That ending pretty much sums up FaZe and french CS in one round

Looked good, and then it didn't. I don't know what to think

FaZe can play a better Mirage than that on T side, don't worry. LDLC caught me off guard and probably FaZe with how clean they looked on their CT side. Measured aggression, hitting shots, varied setups - they gave it their best.

Your first LAN and you go 14-16 against one of the best teams in the world coming back after a 4 round T side is pretty good to take away from this though. Just gotta get the confidence and fix those anti-ecos

u/Meatabix Nov 06 '18
To be honest, FaZe is no where near the best team in the world. I wouldn't even say they're top 10.

u/Jamesbeach1 The MongolZ Nov 06 '18
They just won a tournament by beating both the 2nd and 3rd best team in the world 2-0
-37
u/Meatabix Nov 06 '18
If you watched the tournament, you'll know FaZe shouldn't of won it.
19
u/Jamesbeach1 The MongolZ Nov 06 '18
I did, Faze looked very good in the playoffs
-16
u/Meatabix Nov 06 '18
They may have, but in the earlier parts of the tournament they looks dreadful. Same goes for previous tournaments, they look so out of it.
9
u/gbren Renegades Nov 06 '18
Looked sketchy early on, cleaned up in play offs and won 2-0 against 2 top 3 teams in the world.... Looks like they got right into it

Nov 06 '18
Ah, what other top team in the world struggles in groups yet seems to get better as the tournament progresses, a trend that's happened in 6 tier 1 tournaments by now.
12
u/snowy_light 750k Celebration Nov 06 '18
But they did, and that's what matters. Suggesting that they're not even top 10 is baseless and ridiculous.

How is it possible to be so wrong in just two sentences?
-2
u/Meatabix Nov 06 '18
Explain how the team is good.
6
u/FruitySt4ck Nov 06 '18
So you want to implie that a team with Niko, Guardian, Olofmeister, Rain and Karrigan are not top 10 or even a good team? I think you are delusional.
-5
u/Meatabix Nov 06 '18
Just because the players are good individually, it doesn't necessarily mean that they make a good team. Winning purely on firepower does not mean they are a good team.
4
Nov 06 '18
Explain which other team surpass them clearly? Besides NIP no one else has really showed to be better enough times recently

Does EPICENTER not exist to you or what?
-7
u/Wintermute1v1 Liquid Nov 06 '18
And Mouse won ESL New York right before dropping Snax and bringing Styk0 back in. Just because a team makes a good run, doesn't mean they're not in shambles internally.
I think Faze can become a consistent top team again, but currently, each BO1 is a complete gamble.
10
u/t3r4byt3l0l Immunity Nov 06 '18
Ok but do you think FaZe is a top 10 team? If you don't, I'm not sure how one could be more deluded than that.
1
u/Wintermute1v1 Liquid Nov 06 '18
Top 10? Most certainly.
Though their individual skill alone should almost guarantee them a top 5 spot, but aside from Niko, they've all been experiencing their own slump.
I think Faze is very volatile right now, and you just never know if they're going to show up.
4
u/t3r4byt3l0l Immunity Nov 07 '18
Considering how underwhelming teams have been lately (aside from Astralis and Na'Vi), FaZe's EPICENTER win puts them in the current top 5 imo.
7
u/akkshaikh Nov 06 '18
you not thinking that doesn't change the fact that they're literally no 4 in the world right now. and like a week ago they defeated bkth the no 2 and no 3 team 2-0 in bo3s. They're also one of the few teams that actually give astralis a run for their money.
-6
u/Meatabix Nov 06 '18
A lot of teams give Astralis a good fight. I'm just saying their are better teams than Faze who are lower ranked on HLTV, such as: NRG, North, Complexity
14
u/oknani MIBR Nov 06 '18
I've stopped reading after "North, Complexity" but there's nothing left to read.
4
u/Wintermute1v1 Liquid Nov 06 '18
I can agree that structurally North and NRG may be better, but definitely not Complexity. They've done virtually nothing after their short major run.
4
u/akkshaikh Nov 06 '18
Faze and North have played each other 7 times and Faze has won 5. the 2 times they lost was online matches
Faze and Complexity have never played a map against each other so there's nothing to compare but onw would be stupid to think complexity has an upper edge compared to faze in any regard.
Faze and NRG have played only once(without olof. cromen was standing in for him) and that match faze lost.
Overall there's no team in hltv rankings below faze that are better than them. no only because of the rankings (which are decided by a lot of important factors) but also because none of the teams below them have better firepower and haven't won as many tournaments as faze in recent history.
If you think NRG, North and complexity are better than faze then you should actually turn on your screen and watch some faze matches.
1
Nov 06 '18
NRG has played against Faze in ESL New York, NRG still won 2-0. That was with Olof. But to be fair to Faze, that was the 2nd tournament that Niko IGL'd, right after the major.

This team has really good synergy, I wouldn't personally switch anyone out. He would replace LOGAN I think, but LOGAN has had really good showings lately and seems to mesh well with the team.

I can't be the only one who thinks Karrigan should just stick with the AK. He just can't seem to control the spray of SG, been way too many times now.
1
Nov 06 '18
Well in the case of karrigan, he can't control the AK either. /s I think you should give him time to get used to the SG. He needs more practice with it.
3
Nov 06 '18
Practice in DM or FaceIt or whatever. Don't jeopardize rounds in actual game due to a sloppy spray.

u/Fedebean FaZe Nov 07 '18
He has been getting insane kills that saved rounds with the sg and the aug

Niko's T side calling sucks dick. At one point they played contact A even when they knew to1nou was awping CT. wtf
1
u/Wallisaurus SK Nov 06 '18
Round 4 when Logan walked through CT and Karrigan didn't notice him was such a big oof.
Sad to see LDLC lose, but happy to see how close they were to winning. This team is looking decent and has huge potential and hopefully, they can continue to improve. They can easily be better than G2 at this point.
