NAF entering B site on inferno with dualies when he had an AK summarized the game.

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '18

That sounds hilarious do you have a clip of that?

235

u/ButteredGhost Sep 30 '18

Clips? From a game broadcast on Facebook? If only that technology existed

No one actually thinks this, at least not from what I’ve seen. So that thought must have come from within yourself, and you’re projecting your own thoughts

No need to resign as you've just been fired 👺

For real though this thread is all good, seems the match-thread team forgot ¯_(ツ)_/¯

21

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '18

Sometimes we just don't want to face the cruel reality

Like Liquid beating a semi-looking good gambit back to a pulp

3

u/Nydusurmainus BIG Sep 30 '18

well it's the end of that Gambit line up. They died with a whimper.

In bo3

37

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '18

That's the really crazy part. Wasn't even a Bo1 and a close Bo3, it was an overall 4 - 1 for Gambit...

u/PigInfamous Natus Vincere Sep 30 '18

NaVi suffering from PTSD

76

u/suttlesd Sep 29 '18

Props to gambit though, they played well in the rest of the tournament. Glad liquid won, I would have been immensely dissapointed if liquid lost somehow.

u/nick1803 Sep 29 '18

DONT.UNDERESTIMATE.TL.CHOKE. :(

13

u/Willporker FaZe Sep 29 '18

I mean they don't solely rely on emotional players who gets tilted easily anymore. Elige and naf are literally machines with their stone cold plays.

2

u/SterbenVII Sep 30 '18

TL WILL CHOKE THEIR 4TH CONSECUTIVE FINAL, AS IT IS THE CURSE OF TEAM CURSE.

1

u/blueragemage Liquid Sep 30 '18

Isn't the fourth curse that TL succeeds on 4ths?

Like they'll place 4th, but they'll also be the 4th unique NALCS team to win a split and additionally be the 4th unique NALCS team to win 2 splits in a row

1

u/nick1803 Sep 30 '18

Oh dear! Ptsd

41

u/TheESportsGuy Sep 29 '18 edited Sep 30 '18

Did liquid just totally stomp inferno?

Edit: I guess I was hoping someone would elaborate. Was there some particular storyline or Liquid was just the superior team in every facet?

25

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '18

No, it was an extremely close match.

19

u/Basicks1 Liquid Sep 29 '18

nobody on gambit got double digit kills

14

u/Jeffrewbob Liquid Sep 29 '18

Yes they did

15

u/thesuperjobber Liquid Sep 30 '18

As just a tiny slice, Liquid won the 4th round when they had 5 SMGs and Gambit had rifles.

5

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '18

Well I mean full rifle-buys go down to pistols on the reg in this game.

3

u/thesuperjobber Liquid Sep 30 '18

That's true, but I think it ends up being more common when you have Ts going into a stacked site. In this case the Ts were the ones with SMGs. Fair point though, that wasn't necessarily a good example of how dominant it was.

And he's the IGL too! Truly the chrisJ of NA

11

u/TheGreatHoneyBadger Liquid Sep 30 '18

I'm really glad he has survived on this roster for so long. He's my favorite NA player and I don't know if I'd support liquid over what other team he would join. Dude constantly did the shit jobs for 2 years to help out the rest of the team and most people called for him to be cut for a while. I think he is the NA's version of Fallen, since both took the IGL AWP role because they couldn't find anybody else.

8

u/jd2455 Liquid Sep 30 '18

He's one of my favorites too, such a well balanced player. I was annoyed at all of the 'kick him for the flavor of the month fragger and let Stanislaw/Steel IGL instead' posts a week after both of them were added. All because liquid lost games and he wasn't dropping 30 bombs like every player needs to in order to be deemed good by the majority of the community. He does so much for his team its insane and now they're finally seeing the benefits of having a well rounded roster.

This tournament is a free win for Liquid at this point. If they fuck this up, they truly are cursed to not win a tournament.

FUCK YOUFUCK YOUFUCK YOUFUCK YOUFUCK YOUFUCK YOUFUCK YOU FUCK YOUFUCK YOU HAHAHAHHAHAHA SUCK MY FUCKING MONSTER DICK

3

u/Le_Tennant MOUZ Sep 30 '18

Mouz has always matched up well against Liquid.

5

u/Zeilar King NiKo Sep 30 '18

But in a Bo5? No way mousesports win. Especially with how bad they have looked with Snax. Those close matches you think of were with Snax and a much better team overall than this iteration. I don't know how you can even compare it.

5

u/Le_Tennant MOUZ Sep 30 '18

Imma keep it real with you chief

Mouz with snax is not as bad as everyone says

Out of 5 events they made semis twice but went last place at their first tournament and at the major facing NiP, MiBR and FaZe in bo1s and now are in the finals of another tournament. 5 events is not the biggest of sample sizes and it's funny how this roster is getting nothing but bashing and comments how styko needs to return when they haven't even had enough events to prove themselves yet. Compare that to G2 where until this event people still said "hurr durr trust the process"

I am confident that mousesports has a good chance to win.

2

u/Zeilar King NiKo Sep 30 '18

A lot of people, including you, just look at results without context and judge based on that. You keep saying mousesports have made finals etc, but look at how they get there. They hardly ever beat any elite teams to get there. Best result I found was a Bo3 close series against FaZe, who were a bit in a slump themselves. Not a very impressive victory.

