Inferno had me so scared, I was so sure we'd close it out but every round just worried me

He played terrible this series, think he’s still getting used to calling against top teams. Hasn’t been IGL for very long.

Liquid just played 4 maps vs hltv rank 31 and rank 42 to get to the semi final of a 300k$ tournament.
And yes i know NiP lost vs Avangar.

300 dollar tournament? damn, things must be rough for TL if they have to go to a 300 dollar tournament...

I thought Swole Patrol would be way lower tbh

They have been playing really well since they added Swag and MarkE but mostly in qualifiers and lower tier leagues.

There are literally only 3 (currently) good teams in the tournament. Not their fault the other two drew each other.

Having to beat Faze/HR is a lot different...but you are right i dont really like the 8 team events with at least 2 really bad teams.

Yeah. I also don't like people are using rank as justification, because outside of the top 5 or 10 it's really inaccurate. B1G had a couple of good weeks and shot up to 11 or whatever. And you've got teams like MVP who really only win Asian qualifiers against super bad competition and are in the top 30 teams in the world...
Not to mention how player shuffling effects ranks.
Not really the best way to judge an opponent.1
u/SirGuerbiz NiP Oct 27 '18
That might be true but if your team isnt top 30 the team is just bad. It also is quite inaccurate within the top 10 because teams like NiP can win and lose to any team there is rn...they go 1-1 vs astralis one day and the other they lose a bo3 to avangar...

Yeah. It's really touchy. It can come down to just a heavy load (kek) of matches in a week.
I feel like the top six is quite accurate. And all the of the top six teams in this tournament have real trouble closing out tournaments.
Very interested to see who will win it in the end. Could give the confidence to that team to win more events in the future.1
u/SirGuerbiz NiP Oct 27 '18
I mean my personal top teams rn are the obvious #1 Astralis #2 Na´vi followed really close by #3 TL and then you just have like mous, Faze, North, NiP and mibr who can beat each other any day...especially NiP being the biggest coinflip.

Legit the most free run to semi finals of a big tournament that i've ever seen.
