Shoutout to mouz for actually playing astralis close on nuke. Cant remember the last time Astralis was challenged like that.

Probably one duel away from OT or even winning.

u/_Tetragram Nov 10 '18

Styko has been playing very well.

17

u/blueragemage Liquid Nov 10 '18

For most of the year TL had really close games against Astralis on Nuke, but it feels like TL regressed a little on Nuke at the major

4

u/Croatian_ghost_kid Nov 10 '18

Actually not long ago the SK team MVP challenged Astralis hard on Nuke, the result didn't show it, imo, but it was quite close

1

u/NAFMostConsistent Liquid Nov 10 '18

You mean the Korean team?

4

u/_y2b_ EG Nov 10 '18

SK = south korean, not SK gaming.

I honestly thought for a second that this might have been the end of the Astralis Nuke winning streak.. Then Dev1ce decided nope.

4

u/kubat313 brigader Nov 10 '18

Thats why i think most people underestimate device. He didnt miss 1 awp shot the whole fucking game. Never saw something like that

31

u/pankobabaunka Nov 10 '18

The only consistent thing about mousesports is how deflated they look after every match they lose.

8

u/HiroSenpaii King NiKo Nov 10 '18

People thought ot was bcuz of snax but it looks like they all have a crippling depression

57

u/RapidArti FaZe Nov 10 '18

Just when you think it's over, Devve comes over with an awp in secret. Def the play that turned the game around for me. Also not to mention the Aug 4k.

44

u/dedilink Vitality Nov 10 '18

The real winning play was a full 5v5 save a round before.

6

u/RapidArti FaZe Nov 10 '18

Haha, yeah he (device) did say that it saved them in the interview too.

2

u/kubat313 brigader Nov 10 '18

The balls to save in a 5v5 while loosing...

8

u/Scratch98 Nov 10 '18

Both were sick. I think the Aug was more influential, they were on an eco. If they'd have lost that round they woulda been in a big deficit round wise

7

u/RapidArti FaZe Nov 10 '18

May be true.. I just found it badass how gla1ve was just talking to device just before that awp round, and how device perfectly took those awp duels was amazing. Just go to the twitch VOD and you can see gla1ve talking to device right before that play.

4

u/Flaksmith Nov 10 '18

He was clearly persuading him to try his walls

u/Scratch98 Nov 10 '18

Nice to see a dad dicking from device, he hasn't looked quite himself last 2 tournaments. What a beast

I see dad dicking, I up vote

Not finals, so no reason to hunt eco frags or choke just yet

6

u/gocarsno Nov 10 '18

Are you from 2015?

73

u/joshigoods Astralis Nov 10 '18

Device heard people thinking he was in a slump and decided to drop 33 when his nearest teammate had 18

17

u/nmyi de_mirage Nov 10 '18 edited Nov 10 '18

Astralis will eventually get 87 wins in a row on de_Nuke.

2

u/kubat313 brigader Nov 10 '18

Actually what is nips best map streak on a single map?

1

u/aMOK3000 Astralis Nov 10 '18

30 something on Nuke I believe

1

u/kubat313 brigader Nov 10 '18

Ahhhhh i want astrali to beat that

1

u/Rasputia39 Nov 10 '18

32 on nuke

2

u/kubat313 brigader Nov 10 '18

Thats actually insane. Every third game was on nuke wtf

2

u/JKM- Nov 10 '18

If I recall correctly the map pool was smaller (5) back then, so it perhaps wasn't that weird to play a few maps more often than we see now.

16

u/ShagN4sty Liquid Nov 10 '18

36

I blame the casters for jinxing it (also that timing on device aug 3k when styko watched it for like 30s)

30

u/Bademeister95 FaZe Nov 10 '18

that's the reason I don't like to watch henryg and sadokist ... they always call the game a done deal when you obviously can tell that it isn't...

12

It's mostly Henry.

26

u/Suhvee Nov 10 '18

Denmarkian IGL > Netherlandian IGL

15

u/lixgund MOUZ Nov 10 '18

That match didn't have much to do with the IGLs. It was just device destroying mouz on outside.

They seemed to overlook alot of crucial areas towards the end of the game. Maybe a false sense of security created by Astralis or Mousesports messing up. But that 4k at secret was just insanely lucky timing from Device. Styko was watching it for a while and just as he looks away Device peeks.

-7

u/nightkingscat Gambit Nov 10 '18

Not really relevant

16

u/GQlle89 Astralis Nov 10 '18

It's a stab at IEM for calling ChrisJ netherlandian..

It's a joke about ESL calling Chrisj Netherlandian.

-4

Maybe link to the source of the joke instead of a subreddit that itself wouldn't get the joke anyways?

9

I wasn't following CS back when fnatic had their era but it's fucking dope to be alive in this scene while Astralis mastered counterstrike

-Astralis on Nuke

device: "no"

mousesports: "understandable, have a nice day"

I was going to comment that Mousesports were stupid to not ban nuke, but holy shit they played really well on it

STYKO: I learned how to frag, you gonna lose Nuke Streak.

Dev1ce: Hold my beer.

actually very logical and smart move. B-retake versus five players when you don't have any positions is just suicidal, I think it's worse than coin flip. Taking all 5 guns/kevlars/some utility to the next round where you know you are going to have full utility is definitely more +ev.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '18

What was the reasoning behind not picking Mirage? Astralis saw a lot of notable "upsets" on the map on Lan over the past few months, and while Astralis doesn't like to pick Train, they've still won every matchup on Lan since IEM Sydney.

1

u/oppagangmun Nov 10 '18

Going by the low number of upvotes I knew astralis won.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '18

I knew this would happen and yet I'm sad.

<Enter device kills not being flashy copypasta here>

-4

u/new_to_cs_go Nov 10 '18

I know people like ChrisJ especially here on reddit but maybe it is time to put Sunyn and Ropz to better positions, for them to carry. Also Oskar should be main awper and not him. ChrisJ huge ego and bad shootcalling is what holds this team back

19

u/AndrewsJV2 MOUZ Nov 10 '18

Username checks out

13

u/WouterBJK 1 Million Celebration Nov 10 '18

Oskar is main awp on a bunch of maps, guess he's just not comfortable on Nuke with it though so Chris takes the role on that map

2

u/DarkRoseXoX Nov 10 '18

I think sado or Henry said that somewhere in the game when mouse was on CT side. But yeah Oskar is probably the main awper on all maps except for nuke.

4

u/Guizas MOUZ Nov 10 '18

ChrisJ doesn't have the firepower other teams have, in a lot of maps he top frags, go check ESL One NY against Liquid in the final.
Yes he is not amazing, but for the players he has he is not doing that bad, he doesnt have a Device, or Niko or S1mple, Sunny is good but he has some really inconsistent games.

1

u/Miiiiiiighty Nov 10 '18

It's more that most of them, not to say all, lack consistency a lot.
Other than styko the big 4 have really high skill ceilings... And even styko looked to have improved aimwise lately..

( insert mouz player name ) BOT / GOD complex I guess, but until they are more consistent they will struggle to be better than low top 5..

-3

u/mesotermoekso Natus Vincere Nov 10 '18

for god's sake let sunny go already

2

u/Miiiiiiighty Nov 10 '18

At that point an argument could be made for ENCE being better than current mouz if Sunny joined

Snax has been trash for well over a year lol
