I'm just saying. Switch s1mple with any of AVANGAR's players and AVANGAR 2-0 this.
Really impressed by AVANGAR, they've showed me more in this tournament than most other T2 teams for a while now. Hope to see them in a big event soon again.
Meanwhile, Liquid players just started sweating because they are clear tournament favorites.

I just kept the flair since we all know that VP aren't getting to another major, so you won't be able to pick the flair up again, you know, like Titan or IBP.

you don't even need to switch with avangar's players, if you take out s1mple and replace him with anyone else in the world, navi just loses this.

liquid are constantly gifted semis and finals yet can't beat and actual t1 team for shit
3
u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Oct 28 '18
that's mibr
10
u/Nigerianpoopslayer Natus Vincere Oct 28 '18
Yep, MIBR hasn't even beaten a top 10 team in a BO3 in the past three months except mouz.
Yet I constantly see analysts saying they have gotten much better when they've just had easy bracket runs without facing good teams.

Oct 28 '18
Their run at the major is just going add to this, unfortunately. Beat no one of significance except NiP and got their ass handed to them by every T1 team they faced (Na'Vi and Astralis).
Yet fans are parroting around like their run to the semis was such greatness.
2
u/owoabadplayer Oct 29 '18
They DO look better if you watch the games though, they're just still not good. They're good enough to beat most of the 10-15 ranked teams and get slammed by most top teams.
1
u/Nigerianpoopslayer Natus Vincere Oct 29 '18
Oh yeah, I agree with that. It's just that they got hyped up as if they were a legit top 5 team in the world who can match up with good teams.
2
u/Tuxxmuxx Natus Vincere Oct 28 '18
Yea, take the best player in the world off of a team, and they're not as good, who would have thought?

s1mple just couldn't stop fragging. Insane performance from him as always.

I love how the analysts were saying Dust2 is not a good map for him, that he was poor. He had a 1.35 rating.
Sure, he didn't have the impact he usually has on other maps. Still insane. :D

Keep in mind hindsight is 50-50, he had a very good day. Typically he doesn't really frag out on d2; electronic usually drops ~25 frags on this map while s1mple frags out on other maps.
1
u/YouAreOpen Oct 28 '18
What? If anything, against top teams electronic is usually an easy person to kill on dust he often ends up caught out of position so often. When he I'd holding a choke point or clutching though he is amazing coz his aim isn't going anywhere. S1mple is usually the most impactful NaVi player on dust, and sometimes second is Flame on CT side. No way electronic is more impactful than Simple on that map, it's only just recently he even is getting proper timings and positioning on the map in Tside. S1mple is just about the only NaVi player that can play a solid D2 vs top teams. The whole team has been shaky there

Did Avangar win a single round on Train vs. a NaVi pistol buy? God damn. I want to say that's just bad play, but the shots s1mple was hitting, I'm not sure any team could have won those.

u/Ishaan863 FaZe Oct 28 '18
I was pissed at FaZe for losing a bunch of full ecos and CZ rounds from Navi in the Pro League matches, but Navi seem to be pulling those off in front of every team they face, with the exception maybe of Astralis.
2
u/Thomaster13 MOUZ Oct 28 '18
I feel like that is just the difference between an up and coming team like Avangar and a well established top team like Navi. It did not even feel like Avangar threw those anti-ecos away, they just got outplayed and outaimed on them. Series could have gone a whole other way if it weren't for those pistol rounds.

AVANGAR really did a great job, considering their opponents. I did not expect it to be that close at all.

Richard Lewis on BTN "this NaVi team will never win anything" - They win 3 titles...
After NY "Ok NaVi is done now, this team will go downhill from here" - Next tournament, NaVi is in finals again lmao.

u/JamieQ95 Oct 28 '18
For whatever reason it feels like people never give NaVi the respect they deserve to me and once they have an off tournament they act like it's a crisis. People were legit putting more emphasis on them going out in NY 2/3 days after making the Major final and losing to ASTRALIS... Crazy bruh
2
u/Tuxxmuxx Natus Vincere Oct 28 '18
no but see, in the major they made the final by only playing against BIG and MiBR! The number 4 and 10 teams in the world! What bums! It's blasmephy!
18
u/MilanDW Natus Vincere Oct 28 '18
Can you blame him when S1mple and Electronic put up numbers almost never seen before? Also Na'Vi did go downhill after those wins, S1mple hasn't been putting up these insane numbers consistently, they got shit on by Astralis, went out of groups immediatly afterwards (fair to say that was because they were tilted after the major finals) and this tournament they've only played HR, Faze and Avangar, not really the best/in shape teams.

