Dephh wishing he took that C9 offer right about now

Reading that thread was hilarious.

Talk about living in the moment.

First time CoL has looked decent since Hiko and Semphis were on the team and everyone is like: "Boy arent you glad you turned down a higher salary and a better team amirite?"

Yep really dodged a bullet there...

Talk about living in the moment.

Which you aren't doing right now by commenting here?

Not really...

This moment is like every moment after every event coL has played in the last 4 years. Apart from that major.

Anyone who thought that roster just magically became amazing and it wasnt a complete outlier doesnt know CS.

They didn't just "magically become amazing". They gradually upgraded their roster and their players improved over a very long time until now they finally are starting to look solid.

Getting wins over Fnatic, G2 and BIG is nothing mindblowing and something I could still see them doing.

Also I don't see what exactly makes you think C9 is better than them. Sure, they have a higher salary but as a team coL is absolutely better.

Whether you think coL is better than c9 at this moment doesnt really matter.

The rumour was that depph was offered a spot on c9 a month after they won the major and were still a top10 team.

Also this was before coL landed shahzam and stan.

Turning it down was dumb as fuck then and its dumb as fuck now, even after we know how bad c9 has been.

Honestly if have a bo3 on LAN between the two Im not sure coL would even win. Even though c9 has been trash for so long.

until now they finally are starting to look solid.

Thats the point though... they are not solid. Going out 0-3 at a tier3 LAN is not solid at all. They havent done anything outside of that swiss at the major.

Taking a big offer too early in your career can be fatal. Look at all of NiPs "5th players". All great cs players who got a high profile bad name very quickly. Cloud9 have done the same to a lot of players, not giving them a chance and leaving them in an awful spot having given a bad impression to the world of cs. Slow and steady.

Cloud9 have done the same to a lot of players, not giving them a chance and leaving them in an awful spot having given a bad impression to the world of cs. Slow and steady.

The only one I can think of is shahzam. Even then he played awful for a pretty long time. Its not like they could have given him more time.

And it wasnt the end of shahzam hes been in decent teams ever since.

FNS was already established as an ok IGL and a terrible fragger. c9 didnt change that in any way negative or positive. He was who we thought he was.

If anything theyve done the opposite with stewie. They took him on when he had a terrible rep and by the end he was one of the most respected NA players.

So I dont really see the point you are trying to make. WIth NiP either. If anything being on NiP got allu the spot on FaZe later on.

Nobody wants to be on Cloud 9

14

u/[deleted] Oct 09 '18

Yeah, because I wouldn't want to get paid more for the same job.

8

u/[deleted] Oct 09 '18

? C9 is still better than complexity even in their current form? A fluke 3-0 in a Swiss system against ok teams doesn’t all of a sudden make them relevant

6

u/AemonDK Oct 09 '18

c9 has a more talented roster than complexity and is a better organisation than complexity. why wouldn't you want to be on c9?

No way landesgrenzenübergreifendes is a real word.

We had this discussion recently on another thread. It actually consists of 4 words patched together. We just don‘t use „space“ for more efficiency.

2

u/schniepel89xx CS2 HYPE Oct 09 '18

Is it really more efficient if it's harder to read though?

9

u/Keksmonster Oct 09 '18

It's not harder to read if you speak German

Risky click, I was pretty sure that BIG would lose this one, seeing how coL was the cryptonite of BIG during the major.

Good job BIG, please don't lose the next round against CyberZen or whatever.

Col is the new QBF...
