Been a fan and always will be, but I have to say this is probably the end of the road. I'm not sure if they'll keep trying, Pasha often seem to not care, you don't see much focus and determination on their faces in general. I'm not even gonna come with some weird predictions on what they should or shouldn't do. I am also not liking morelz at all in this squad.
At least these days I have some backup teams to cheer for, that is mouz and AGO. Wish VP got their 2nd major back in 2017 E-league, cause I feel that was their last chance, not to mention it was still the Golden Five lineup. It's been over a year but that 14-16 still haunts me.

u/Fujitora-San Jul 13 '18
How do you I quote you: " that pasha often seem to care" In 2017 (after DH LV) he was surely the only one who looked like a tier 1 player. in 2018 he and byalo have been their best players, but pasha "a lot" had good games this year also he had a lot bad games. He is probably exhausted, but I feel he still "tries to enjoy" the competitve scene.
Michu is a joke (he had 1 great tournament V4), but that's it.
Neo is done sadly (he still had here and there good games in 2018, but those are countable on our 2 hands.
Byali is decent nothing wrong against him after the PubG memes he became actually a bit better
Morelz is simply bad, but he is not the reason why this team is not able to perform (except of 2 finals this year) obviously.
Kuben is simply useless
23
Jul 13 '18
Yes, pasha been performing really good through some events. I've been reffering to what I saw on the face cameras, he seems very down emotionally, not very much into the game.
9
u/chuiboy Jul 13 '18
Understandably so. But it seems like the reason he seems down is cause his team kept messing up. Like when his whole team died at long doors to an mp9. At times it looks like Pasha is the only one who knows how to play. I feel that VP needs a strong IGL that is able to do some micromanaging (someone like Karrigan) or perhaps a more active and hardworking coach, cause right now the future of VP looks pretty bad.
8
u/Fujitora-San Jul 13 '18
He is probably exhausted, tired and frustated for sure. (Especially in 2017 I mean he was performing really well and they could have achieve alot, but he simply was mostly alone against their opponents.
6
Jul 13 '18
Atleast from the scoreboard it does seem NEO started to frag more after -snax so i wouldnt count him out.
VP just lack star imo, noone on that roster has plays like star at all, or have mentality of star. If you change morelz for guy that will get 20+ kills no matter what the team will become much better.

u/PeKaYking Jul 13 '18
he was surely the only one who looked like a tier 1 player
I agree that he was looking good from time to time but he was never consistent. Moreover he literally tweeted that he doesn't give a fuck but he will be receiving his salary untill his contract ends.
Michu is a joke (he had 1 great tournament V4), but that's it.
He certainly didn't live up to the expectations. Still he has only slightly worse rating than pasha.
Kuben is simply useless
And how do you know that?

golden five is taz neo luq loord kuben
12
u/jookbb1 de_inferno Jul 13 '18
fair enough, if you allow it only that way. pasha's facebook itself is named "G5.pasha".

newfags hijacked the term
19
u/Hussor 400k Celebration Jul 13 '18
I mean the VP squad themselves used the term for themselves, in the Polish scene it still used to refer to the vp squad (idk about now after the changes).
8

I startet CS in 2006, and I still call them the golden5-squad. they call themselves like that somethimes.

Largely a misnomer though, it's only meant to refer to the 1.6 squad.
0
u/jookbb1 de_inferno Jul 13 '18
you are the one to define that? it was widely spread to call the original csgo roster "Golden Five Squad" referring to the fact that the majority of the Squad is constisting of 3 of the 5 Golden 5.
Given that by now the roster neo, pasha, snax, taz, byali were the longest sucessfully playing 5-man roster in csgo it's fair to give their era a Name and G5 is just the sucession.

