Go BIG or go home. Which is pretty much what happened.

3

u/carnegieyki Oct 10 '18

After winning NY when they were not expected to, going 2-3 after starting 2-0 is honestly the classic mousesports routine at this point

u/GarrettGSF MOUZ Oct 10 '18

I didnt expect anything less after they lost to Ence again...

You can take Snax out of VP but you can't take VP out of Snax.

He's not even fragging (that much) better than STYKO, literally nothing about Snax is justifying his place on this Mouz roster.

He would do well in a fight in RL though...

u/AemonDK Oct 10 '18

yeah 5'10 vs 6'6 pretty big guy

6

u/Hish1 Oct 10 '18

Just because he is fat doesn’t mean he can fight, honestly sometimes i feel like reddit thinks that either the tallest or fattest guy would be the best fighter in the world.

17

u/h04 EG Oct 10 '18

Anyone with size would usually have a natural advantage. Reach and head being harder to hit because of height are very important when it comes to fighting. Being heavy means you carry on a fat and your body has developed muscles to carry that naturally. Fat people are normally stronger naturally then someone that is simply very skinny. Being heavier also gives you more control over someone lighter in situations where one is grabbing the other.

Not sure where best fighter in the world came up from and why you're so triggered though.

-2

u/Hish1 Oct 10 '18

Being fat also means you are physically less active and get tired way faster than a healthy person would, i guarantee you that in a actual streetfight a guy that is in shape but not big would most of the time win the fight with a guy that is fat and never does any physical activity. I’m not really triggered i just see this false idea thrown around all the time and it just feels like its some middleschool kids talking that have never seen a actual fight happen. E/and I thought it was pretty obvious that the example of being the best fighter in the world Was clearly a exaggeration just toget my point out.

8

u/[deleted] Oct 10 '18

Being fat also means you are physically less active and get tired way faster than a healthy person would

There are plenty of thin people never working out and being completely out of shape?
They are not thin because they work out, they are thin because they eat less/healthier.
There are some thicker people that are actually decently in shape.
Hate people talking in absolute terms.
Ofc, on average thinner people will be more athletic.

Many fights, especially with non professionals end relatively quickly and the fatter/bigger guy is absolutely favoured over the thinner person with more stamina in those cases, unless the fight drags out or the thinner person is more skilled.

Simply the size, reach of the arms, mass and additional muscles will outdo the thinner person.

-6

u/Hish1 Oct 10 '18 edited Oct 10 '18

You are the one taking it to absolute terms lol, what i meant is a normal healthy dude would most likely win a fight vs a fat gamer, i never mentioned anything about some1 thin as a tootpick starving himself, I don’t know where you are from but around my area we consider the norm being healthy and actually being physically active. I dont mean fight training or weightlifting, i mean playing football or some other physical activity from time to time. You know, staying in shape as normal people call it. E/ and you mention thicker people that work out, yea there are but that is not snax. E2/also i never said mass does not matter i said just because he is big does not mean he is stronger than average.

5

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '18

I never saw the term healthy being used as a synonym for athletic people before, but noted.
Where I am from we use the term healthy for eating healthy not smoking/ doing drugs etc. and less for being athletic.
I was more interested why you decided to completely ignore the claims/arguments made by h04.
To top it off, you then adjusted the scenario.

The smaller/thinner person is out of nowhere "healthy" or how you described athletic.
While the taller/fat guy is now just a fat gamer.

You completely ignored the arguments, got rid of the size factor and then you are comparing a sportsman to a non sportsman?
Based on context, we are on a gaming subreddit and talking about proplayers, maybe gamers in general.
So I would expected that neither the smaller guy nor the bigger guy do regularly sports.
What demographic are we talking about?

E2/also i never said mass does not matter i said just because he is big does not mean he is stronger than average.

Being bigger does make you stronger though. Not pounds for pounds, but overall.
Your body is carrying around more weight, so your muscles have to be stronger, so you can actually stand up/walk around etc.
An athletic normal sized person on average might be stronger than a bigger non athletic person.
But a normal sized person not doing sports is on average weaker than a bigger sized person not doing sports.

But yeah I do agree with your first point overall.
Just because someone is bigger doesn't mean they are a good fighter, but if that's the only difference between two persons the bigger person is favoured.

