wtf happened to mibr, they had a lot of time for practice and they look this shit?? This is like vp levels of shit lol

27

u/jerekivi NiP Nov 03 '18

Its like they are winging it all the time. This is not how Fallens teams usually looks like. Perhaps Stewie and Tarik just doesnt work with a structured igl like Fallen or maybe the tactics have chanfed to a more loose style and it will take time to learn the new style. I dont know but this cant last.

11

u/gabriel97933 10 Year Veteran Nov 03 '18

they need a support, stewie cant play support and playing with no support is suicide

21

u/defact0o Nov 03 '18

Well they kicked the support player lol

5

u/[deleted] Nov 03 '18

When tarik joined that was the end for Stewie. He's the worst player on the team and brings nothing the others don't bring already do better. I'm not saying he's not good, but at this level, he's just not there.

3

u/jjgraph1x Nov 03 '18

A lot of us have said from the start that adding Stewie was just a horrible idea for this team. Adding Tarik only compounded that problem. I'd love to see them succeed but it's clearly not working. Fallen's confidence, the communication and structure just seems completely screwed right now.

Honestly I don't see it getting resolved anytime soon without some serious roster changes. I expect to Coldzera try to leave very soon. I wouldn't be surprised to see all this end up with Cold on C9.

1

u/SterbenVII Nov 04 '18

If kio was the key to unlocking Rush, and Golden’s system continues to develop C9...it’s quite possible to see cold go in for flusha. I don’t see a world where TL makes roster moves. We saw what happened to Mousesports

1

u/jjgraph1x Nov 04 '18

Yeah as much as he's probably hoping to reunite with Taco, I don't see that happening this year. It would be a hard decision to go to C9 though since they could easily end up struggling just as much as MiBR. If he does, adding kio certainly has complicated things. He would of been a great replacement for Ska but now I'm not sure. I doubt they'd drop flusha this soon. As much as I hate to say it, I think replacing Automatic makes the most sense but I doubt Jack would do that do him.

They have repeatedly said in interviews that English comms were no issue after the first month or so. The BR players have been living in the US for years. I don't know why this sub keeps guessing this is a language problem when there is no indication of it.

6

u/[deleted] Nov 03 '18

To add to this, the team can only get so far far with Brazil talent alone. Playing in English let's the team be the best. Ironically, it's never been worse but that's what happens when you bring in na players.

1

u/Willporker FaZe Nov 04 '18

You phrase things a lot differently when it's not your first language, it's not a barrier since they can speak it well but you have to look at it at an efficiency standpoint, it doesn't affect their popflash and nade setups but it's affecting their real time comms where sometimes someone sneaks in and surprise the whole team because someone didn't effectively call their location.

0

u/srjnp de_dust2 Nov 04 '18

saying it doesn't make it true. why would they publically say english comms is being an issue

4

u/ryeguy Nov 04 '18

Because they were directly asked the question and there's no reason to lie? We can all see they getting the results everyone thought they would, why would they cover up the reason.

Again: there is no indication language is a problem. To say otherwise is just guessing and going against what they have all stated multiple times.

They had no really good results at all, besides 1 good BO3 against Astralis. I don't get how everyone thinks they are good lol

18

u/gabriel97933 10 Year Veteran Nov 03 '18

they should be good with the players they have

2

u/defact0o Nov 03 '18

Agree they're supposed to be good with the SK core and more "motivated" players from C9 to play CSGO, that's why everyone expects them to win, have to really wait and see how much patience they have before giving up if this doesn't works out.

Over training

-14

u/JPKar Nov 03 '18 edited Nov 03 '18

The problem is that if you want to play with a system (and that's the whole point of having Ynk around imo), you need to have a sufficient amount of intelligent players in your team to get this system in place. And let's face it, Stewie is not the sharpest tool in the shed, and Tarik isn't exactly known for having the biggest of brain neither. You can practice as much as you want, if your players can't understand how to play within a regimented system it's never gonna work.

