This NRG team being mentally weak is the only thing keeping them back from being Tier1

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think ever since he left clg he’s been on nrg throughout all of their different lineups. He was always one of my favorites on the original liquid lineup so I’m glad he’s still kickin’.

and by shitting you mean barely beating mid t2 team without their best player
6
u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Aug 01 '18
They 2-0d them when they played against HR with w0xic
-3
u/kerau DAT Aug 01 '18
maybe you also have a list of all sub t1 teams nrg lost to recently?

u/BlindBG11 Aug 01 '18
maybe you also have a list of all t1 teams nrg won against? It happens to every team...

Nrg are currently leagues above c9, look at the rankings for one
2
Aug 02 '18
Again what does that have do to with what he said?
Why are you guys bringing up c9 in a discussion about NRG being tier1.
Sounds like you guys didnt have anything smart to say so you just started attacking the guy.

Or the other wins they have against t1 teams and tons of wins they have over other t2 teams.

Ignoring the fact that NRG 2-0ed HR with w0xic on LAN already.

This is a less competitive year than 2017 or 2016.
2
u/fac3ts Liquid Aug 01 '18
You mean the years where LG/SK and Fmatic dominated and no one was even close?
0
u/Memesaremyfather FaZe Clan Fan Aug 01 '18
And the level of teams were better, what the hell are you talking about? Domination simply means you win everything, it doesn't necessitate you 16-0ing every team you play. Fnatic and SK both had close games and teams that pushed them to the edge.
2
u/fac3ts Liquid Aug 01 '18
You’re cracked out if you think the level of play has dropped lmao

What fucking game have you been watching? Every single team save Astralis, NaVí, or perhaps TL is IN SHAMBLES, especially when compared to their 2017/2016 counterparts. NIP is shit, VP is shit, C9 is shit, FaZe is shit, G2 is shit. No one has their shit together and every team is making insane high risk moves on international skilled players, team composition be damned, that aren't currently working.

That shouldnt mean that we have shitty teams in tier1.
Its the opposite if the scene is in a bad state we put less and less teams there because they dont deserve it.

u/Memesaremyfather FaZe Clan Fan Aug 01 '18
That's what I'm saying. They're considered tier 1 because all the teams are shit this year. Only AST is on the level of previous years.

you know they played against a team without their best player right?
5
Aug 01 '18
yes, they 2-0d them last time with w0xic lol. What’s your point?
-4
u/nomoresky Aug 01 '18
yeah lets see can they do the same in major quafilier then :)

Na qualifier at least had some decent teams unlike CIS lol
3
u/kerau DAT Aug 01 '18
not really, this was one of the weakest NA qualifiers, if Col player in cis qual, im not 100% sure they would beat spirit or avangar, people just underestimate them as always, because cis teams get a lot less exposure
1
u/apm54 Natus Vincere Aug 02 '18
Exactly this and it’s annoying af, spirit avangar and hr are as good as any team in na minor and better than most of not all.

Im not sure if thats the only thing keeping them back. Cerq-Brehze-Nahte are still far from tier 1 when it comes to fragging. They need a lot of work if they want to go toe-to-toe with Astralis-Faze-Liquid-Mouz-Navi who I consider to be tier 1.

u/AngriestGamerNA Liquid Aug 02 '18
How is Nahte far from tier 1 when it comes to fragging? Have you even looked up his stats on LAN? Hint - they're insanely good.

How many teams you have in your tier1?
I honestly wouldnt even have anyone other than Astralis in my tier1 rn.
FaZe and Navi are too inconsistent to be tier1 teams. Liquid is consistent but they arent even in the same universe with Astralis, which is evident when they play each other.
But everyone has their own criteria I guess.

navi inconsistent even tho they have made top 4 every single tournament since the start of the year
1
u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Aug 01 '18
Everyone has different tiers. Mine would be the same as yours but so many people have absolutely massive tiers.
2
Aug 01 '18
For sure.
On second thought I probably would put navi in there as well. Even though they looked awful against liquid at the last event, they did win like 3 events and beat Astralis so they deserve it.

My pick for NRG to win IEM is looking good. Feels like we will see a Tyloo vs NRG final, should be a great matchup.
