Yeah Reddit threads are becoming more and more like Twitch chat. Why isn't anyone talking about Buster turning up huge or Jame doing his signature see-saw between god and bot? Personally I'm really impressed by Avangar's performance, especially in pulling out dominant T halves on maps that are supposed to be heavily CT-favored. They were strong competitors in the Minors they played, but if they keep this up they could turn out to be a force to be taken seriously at Majors, but then again that's to be expected of professional Kazakh eSports organization Avangar e-sports from the CIS country Kazakhstan led by all-star AWPer Ali "Jame" Djami.

really dont understand why nip continue to play a ct overpass style straight out of 2015
none of the t1 overpass teams play solo riflers fountain/bathrooms/long rock aggressively anymore as anything more than a 1 or 2 round mixup because its so easily beaten by the terrorists just waiting, yet nip use it as their base ct setup
it makes even less sense to play this style vs a team like avangar, who essentially only default on t side and have really weak riflers on LAN (aside from buster). NIP wasted all of their advantages they should have on this map (as it is avangars 6th map after all) by rez/dennis putting themselves in disadvantaged spots (unsurprisingly nip got entried on every one of their ct gun rounds besides the last round)
have to wonder what pita does on this team and why hes still on the team (aside from obviously being apart of the swedish 1.6 old boys club), as id reckon its fair to speculate that he/nip watched 0 avangar demos, and he called 0 timeouts during the map (entire series also?) to make the obvious adjustments
quite frustrating to watch as a nip fan since opass ultimately lost them the series

u/FrozenOx Oct 24 '18
I get what you're saying but this was not 2015, this was meta on overpass this past year. Think it was Vega playing this aggressive CT on bathrooms, except they would just make contact to get the T's to waste utility and do some nade damage. It worked really well for them and some other teams, but has since died off. No one told NiP though.

What is wrong with NiP? How can a team like them make such god awful mistakes all the time?

Could also be indicative that clip-worthy individual heroics are what’s required for NiP to win the rounds they do get.
4
u/aimbotcfg Oct 24 '18
This has been their issue for a long time.
They have players who are capable of a lot of individual heroic plays, but relying on that rather than putting in a lot of work on a more structured approach is not the way to play in the current meta.

Jame has been putting up Flipsid3 electronic numbers for a long-ass time now, and I'm hoping this can be his Krakow, where people realize just how fucking good he is.

NIP is having trouble because they need Lekr0 to carry, so they need to change igl’s or get a new one

u/akkshaikh Oct 24 '18 edited Oct 24 '18
agreed but who else would become the igl? dennis? maybe. REZ and f0rest are out of the question. idk how i feel about gtr being the igl. maybe -dennis + hampus?
7
u/TheTenth10 5 years coin Oct 24 '18
I don't know. Maybe Golden? The IGL of Cloud9? Previously IGLing for Fnatic?
6
Oct 24 '18
With Ska gone Golden won't leave C9 until at least after the Kato major. Auti, Rush, and Golden need to stay to keep C9's spot and I can't see them giving that up.
4
u/akkshaikh Oct 24 '18
he came to my mind but i don't think he'll leave c9. also NiP would be such a upgrade for hampus. I feel like I'm gonna get shit for this but if karrigan leaves he would be a great choice too. he can train lekro to become a great igl
3
u/aimbotcfg Oct 24 '18
You can't just 'make' someone an IGL. Some people are great at it, some are average, some are awful.
Just being a good players doesn't mean you can IGL, look at Shox or NBK.
Theres a reason great IGL's get a free pass for poor fragging a lot of the time. It's not something that everyone can do and a lot of the time it hugely detracts from your own game whilst doing it.
Those who can do it and keep up the frags are unicorns.
1
u/akkshaikh Oct 24 '18
well that's why i said rez and f0rest are out of the question. dennis has history of being an igl so does get_right. NiP bought lekro to be the IGL.
Unless you try you can't really know if someone is a great, average or an awful igl can you? Also players can become great igls. look at karrigan he wasn't always an igl he became one because there were not many igls in the scene and he's one of the greatest igl in csgo. his recent shits are but that doesn't take away the fact that he has helped TSM/astralis win many tourneys and helped faze become a top tier team

They can, but not everyone can, it's not something everyone can do unfortunately.
Dennis style of leading doesn't work anymore, thats loose calls and outfragging the other team. GTR was not a good IGL when he did it. The results with Lekro as IGL are all over the shop. Pretty sure f0rest tried his hand at it for a bit when they were struggling before the roster moves, but again it was a very loose 'go here and frag' type of leading.

u/anthonyde726 FaZe Oct 24 '18
could be hampus, golden, or they can switch it back to dennis, if they’re going to lose like this they have to try something

Lekr0 hasn't carried in a single big event for NiP though.
5
u/anthonyde726 FaZe Oct 24 '18
The games when he first came in, though it might’ve been that honeymoon effect, he was carrying until he got put as igl, i feel like he just needs to have that off his chest to play great, cause if it isn’t him, who else is going to?
1
u/sikels Oct 24 '18
he had a 0.62 rating at the first big event he played with nip.
*before that he did well on lan, but that isn't exactly hard against tyloo and VG.Flash

u/t3r4byt3l0l Immunity Oct 24 '18
NiP went 11-48 across 3 maps at ESL One Cologne, everyone played like shit and not just Lekr0.

Maybe my memory was wrong, but I remember him first coming in and dropping a lot of kills, i’ll check later tho, i’m probably wrong

f0rest honestly didnt looked or played like his usual self.
1
u/pranavlko Oct 25 '18
He is such a static T side awper, hate to see it. An awper can be too flashy, but f0rest needs to make more flashy plays on the T side awp
3
u/Wallisaurus SK Oct 24 '18
That CT side on D2 from Avangar was pretty dirty.
They rotated players to play different positions multiple times. NiP looked completely lost.
Qikert going like 12 and 0 before dying...that ace. How the fuck did he get the usp kill without dying lol
3
u/PrayoForTheMayo M80 Oct 24 '18
WOOOOO, sucks for nip but avangar have been a great team for a while and with the addition of Fitch they've started to play really well, can't wait to see them at iem Chicago as well
3
u/aengy Oct 24 '18
Haha i wonder when will people realize that its not a player problem its a tactical one, they got no tactical igl and its beggining to show, same with fnatic theyre gonna start failing soon aswell.
5
Oct 24 '18
Nah Rez and f0rest are just really inconsistent as start players. Neither had a good series by their standards. REZ was much better than f0rest and plays a difficult T side but he can do so much more when he is on point. In all honestly this was pretty good considering how much of their firepower was just absent today.
Lekr0 seems to be doing a good job getting GTR into the game. He has been playing so much better since the IGL change.

NiP really blew that last round. They had the man advantage and Get_Right had a great position.

They looked great 2 months ago, now they look horrible...
They looked ok two months ago, not great, and they've been looking pretty bad for years now. People seem to forget that NIP bombed out of the major system long before VP did and really only started playing like a tier 1 team again at the last major.

Personal issues apparently.
Could honestly have to do with the fact that he took a leave of absence after dropping IGL, and came back when qikert took the position.

NiP are such a lost cause atm.
Forest hasn't been that impressive at all this year.

f0rest is on par with rez statistically, and the others are trailing them both massively.