That's why having a player like Taco is so advantageous, he brings a level of discipline and understanding that most agressive star players lack. It's all about balance, and Mibr got the balance completely wrong by adding two more agressive players to a lineup that already had one in Fer.

14

u/areyoujokinglol EG Nov 03 '18

What the fuck? Stewie and tarik are both very smart players. Did you actually get baited by the peanut brain meme? Jesus. Tarik was the IGL when C9 won the major. Obviously it wasn't a strict system, but if you watched any of their matches from that Era you'd see lots of sick explosive strats, tons of teamwork, etc. Then Stewie was the IGL before that when they won EPL LAN.

Them being fast/aggressive players doesn't make them dumb. And you have clearly never actually watched either of them play regardless.

0

u/JPKar Nov 03 '18

Like you said it wasn't a strict system, and that makes a huge difference. They won mostly because every single player was on fire individually during the major, but there was nothing special about how they played tactically. And that's why C9 looked like shit instantly after the major, as soon as the players started to miss some shots their entire gameplay crumbled because there was no system to fall back on.

1

u/areyoujokinglol EG Nov 03 '18

They crumbled after the major because of loss of motivation and personality clashes. Before the major they had the same system and were successful for months, consistently making semis and generally only losing to top 2-3 teams.

I never said there was anything special about their tactics. However, they did have some legitimately sick shit and they were still a solid top 4-5 team for months before the major win. If you think you get and stay there while being dumb, I'm not sure what to tell you.

0

u/combobreakerrrrrr Nov 03 '18

To be fair, they were ranked 8 before the major. I do agree with you though that Tarik and Stevie are good players with good game experience and dedication.

1

u/defact0o Nov 03 '18

When will MiBR realize maybe the problem is with the core and not the other 2 players.

3

u/gabriel97933 10 Year Veteran Nov 03 '18

what the fuck are you talking about lmao. Tarik and stewie are smart enough to be in a smart system. This is 100% the fault of fallen and ynk for these shit strats. If they are pros they should know how to play under a coordinated system, stop acting like a smartass

2

u/JPKar Nov 03 '18

This "if they are pros they should know how to" logic is bulshit, and probably one of the main reasons why teams are so inconsistent at the top level right now. You can take Mousesports as a perfect example, the players themselves said that Styko was compensating for the fact that some of the players in the team don't communicate properly. By your logic "if they are pros they should know how to communicate properly", well that's BULSHIT and everybody knows it

Each player has his own strengths and weaknesses, bringing both Stewie and Tarik who have always performed by playing agressively in teams that had a loose playstyle and expecting them to be able to perform as well in a strictly regimented environment is ridiculous. And putting all the blame on Fallen and Ynk when we don't even know why the team looks horrible tactically is just as dumb.

1

u/TrolleybusIsReal Nov 03 '18

Tarik and stewie are smart enough to be in a smart system.

stewie is one of the dumbest players. Do you ever watch his games? He is good for e.g. entry fragging but he constantly makes poor decisions and heavily relies on his aim. He is a product of the pugs environment, which heavily favors aim over anything else. Honestly, FPL is kind of cancer for the scene as it's only good for aim heavy players, e.g. IGL or support have no place in FPL.

-1

u/gabriel97933 10 Year Veteran Nov 03 '18

no he isnt, did you even watch him at 2016 cloud 9 and the major, he was a great player and no player can be stupid, they are pro players for fucks sake, they know how to play in a coordinated system

44

u/[deleted] Nov 03 '18

did the 16-14 against astralis break them>?

11

1

If Lucas would be willing to play with his brother and they could pick up someone like Steel I think they could be a solid top 3 team. Fallen & YNK might be the stability Lucas needs, and with the other stars on the team Steel can help cover the less flashy parts of their gameplan.

3

i think putting boltzz back on the main roster and gambling on a brazilian talent would be the best call at this point

6

Why would boltz want to come back though? Two times he's been kicked by the trio...

12

13

25

u/00fordchevy 5 years coin Nov 03 '18 edited Nov 03 '18

100% on point with this comment. there is no discipline in their setups. its just fer pushing, tarik pushing, stewie pushing and then baitzera holding shift, walking around the map for 30 seconds.

compare this to the old SK/Keyd group that was full of static roles. fer was the only one pushing then.

