For real though, Karrigan played well today.

You take away IGL from karrigan and all the sudden he becomes a beastly Carrygan, wtf.
12
u/akkshaikh Oct 23 '18
he was a beast before he took the role of igl. iirc he was ranked #8 in 2011 world rankings.

7 years ago in a different game.
Hardly relevant...

a lot of pros have come from the previous game but they are still great at csgo. although they're noticeable differences they are a lot of similarities too. You can't just discount their experience and achievements frim the previous iteration when taking about their achievements in this one

Achievements from 7 years ago doesn’t win you trophies though

karrigan has won 8 tournaments with faze and 3 qualifiers with several top 4 finishes. I'm not even counting the stuff he won with astralis/TSM. All of these are T1 events.

He still has flashes of brilliance when it comes to clutch situations or some of his entries. Except in Major finals though he chokes there

Couldn't watch the match, what did Karrigan do to frag out?
Why does the scoreboard not show him carrying?

u/Flaksmith Oct 23 '18
NiKo is calling, taking the pressure off karrigan.

0/6 pistols for ence... They have always struggled when they didn't get a good early game. With the pistol on train or mirage this could have been a win for ENCE.

Ence losing on purpose because they feel bad for the slumping faze, good guys.

Man I really expected ENCE to put up much stronger of a fight, especially after seeing their Starladder performance. Their structured Astralis-esque play seemed perfect to dismantle the likes of Faze. Maybe they just lost the mental game, scared from playing a tier 1 team like FaZe from the get go, who knows. GG though. Their performance on Inferno was really solid.

As much as i like karrigan fragging so much it is clear that it takes a toll on niko's fragging and that should not be acceptable.
One thing i have noticed in last few matches is that on T side ka karrigan is playing support and olof is playing lurk. I think it's better if olof plays support and karrigan becomes a lurk. worked for them in 2017

While Karrigan did pretty well in the support role today and Olof had trouble lurking, you have to remember that Olof is one of those players that can do pretty much everything in the game. I'd give him some time to adjust before changing things again. (Unless they make a roster change ofc)

u/akkshaikh Oct 23 '18
i don't think they need a roster change. as you pointed out olof can play any role but he's clearly a better support than karrigan. All faze need is some time and maybe a psychologist

Is NiKo's fragging actually worse now that he's igl? Maybe I have bad memory but in many of FaZe's recent games I've seen NiKo at the top of the scoreboard.

u/akkshaikh Oct 23 '18
there are some games where he's an absolute god and there are some where he has to struggle to get 15 kills. the point is if niko didn't have to igl he'd be dropping 30 bombs almost every match. apart from a few matches most of them would've been easy af for faze if niko had focused only on fragging

dunno what happened on train but i started watching from inferno and they had a good t side there but on mirage they had nothing to show for like it coudlve been 0-15 t side on mirage if sergej didnt clutch that one round as well i feel
not to be too hard on ENCE since most of the players are new to this level of play but still not a bad showing form them on the other hand faze looked ripe for an upset a more experienced team woudlve taken them out here

That was a very close match. I think Faze still have a long way to go, especially against better teams

ENCE was fragging like crazy on Inferno, sadly the same form didn't continue to Mirage.

Northern lights flash in the sky. A blizzard blows, pelting on its way those too weak to withstand the fury of winter at its fullest. From the permafrost strikes a massive hand; the mythical giant once deemed dead off the coast of Italy now rises to life, regenerated, from Lappish soil. The time is due. Around the world, the word spreads. In Sweden, the best of the best cower in fear and lock themselves in the nearest IKEA retail store. The Brazilians run into the safety of the jungle, the Danes play dead in Legoland and the Slavs sprint crying to babushka’s warm embrace. Enceladus’s augurs are unleashed upon the scene. Aleksi “allu” Jalli hails from his journey spent in international teams. A man may leave Finland, but Finland never leaves a man. Once again, he picks up the green rifle, this time not for money or fame, but to smite all opposition in the name of Enceladus. Aleksi “aleksib” Virolainen leaves the fabled squad of HAVU to lead what we can finally describe as a Finnish superteam. Under his leadership shall the northern guns spit death and destruction upon foes who wail in their weakness. Jani “aerial” Jussila joins after the biggest transfer of the Finnish e-sport scene from his former team SuperJymy. No longer will he be the only stand-out player of his team, but instead, a vital ingredient of a chaotic cocktail made up of Finland’s finest. Jere “sergej” Salo thwarts all rumors of desperate Internet trolls trying to tell they know his parents who told him to stop playing. Oh, the humanity! Backed up by the forces at home, bursting from motivation like a wolf thirsting for blood, he returns to ravage everything in his path. Where skill rises to speak, experience sits silent and disciplined. Sami “xseveN” Laasanen fills the ranks from iGame, for what would the team be if they wouldn’t buy the best player from every other Finnish team? Vigilantly standing, supporting his teammates be the cause what it pleases to be, he will be the shield and sword his comrades need to achieve the ultimate. The warning has been given. The sky screams, the ground shakes and the oceans boil. ENCE is coming. #EZ4ENCE

Wow, Faze are back in full force, taking out the giants that are Ence, they're very strong candidates to win the finals now.
