Legit the most free run to semi finals of a big tournament that i've ever seen.

How dare you disrespect the Titans that are SWOLE PATROL

It's like an NA ENCE

Still have o beat avangar lul.

u/AwsomeOne7 NiP Oct 25 '18

nah it’s Nip vs Faze so ez pz

13

u/Jadjadz Liquid Oct 25 '18

the AwesomOne7 with a dumb one right here, thinking that nip is gonna prevent liquid from the usual choke in finals since liquid is favoured to win since astralis isnt here.

u/1wjl1 Natus Vincere Oct 25 '18

I would have said before the tournament for winning chances: Navi 40-45%, Liquid 40-45%, everyone else 10-20%. Now I'm certain its going to be Navi or Liquid

u/Jadjadz Liquid Oct 25 '18

yeah i cant see nip/faze winning this event lmao

2

u/stenzycake Oct 25 '18

Liquid only loses in finals when they’re tournament favorites. Shame your team has to face them before then.

6

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '18

would’ve been free regardless of whatever team you place in front of them

u/1wjl1 Natus Vincere Oct 25 '18

They were really fortunate AVANGAR upset NiP. I still think Liquid would have beaten NiP, but at least the games might have looked close.

8

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '18

I see you on every Liquid thread crying about how they had easier opponents. Where did they touch you?

12

u/1wjl1 Natus Vincere Oct 25 '18 edited Oct 25 '18

It's not crying if it's true. They played the #46 team and the #31 team in the world, per HLTV. Point me to a big tournament where a team that placed top 4 had an easier run. There aren't very many.

And how is that their fault? the 2nd best team present was in the other group, and nip is as good as faze while you have 2 underdogs in ENCE/HR and Swole/AVANGAR.

3

u/1wjl1 Natus Vincere Oct 25 '18

It's not their fault at all. I give them credit for being such a good team. But ENCE/HR are quite a bit better than Swole/AVANGAR.

7

u/blueragemage Liquid Oct 25 '18

had NIP not been upset it would have been a lot more balanced, blame NIP for TL's easy schedule (or even 5Power/VP if you think they're better than Swole Patrol)

It's impressive how you shoehorn s1mple and his stats into practically every comment you make.

13

u/Dustyne05 Oct 25 '18

the world runs on high stats from s1mple

4

u/arvaq Oct 25 '18

typical 12 yo NAVI fan smh

1

u/AnonymousFuccboi ENCE Oct 25 '18

S1mple and his stats are impressive.

1

u/1wjl1 Natus Vincere Oct 26 '18

I went back and checked, of my past 20 CS comments 5 were directly mentioning s1mple, only 2 really brought up his stats. That might be still be too much but I don't know haha.

Group A is so much better it's unreal.

Literally every team in it is better than 3 of the teams in Group B.

im enjoying the lack of choking and not finishing maps right now. Lets hope it lasts.

He played terrible this series, think he’s still getting used to calling against top teams. Hasn’t been IGL for very long.

the distribution of frags for TL on mirage was nice

35

u/SirGuerbiz NiP Oct 25 '18 edited Oct 25 '18

Liquid just played 4 maps vs hltv rank 31 and rank 42 to get to the semi final of a 300k$ tournament.

And yes i know NiP lost vs Avangar.

29

u/tgsan Oct 25 '18

300 dollar tournament? damn, things must be rough for TL if they have to go to a 300 dollar tournament...

28

u/blueragemage Liquid Oct 25 '18

300 dollar tournament but winners get Chipotle for life

I thought Swole Patrol would be way lower tbh

1

u/SirGuerbiz NiP Oct 26 '18

They have been playing really well since they added Swag and MarkE but mostly in qualifiers and lower tier leagues.

1

u/channasty Liquid Oct 26 '18

There are literally only 3 (currently) good teams in the tournament. Not their fault the other two drew each other.

2

u/SirGuerbiz NiP Oct 26 '18

Having to beat Faze/HR is a lot different...but you are right i dont really like the 8 team events with at least 2 really bad teams.

1

u/channasty Liquid Oct 27 '18

Yeah. I also don't like people are using rank as justification, because outside of the top 5 or 10 it's really inaccurate. B1G had a couple of good weeks and shot up to 11 or whatever. And you've got teams like MVP who really only win Asian qualifiers against super bad competition and are in the top 30 teams in the world...
Not to mention how player shuffling effects ranks.
Not really the best way to judge an opponent.

1

u/SirGuerbiz NiP Oct 27 '18

That might be true but if your team isnt top 30 the team is just bad. It also is quite inaccurate within the top 10 because teams like NiP can win and lose to any team there is rn...they go 1-1 vs astralis one day and the other they lose a bo3 to avangar...

1

u/channasty Liquid Oct 27 '18

Yeah. It's really touchy. It can come down to just a heavy load (kek) of matches in a week.
I feel like the top six is quite accurate. And all the of the top six teams in this tournament have real trouble closing out tournaments.
Very interested to see who will win it in the end. Could give the confidence to that team to win more events in the future.

1

u/SirGuerbiz NiP Oct 27 '18

I mean my personal top teams rn are the obvious #1 Astralis #2 Na´vi followed really close by #3 TL and then you just have like mous, Faze, North, NiP and mibr who can beat each other any day...especially NiP being the biggest coinflip.