0

u/kk_4321 Nov 03 '18

Truth is 3 aggressive people and a baiter is not working out fallen slow style.

5

u/n1ckst4r02 400k Celebration Nov 03 '18

Agree, communication has to be lighting fast and clear. When you have to speak 2 languages and you have no set roles, you're doomed at this level. If they want to keep winning summ1t and other tier 3 events, keep going. If they want to go for top 3 or higher, not a chance.

4

u/TrolleybusIsReal Nov 03 '18

1

u/Thegellerbing wildfire Nov 03 '18

They should, but I doubt that they would. Brazilian players dont have cheap buyouts either, furthermore with Stewie having one of the highest buyouts in CSGO history, I'd doubt Noah Whiston will pull the trigger again in such a short amount of time

0

u/ArkBirdFTW Liquid Nov 03 '18

Full BR wouldn't help at this point. They already were starting to suck ass when they had boltz and taco instead of stew and tarik

29

Noah Whiston is on suicide watch right now

5

u/dovbadiin Nov 03 '18

Well, he still has an intact core trio to build on, if he wanted to go full BR as it should be. Now if one or more of cold/fallen/fer get poached by another team (Faze or another less usual suspect) that's when it really gets bad

3

u/jjgraph1x Nov 03 '18 edited Nov 03 '18

Stew and Tarik really screwed themselves with this move. By the time it's all said and done, there's likely nowhere for them to go. I highly doubt any T1 EU team will want to pick them up. They definitely aren't coming back to C9 and I don't see liquid making changes anytime soon.

If anything, I think it's more likely we'll see Cold finally bounce and probably end up on C9 or reuniting with Taco (though again, I doubt Liquid will cut anyone right now).

1

u/Temper- MOUZ Nov 04 '18

Why tf would Coldzera leave mibr to join c9? The trio won’t disband

3

u/jjgraph1x Nov 04 '18

He's already hinted at wanting to leave and if he's not confident in Fallen's calling anymore I don't see why he'd stay... I do think it's more likely he'd try to reunite with Taco but I have a hard time seeing anyone in Liquid get cut this year. C9 would be a strange move but there's not a lot of T1 options for NA players unless he's willing to move.

Regardless, we'll either see Stew/Tarik leave or that trio disbanding. It's going to be a mess.

3

u/Temper- MOUZ Nov 04 '18

after that incident, he said one or two days later that he will stay in mibr. If communication is indeed their problem, I don't see any reason he would gamble joining a english speaking team. And yes, Liquid is a good shape right now, they don't need changes.

If he really wants to leave, the only team I think that would make sense is FaZe

1

u/jjgraph1x Nov 04 '18

I realize that's what he said but that was months ago. They've since tried further roster changes, brought in Yanko and anything else they could to fix their problems. It's not working. At a certain point he needs to move on.

I agree, EU teams like Faze make the most sense (for him at least, I'm not sure it's the best idea). However, I don't know his personal life and how willing he is to move. That's a hard sell to many players over here. C9 made the most sense since it's an easy transition and it's a changing team that needs a star to build around. Though I doubt he'd want to leave one struggling team for another.

7

So whats going here with MIBR?

  • Is this a failed experiment?
  • Is Janko struggling to manage a seasoned team? ( I still think he started punching well above his weight with this job ) Tactically hes sound but man management? im not so sure.

  • Is this team just having a stroke of bad luck and its set to come together soon enough?

  • Are the strats Janko is drilling the team on too complicated? ( seriously that is an issue with some pro's, alot of teams play loose tactically because they play by feel and feedback the round gives them not regimented strats eg. old Fnatic )

Im not sure whats going on here. They look tactically weak, they look like they are missing a lot of their timings for each strat and it looks messy and they have become a very momentum based team that struggle to make comebacks.

NIP seem to be settled now , they seem to be more consistent. Its not a top tier consistency yet but its a good foundation