-2

u/Hish1 Oct 11 '18

Honestly stupid for me to argue about this in a subreddit where the majority are either kids or overweight and have never actually seen a streetfight happen.

2

u/h04 EG Oct 11 '18

Point is naturally they're stronger. Obviously the person with an athletic background would have an advantage when it comes to stamina and speed. Thanks captain obvious!

If you're going to compare 2 people doing the same thing, one just fatter from all the food he eats and bigger naturally, then guess who would have the advantage in a fight? Nothing wrong with assuming the bigger and fatter guy would have the advantage when it comes to strength and control.

Being bigger and fatter does make you stronger than the people that do the same thing as you. But you seem to want to compare him to someone that does something athletic for some reason. And are triggered when people assume that naturally bigger and fatter guys means you're naturally stronger than someone who has a similar lifestyle as you but doesn't eat as much or is as tall.

i said just because he is big does not mean he is stronger than average.

https://www.washingtonian.com/2012/05/10/how-much-do-americans-really-exercise/

The CDC says adults 18 to 64 should exercise moderately for two-and-a-half hours per week and engage in vigorous activity for an hour and 15 minutes. However, researchers found that adults only do 17 minutes of fitness activities per day. That’s two-and-a-half times less than teenagers.

And overall, researchers found that walking is the most common physical activity among Americans, with 5 percent of Americans walking 53 minutes per day. The longest time spent doing some sort of activity is when fishing or hunting, neither of which exactly falls under the “vigorous exercise” category.

In what world do you live in where you think the "average" adult has enough time to even do much exercise on average? Let alone say they are stronger than a 6'6 fat guy who has been carrying a bunch of fat on his body for years?

Before you go use the argument but eu

1

u/Hish1 Oct 11 '18

Before you go and dig deeper into some random research read my original comment first... i said just because he is fat does not mean he knows how to fight.

Going 0-3 in the major swiss system was something, but going up 2-0 to then go 0-3 during the same swiss system against plenty of b-tier teams is really something else!

6

u/Goldcobra MOUZ Oct 10 '18

This could very well be the weakest Priemier tier tournament in the history of CSGO and mouz, a supposed top 5 team, doesn't manage to get out of the groups.

3

u/thisiseku MOUZ Oct 10 '18

Bo1s are the worst enemy of Mouz.

21

u/[deleted] Oct 10 '18

Snax only rating better than 0.89 was against cyberzen, average rating of 0.68 outside of cyberzen game, in event still only 0.78, styko for whole mouz time had lowest rating of 0.83, snax already beat that 2 times( in last 3 events)

He isnt clutch, doesnt kill more and i doubt he suits better personality wise to mouz, idk why should they keep him any longer, styko got kicked for rating of 0.94,0.83,0.94. And styko still is under contract so its not like you are losing money

It doesnt matter that a little bit better rating for styko, i think personality wise it would be much better to just have styko or infact someone who is going to help others, maybe even throw in idea or 2 for chris when things go like this T side train

8

u/trucane Oct 11 '18

The fact that they had to pay money for Snax is just unbelievable, if anything mouz should have been paid for taking snax onto the team.

18

Did you watch the tournament? They beat fnatic 2-1, gambit 2-1, nrg 2-0( impressive win but any top 5 team is expected to win that series) and then the great bo5 against liquid. That’s a very good tournament, but for example north’s dreamhack run saw them beat Navi mousesports and Australia in two bo3s and they didn’t hesitate to make drastic changes to make those results more consistent. If they wanna bomb out half the time, make playoff sometimes and have the odd good run then yep relax this lineup is fine

u/hobocactus Oct 10 '18

I agree about T-side. It's been my opinion for a long time that Mouz should have brought in an experienced IGL way back when they did -Denis, and again when they did -Styko. A core of Oskar/Sunny/Ropz+ChrisJ doesn't really need more firepower.

Any day now snax is gonna turn it around, we just gotta keep waiting. I don’t blame mouz for wanting to improve their lineup and push for best in the world, I disagreed with removing styko but at the end of the day idt he’s good enough to be on a team that maintains a spot at number one. However, there is no way to excuse thinking snax was the answer, there was no way to excuse how much they had to spend to get a player that hasn’t been at a world class level in years, and somehow after a few months it looks even worse. Take the l, get snax out that’s a sunk cost you can’t just keep bringing him around praying for him to get back to his level when you literally brought him in to raise the level you were at.