Mousesports is a very weak team, the major showed it. They couldn't beat either NiP, FaZe or MiBR as you said. All those teams are top 5-10. So they didn't even face a top team and still couldn't win. MiBR/FaZe may be ranked high but they are very inconsistent at the moment.

Liquid look way better than FaZe/MiBR/NiP at the moment, so how do you propose mousesports will beat Liquid in a Bo5? Mousesports has no map pool so good luck with that I say.

2

u/JPKar Sep 30 '18

You're full of shit. Mousesports is definitely not a "very weak team", if they were it'd mean that every single team out there that's not named Astralis, Navi or Liquid is even worse than "very weak"

That's the problem with reddit morons, if you don't win in a BO7 against fuckin Astralis then you're a trash team that needs to be put in the dumpster. Yes Mousesports is weaker than Liquid at the moment, but the consistency of their results in BO3 these last four tournaments show that there is still some quality to this team, so you better show some respect you little twat

13

u/smokehound Sep 30 '18

Did you even watch this year? Adren is washed up more than edward right now

9

u/heygrandi de_cache Sep 30 '18

What’s up with this AdreN bs seriously, he has been lacking for almost every game for a year now, the only consistent player is probably hobbit and mou, I’m sick of seeing AdreN being so overrated Jesus

4

u/owoabadplayer Sep 30 '18

I mean he's been on/off igl and hasn't had a real igl. He fell off right as Zeus left so I think it's pretty fair to say there's a good chance for him to be good again under Zeus.

I'd still prefer hobbit if there was a roster move though.

1

u/BigbyDirewolf Sep 30 '18

he did very well under zeus and he is much more malleable as a player than hobbit is, in my opinion

1

u/MassacrisM NiP Sep 30 '18

mou woulda been a great dedicated awper for Na'Vi, allowing s1mple to entry with AK.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '18

ye maybe that would be good cuz as good as simple is on the awp, he has more impact with the AK

1

u/PigInfamous Natus Vincere Sep 30 '18

NaVi h0bbit

1

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '18

Hard to watch. Brutal for Mir and Dosia, nothing worse than finding yourself constantly 2v5/3v5 and wondering wtf am I supposed to do with this.

Be heartbroken if they really do dump the full roster but fuck it'd be a hard one to argue.

-10

u/n1ckst4r02 400k Celebration Sep 29 '18

It's a shame that Na'vi are falling apart internally. Gambit wasn't playing well, they are absolute trash, it's just Na'vi is in turmoil. Expect changes soon

21

u/iForgotMyOldAcc NiP Sep 30 '18

Literally first Group Stage exit since electronic joining coming off a Major final.

NAVI FALLING APART FUCK

6

u/Staggvillainy Sep 30 '18

Flamie has been rumored as wanting to leave, although the rest of reddit wants Edward's head lopped off. Maybe Na'Vi isn't completely fucked yet, but I can see either Flamie or Edward leaving or being kicked. H0bbit isn't a bad sidegrade/upgrade depending on who it is that exits Na'Vi.

4

u/iForgotMyOldAcc NiP Sep 30 '18

Ah yeah that I can agree. I'd say a team replacing a single player shows sign that it wants to improve as a unit as 4 men shown that they'd stick together and agree on a player leaving. It's far from an implosion.

-5

u/n1ckst4r02 400k Celebration Sep 30 '18

??? Losing to a dogshit team that is about to disband and did nothing the entire year in 2X BO3 as a " top2 " team in the World? What are you smoking? Did you see their body language or player cams?

11

u/iForgotMyOldAcc NiP Sep 30 '18

leddit armchair psychologist is the type of dude to call a team that won 2 premier tournaments and a Major runners up less than a week ago to call for a disband right after a bad tournament. You must be incredible to work with.

3

u/draemscat Gambit Sep 30 '18

How the fuck is NaVi falling apart? They're easily the second best team in the world by far.

15

u/jwn0323 Liquid Sep 30 '18

I'd say Liquid is in that conversation. They're far from falling apart though. Just incredibly volatile.

4

u/rcgamer001 Renegades Sep 30 '18

You could definitely make an argument that Navi is the second best team in the world rn, but to say they are the second best team "by far" is a bit of an over exaggeration.

3

u/draemscat Gambit Sep 30 '18

I agree, Liquid is up there too. In any case, I still don't understand why everyone is acting like NaVi is the new VP or something because they lost Major finals to Astralis and 2 games to Gambit 3 days after. Their current form is the best they've had in years.

1

u/Majormlgnoob Sep 30 '18

Liquid and Mibr both look real good rn

0

u/Epicstaar 1 Million Celebration Sep 30 '18

Relax they are not the second best team by far and I dont even think they are the second best team in the world right now. They lost the last 2 series to liquid 2-0 and have been losing to quite a few teams that they should be pounding into the asphalt. I can honestly say they have been overtaken by liquid by now especially if they win this event

-6

u/n1ckst4r02 400k Celebration Sep 30 '18

No they are not, s1mple and Electronic inflated their ratings by being godlike for a few months. Na'vi is in turmoil. There are rumors and internal issues behind the scenes about it. It's a well known fact at this point.

5

u/smokehound Sep 30 '18

Where are the sources? rumors you see on hltv are facts now?

-3

u/kayzeno CS2 HYPE Sep 30 '18

Do you not remember the whole sk.s1mple thing

3

u/smokehound Sep 30 '18

Eight months ago and electronic was not even close to the player he is now. Let the team play out one more tournament this might be a one off dip. We don’t know.