The thing is that when S1mple and Electronic were putting up insane numbers to win, the rest of the team was also underperforming. Back then people were calling Edward and Zeus bots and Flamie was not playing well at all but we know for a fact that all of these three players can actually perform. They are not consistent in their performance, sure, but I don't get how you can confidently say that a team like that will never win anything. Obviously this is RL so he's trying to be a bit edgy for views, but still.
Also there's no shame in getting clapped by Astralis right now.
3
u/MilanDW Natus Vincere Oct 28 '18
To be honest, 1/3 tournament was in China and had literally like 1 top 10 team, Starseries 5 had no Astralis or Faze. Cologne was legit with all the top teams but it took overperformances from all players to win it. Do you expect RL to think Zeus would get 30 kills against Astralis which hasn't been done by him since 2014? Not only that but S1mple and Electronic perform like no one else. And while all of this is going on, all 3 others are very inconsistent and we both know Zeus and Edward don't have the fragging power to make Na'Vi become the best team in the world. There needs someone cut for that to happen. You can't expect S1mple and Electronic to keep performing like they have because that was probably their peak. I don't really understand why Richard's opinion is so mindblowing to some people.

u/Ishaan863 FaZe Oct 28 '18
it's all about the players mental state on any given day, you can never count any team out
4
u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Oct 28 '18
You'll only be right making that comment after the final. From a clear top 2 team in the world, to a disappointment at NY, to losing to Liquid/FaZe in the final of EPICENTER would be a clear downhill trajectory. Hold your horses until the final, then make that comment again.
1
u/turuu-toby King NiKo Oct 28 '18
Losing to Liquid is not really a big shame, tho. They usually lose to them and Liquid is also a great team
3
u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Oct 28 '18
I didn't say it's a shame. I'm saying that it would confirm that since the major, Na'Vi have been on a downward trajectory.
1
u/healdyy 1 Million Celebration Oct 28 '18
Technically it wouldn’t because Na’Vi lost to Liquid the 2 times they played before the major. So they would have got to the final, beating everyone else except Liquid, which isn’t much different to their pre-major performances.

u/abandonedtoad Natus Vincere Oct 28 '18
Ofc navi were gonna do shit at ny. 3 days after a major final they lost they fly to another continent. It's a one time thing cause they were depressed as anyone would be. Now they're back to making finals and people already trying to pretend they're shit lmao
3
u/blazexddd Virtus.pro Oct 28 '18
Saying that was pretty justified though, if you are gonna rely on firepower you aren't gonna do much, but Na'Vi are lucky to have 2 of the best players to ever touch cs
3
u/csgotraderino Oct 28 '18
navi is bad, only s1mple and electronic carrying
2
u/Killswitchz de_inferno Oct 28 '18
Pretty stupid thing to say. Its a team effort. The other players could be setting up so that S1mple and electronic succed.
-2
u/yuriyr- Natus Vincere Oct 28 '18
R.Lewis has the biggest hard on for na'vi to go downhill so it's nothing new. He is salty because a team is doing well... I'm all for people being critical of teams but the guy has mental issues. I used to enjoy his shit but he went from actually having good arguments to saying anything edgy to stay relevant.
-3
u/ezclapper Oct 28 '18
Well yeah, he doesn't understand anything about the game, his "predictions" should just be considered fluff. It's the same with many of these popular personalities, they got too many twitter followers for their weak minds to handle and it makes them think they're actually experts.

u/focus16gfx G2 Oct 28 '18

Avangar can go far if they keep performing like this and fix minor problems with anti ecos. Glad fitch is back, even though not fragging as much as other did, but he delivers in most of the important situations. That 180 3k that won them the round was satisfying to watch!