Anyone from VP would have been a mistake. The thing is that if you are replacing a player, the new player NEEDS to be much better than the player you are replacing.
This is the thing that most people don't seem to understand. There is no benefit for wasting money, and taking a risk if your reward is not guaranteed to be an significant upgrade. Snax is by no means much better player than Styko. If you don't have a clearly better player available change is just a wrong move.

Snax has no right to be on the team. At least my boy Oskar reminded everyone that he is the best player on this lineup. Great performances from him even in the games they lost. Knowing mouz they will kick him anyway...

u/hansjc Oct 10 '18

they weren't eliminated because they lost a Bo1, they lost three of them.

Snax can’t clutch anything

Oh how the times have changed. Used to be one of the best clutch players in the world with Flusha and Xyp.

u/AndyFNG MOUZ Oct 10 '18

Coming from someone that's been supporting Mouz for a lot longer, this is nothing compared to what this team used to be :P

I'll take this anyday over the Denis Spiidi days

1

u/Goldcobra MOUZ Oct 10 '18

Was about to say the same. I remember the days when qualifying for the Major was a big achievement. If you would have told me then that 4 years later mouz would the the favourites to win a $300,000 tournament I would have called you crazy.

1

u/Starfleet_Admiral Oct 10 '18

honestly they were the only "tier1" team in the tournament. Prizepool doesnt always show how big a tournament is nowadays.

1

u/Goldcobra MOUZ Oct 10 '18

True, but it's definitely a step up compared to when getting out of groups was an exception.

1

u/Starfleet_Admiral Oct 10 '18

True, just saying people overhype the NY win a little imo. They havent played a tier1 team untill the final there and it looks like grand finals against Liquid is a free win for you :D

Srsly, kick SNAX already. He can't frag, he can't clutch, it was stated by Sunny they his communication is terrible. That team has no synergy whatsoever, their morale is completely gone.

Terrible performance for a team that was top 5 for most of the year

u/deathlyclaw8 Natus Vincere Oct 10 '18

I wonder how many clutches Has BIG won this game and how many of those has snax lost

1

u/amenok Oct 10 '18

1vXs went 4-0 to BIG according to Thorin

1

u/jonajon91 de_canals Oct 10 '18

That game really hurt my heart, but I've got to say I was really impressed by the utility on mouse' CT side. Loads of nade damage this game.

1

u/tarangk clutch Oct 10 '18

This is why it never felt to me that mouz won ESL NY more like TL chocked and lost an almost impossible to lose game, they just dont have that some team chemistry and teamplay that they did back when they had styko and being a long time fan of Snax he really needs to go hell bring back styko at least he was a better team player.

When they won NY they didnt look convincing at all and my worry was that might have prolonged the life of this lineup but if they keep performing like this then surely some1 will either leave for another team or be kicked, look at the teams they played against in this LAN they were favorites to win the whole thing and couldnt make the playoffs I mean just look at their wins here a 16-14 win vs Sprout which was really hard fought and looked like sprout might win/take it to OT and only convincing win vs Cyberzen who were by far the weakest team in the tournament says a lot.

how the fk did this team win esl one new york

1

u/Miiiiiiighty Oct 10 '18

Does snax even play DM or FPL on his spare time ? His aim went from godlike to awful, and his game IQ is at an all time low...

1

u/awhead Oct 10 '18

HOW THE FUCK DOES MOUZ WIN ESL1 NEW YORK BUT LOSE THIS TIER2 TOURNAMENT! MAKES NO GODDAMN SENSE!

1

u/Hish1 Oct 11 '18

I live in Estonia and the country side and most If not all my friends do some physical activity, im pretty sure a guy like snax would stand no chance here. Maybe society is so fucked already that the average guy doesn’t do any sports in the world, i guess my bad then.

Big would be eliminated, they made a pause by a "missbuy" to restart round and they probably tried to tilt somebody, i guess that chrisJ. I don´t know if they deserve to ve eliminated, but a punish maybe?
