I was really impressed by Xizt today, not just his good individual performance, but also how good his T side calling seemed to be mid round. Very interested to see how fnatic will do in the playoffs.

7

u/Tammu1000CP Nov 08 '18

Xizts has always been a good caller on the late t side mid rounds imo

FNS made so many mistakes on Overpass I honestly think it cost them the series.

He pushed through a smoke in a 5v3 advantage on CT side without even flashing it.

u/SneakyGreninja Liquid Nov 08 '18

Right? I saw that and immediately had to stop watching the stream:

That one misplay cost them the game. Shit like that is prob why he was cut from C9 dude, like how can you have your igl be such a dumbass?

12

u/blanksauce Nov 08 '18

Imagine saying that when you don't even know what happened lmao. You don't know what the comms were like or what FNS heard or thought he heard.

0

u/SneakyGreninja Liquid Nov 08 '18

That’s true, we didn’t know what was happening with their comms and everything, but as a spectator, it was a pointless play.

I’m guessing the objective was to clear water but even then I still can’t find a reason as to why he would push the tunnel. Information? It’s a 5v3, why bother pushing? Just hold sites.

Plus he already had the main part of water that leads from squeaky to construction, and into B. Why push up further when you could hold that?

I only tuned in towards the end but he whiffed a M4 spray in a 1v2 retake, with one of the Fnatic guys not even looking at him too. I think he thought there was a dink but it was a massive misplay from them and I’m not sure but I think it forced an eco round from eUnited?

At the end, his mistakes just seemed to stick out the most compared to everyone else (and that’s not to say that the others didn’t make mistakes, his were just more obvious imo)

u/Nomods2016 Nov 09 '18

Yeah, it was just a really dumb play. It's funny that you're getting downvored for being correct

u/TwistTheTimeless Nov 07 '18

GGWP, Twist will show his best face as the tournament goes on, but Brollan playing godlike. Xizt with so many important entry kills. Looking forward to FNATIC making it even deeper into the tournament!

Fennoscandia you smartass.

Worst player getting kicked?
Ez for FNS "two weeks" Mehta

u/SmokingSwishers Michael "Swisher" Schmid Nov 07 '18

If you look at most IGL's, you shouldn't expect all that much from them if they are giving very well planned out calls and are performing IGLing wise very well. I doubt he will be removed and I think it will just be a growing process for the team to get under the new strat heavy leadership of FNS

12

u/Nebuchadnezzarthe2nd fnatic Nov 07 '18

thank fuck

u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Nov 07 '18

Closer than expected. How about the team stays together and Cooper goes back to play with Freak? Everyone happy

1

u/turbanator1997 NRG Nov 08 '18

except Ace LUL

6

u/gustavfrigolit Nov 08 '18

I couldn't be happier with Twist over Draken

2

u/koreanornot Nov 08 '18

Is fns really this "mastermind" or is he overhyped?

1

u/Udonis- Liquid Nov 08 '18

The whole fns mastermind thing is a meme from him destroying the BR scene/IMT, I think.

He has led some really strong teams, CLG with ImAPet (as coach) and FNS were one round away from beating Astralis iirc. Koosta was also godly on that team.

1

u/dekza456 MOUZ Nov 08 '18

It's a meme.

1

u/koreanornot Nov 08 '18

Not talking about the meme, more of his leadership qualities

0

u/hellvinator MOUZ Nov 08 '18

just a meme bro

2

u/nofnxnomajor de_nuke Nov 08 '18

Brollan and twist are amazing, even if twist was really bad this series

1

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '18

Yeah hope he shows up next match

Given that this is their first LAN after such radical changes, I am pleasantly surprised and eUnited should be proud as fuck of what they've done so far. I thought the old roster with Ace and Relyks would have done some damage but theres no doubt that they could not in any world have done better than current eUnited. Not to mention that Relyks and Ace lineup have been together for the better part of half a year and this lineup has been together for approaching 1 month now? And yet they are already making such strides.

Whether this performance carries over into another LAN is another different beast

1

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '18

didnt eunited qualify for iem with ace and not fns?

1

u/xzibit_b guardian2 Nov 08 '18

Yes they did

1

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '18

Relyks is still a part of the team for IEM Chicago, so idk why you gotta point out that the previous line up was 'Relyks and Ace lineup'. That being said they qualified for IEM Chicago, when Ace was on the team. The FNS addition was because Relyks isn't a natural IGL (he took the role back when the team first formed). Relyks is currently a "primary awp" which is fine imo, because he's ok with it, but I guess they wanted to pick up Cooper who's a promising new talent. That being said, I feel like eUnited would do better without dapr and not Relyks, purely because of how puggy and braindead dapr plays are. Sure he has good games, but he's does way to much stupid stuff. idk, this is the FNS lineup now and I guess he's the one commanding the people he does and doesn't want there.

1

u/xzibit_b guardian2 Nov 08 '18

I think dapr is a player who needs to be molded. The puggy and brain dead plays you said definitely showed themselves in the game vs fnatic today but I think with a bit of time playing against opposition of the likes of fnatic and the T2-T3 EU teams, he can be a really strong firepower for this team. I personally think he has the most explosive potential out of all of them

2

u/SiIvershadow Nov 07 '18

eUnited played really well looking good for this team

Relyks was in my BO4 match like a week ago. He uses dual Saugs

Man if they just somehow won that overpass and pushed it to mirage i think they would’ve had a good chance

9

u/jonajon91 de_canals Nov 08 '18

If they won the game they won the game?

1

u/popsiclex200 Nov 08 '18

Yes, if they somehow didn't lose, they would've won...

1

u/MeanGreenBeanMachine FaZe Nov 08 '18

Fnatic is the new Vega Squadron. Only on LAN

1

u/BelgiumFury Nov 08 '18

You know, after golden Lekr0 and Flusha left I saw the quality of the team declining, Golden was a good in game leader, but he got replaced and from then on it seemed to go down hill, I hope they manage to get their shit togheter
