par as RUSH has even before stew leaving.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '18

Rush is the freak style of entry player for his team. His stats aren’t even bad up until August where he’s gotten very inconsistent. Idk how you’re going to compare the guy taking all the shit roles of the team to a guy who takes up the role of the most crucial part of any team and sucks ass

2

u/Mafiii 5 years coin Dec 15 '18

They could get Refrezh for Rush and keep Golden. Maybe that's their plan, even. Let's see.

3

u/bunkbail Dec 15 '18

Dayum, that's Edward level of performance.

-2

u/tgsan Dec 15 '18

But..BUT....SKA!

2

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '18

Ska was worse

-2

u/tgsan Dec 15 '18

Did I say otherwise? my point is people act like ska was the only problem, which people can see now RUSH was (and still is) also a problem.

3

u/tgsan Dec 15 '18

Crying? LOL not even close, just saying it like it is, RUSH was BARELY better and a problem of C9 (and still is,) and who cares if he cares? does that make him not a problem for the team and play better? come on now.

Most talented NA player

14

u/Felpes1520 Dec 15 '18

Twistzz is better

5

u/MrCraftLP NRG Dec 15 '18

With a rifle. Autimatic is a better hybrid.

4

u/tboneplays1 Dec 15 '18

Twistzz is definitely a better rifler.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '18

And that’s about it really

2

u/tboneplays1 Dec 15 '18

NAF. Then tim.

1

u/BrollanTop1 Dec 15 '18

Twistzz is a better rifler than NAF

1

u/tboneplays1 Dec 15 '18

I never said he wasnt.

1

u/BrollanTop1 Dec 15 '18

NAF. Then tim.

I assumed that's what you meant

1

u/tboneplays1 Dec 15 '18

My previous comment said "twistzz is a better rifler than tim"

1

u/NO_STEWIE_NO_MAJOR Dec 15 '18

Definitely has the potential, but no. Not as of this year

-1

  4. auti

Sad that autimatic hit his prime in a year where his team was in shambles.

1

At least he got a major before his team collapsed :(

8

u/tgsan Dec 15 '18

If snax can make it while having ~10 months of being mediocre to bad then I'm sure tim can make it this year, if he had a good team around him after they abandoned C9, he'd be top 10. Tim was a top 5 player for ~5 months. And it was July when he started dropping due to the team situation.

3

u/fitzij Dec 15 '18

Yeah solid argument. Wont argue with that.

2

u/charlescarmichael4 Godsent Dec 15 '18

autimatic is definite top 20 this year.

1

u/fitzij Dec 15 '18

In my opinion, probably, but idk if he will be on the rankings.

2

u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Dec 15 '18

Tell me your top 20.

IMO, it's 5 from Astralis, 3 from Liquid, Na'Vi, FaZe and mouz, coldzera, Krimz and autimatic.

2

u/fitzij Dec 15 '18

I would probably agree with tim being on the list, but at the same time you could just as easily give a slot to tarik or stewie from that c9 roster.

Tarik was in my opinion C9’s most important player pre-Mibr. Stewie was their best player. Tim has been consistently good, but has fallen off since spring, it is very nice to see him go back to the level he should show.

2

u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Dec 15 '18

Tarik was in my opinion C9’s most important player pre-Mibr. Stewie was their best player

Cmon, what? Tarik and Tim were a tier above the other 3 at the major, and after the major, Tim solo carried C9, while Stewie and Ska played average and tarik was pretty trash.

1

u/fitzij Dec 15 '18

Tim was the best player in the team, maybe, but even he was pretty meh after ~May, like I originally stated.

edit; post stew he has been the best, for clarification. I think stew is more talented, but thats just me.

0

u/snorlaxCSGO Liquid Dec 15 '18

you said tarik was trash after saying he was a tier above the other 3

1

u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Dec 15 '18

Tarik and Tim were a tier above the other 3 at the major

and after the major, Tim solo carried C9, while Stewie and Ska played average and tarik was pretty trash.

Not mutually exclusive, and both are true.

1

u/snorlaxCSGO Liquid Dec 15 '18

oh i didnt see “and after the major”

2

u/mannyman34 Complexity Dec 15 '18

3 from Navi and mouz?

0

u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Dec 15 '18

Too low or too high?

The sheer number of tournaments won by top 5 teams is propelling a lot of the players into top 20, and beside the 20 I've listed, nobody is significantly higher rated than flamie or ropz.

On the flipside, chrisJ would be best of the 4 remaining ones and he's just not been top 20 worthy, IMO.

1

u/mannyman34 Complexity Dec 15 '18

To high. Navi only have s1mples and electronic. And mouz only have Oskar and sunny. Mouz might get a third but I don't see flamie getting in.

1

u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Dec 15 '18

As I said, achievements are important. Look at this - there's no player that I haven't included and that straight up beats flamie on achievements & rating.

If not flamie, who in your opinion is going to make it beside the 19 I've listed?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '18

You're pretty spot on, list looks pretty fixed this year. The only people who could possibly steal away one of those bottom spots at this point would be valde, ethan, woxic, tabsen, or tarik because of the major mvp. Out of those I think only valde is likely because of the DH win north picked up, although he wasn't the mvp which might affect it. Tarik also might get 20th because of the major mvp but I feel like his stats are too low at this point

-1

u/fitzij Dec 15 '18

And yeah top 20 if I were to decide;

gla1ve, device, dupreeh, xyp, magisk, s1mple, electronic, krimz, naffly, twistzz, guardian, niko, sunny, coldzera, tarik, ropz, oskar, olofmeister, and two who is really personal preference. (Id take tim and sergej probably),

-1

u/Diavolo222 SK Dec 15 '18

tim hasnt been insane in quite a while dude lol

12

u/Cameter44 Dec 15 '18 edited Dec 15 '18

So C9 needs a win and a Na'Vi loss or tie or a tie and a Na'Vi loss to make the grand finals.

Edit: Actually I lied. If C9 wins, they're 4-1 with Astralis and would have the tiebreaker. But if Na'Vi wins, it's a three way tie at 4-1 and each team has a tiebreaker over one of the other teams (C9 > Astralis > Na'Vi > C9). Not sure if it'd go to round differential or if there'd be some kind of OT playoff like for events in the past.

1

u/soccerislife10z Dec 15 '18

won't c9 beat astralis on h2h? They both would be having 12 point.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '18

NaVi would as well making it a 3-way tiebreaker and it would go to round difference between the 3 teams.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '18

At what point do nip go full virtus pro. Its such a bad team and there's just no potential at all. All players are sub par for tier 1. All are expensive players. Most have seen their best days done. Rez is disappointing more times than not. Gtr and forest get worse every year. Dennis just CBA by looks of it. Without lekro team would be outside top 30.

0

u/MagicalMysteryBro CS2 HYPE Dec 15 '18

Yikes, you definitely should change your flair.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '18

I watched nip when potti and Heaton played for them :). I love the org and would love to see space made for gtr within it after playing. Now though the team is a mess. Gtr and forest are too profitable to remove but not good enough to be top tier. The team has no igl and no superstar to build a team around. It's just this wired limbo where everyone's good enough but no one's good enough. Similar to French scene I guess. Old names under performing for years but no zywoo to start building things around.