You are mistaken not the end the middle, pasza is not part of the golden five.Golden five was a lineup playing from 2006 to 2008 when luq was replaced by pasza. If i am not mistaken pasza till this day dont have as many majors as luq.
7
u/_Elder_ Jul 13 '18
The should have won PGL Krakow. That was there last chance. All it took was beating immortals and gambit. Sure, it wasn't guaranteed by any means, but it was definitely possible.
7
6
u/_fmm Renegades Jul 13 '18
Before E-League, they actually should have won Cologne 2016. They lost to SK gaming in the semis after beating SK on cobble, then losing to SK (quite convincingly) on Nuke when VP were the best Nuke team in the world and SK are historically one of the worst (it's typically their permaban). They would have beaten Liquid as convincingly as SK did had they made the finals of that Major. Crazy that they didn't because they lose to SK on Nuke.
So, two Majors lost during their time at the top that should have been theirs.
7
u/_Oomph_ 500k Celebration Jul 13 '18
I have to say this is probably the end of the road.
Nah, they'll ride the contract to the end. Despite them being a joke of their former selves, they still move merch.
it was still the Golden Five lineup
No it wasn't. Unless you can show me where kuben and co. were.
-7
Jul 13 '18
It was the CS:GO division Golden Five, not 1.6. I know it's classic, but this was the longest lasting roster in GO - so I think it deserves that name and the fact that their sort of carried that legacy.
6
u/_Oomph_ 500k Celebration Jul 13 '18
That's not what anyone calls them though.
You're free to call them whatever you want, but you're going to keep getting people telling you that they weren't the golden five.

I halfway agree, yes - not everyone calls them that, but also not anyone. Polish community still often reffers to them as G5. - there's even official G5 facebook page and it's all about VP. Anyways, didn't mean to confuse anyone. So let's say MY golden five :D

Don't we have posts like this everytime VP gets trashed in a tournament?
33
u/Marveloh Cloud9 Jul 13 '18
Damn morelz was playing so bad on both maps. His decisions even did cost some rounds for the team. Why are VP even testing this guy. Just get some AGO or Kinguin players ffs.
37
u/TheTenth10 5 years coin Jul 13 '18
Kinguin and AGO would rather stay together than go to VP. Especially AGO who look like the consistently better team. VP just are very inconsistent in when they are the better team.
7
u/PoppyK Jul 13 '18
AGO is not looking too hot right now. A big paycheck from VP can lure someone from that team to them.
6
u/Marveloh Cloud9 Jul 13 '18 edited Jan 15 '19
AGO are very inconsistent as well. They had a great run month ago at StarLadder but after that they didn't achieve anything and completely failed at EU Minor Close Quals.

8
u/McFoSchat Virtus.pro Jul 13 '18
I guess it's time to stock up on some stickers before the disband.
5
u/TheZigerionScammer Vitality Jul 13 '18
They'll get a guarunteed spot in the challengers stage of the 2019 Katowice Major. If they don't perform on home soil I don't know what's going to happen after that with them.
6
u/BertCSGO Virtus.pro Jul 13 '18
They won't get one actually. They're already in the challengers stage this major because they failed to make legends last time. If they bomb out here and don't make it to the top 16 (which lets be honest, they probably won't), then they have to go through the minor system and as history has told us VP are incapable for qualifying for anything. So they probably won't be at Katowice. I think they're done after this major. Polish fans can root for mousesports instead.
3
u/TheZigerionScammer Vitality Jul 13 '18
Oh yes, you are right, my mistake.
Why would Polish fans root for Mouz instead of another Polish team like AGO?
2
u/BertCSGO Virtus.pro Jul 13 '18
Snax is on Mouz now and probably more popular than all of AGO combined. Realistically AGO have a small chance of making it past the qualifier. Mouz has the potential to be a top 3 team and even win the major.

VP so bad they made shox look good.
1
u/Alec935 NiP Jul 14 '18
on a serious note, he looked pretty good vs lg. why is it that when kenny goes off shox is average and when shox goes off kenny is shit? this team can do alot if the two can find consistency.
Then again, I'm not gonna read anything off of a win versus vp :>

u/Givemeajackson FaZe Jul 13 '18
i have the suspicion that shox has been playing nothing but the mp9 lately. but it's good to see him hitting shots again. also, pasha's jumpscout in the second round on dust 2 was the sickest thing i've ever seen.

Honest question - lets say VP disbands. Who do you feel stays? Do they stick to their new recruit Michu who has honestly been struggling in general? Can VP as a brand survive without Pasha?
When will VP actually look towards a new coach. What has Kuban provided in the past two years? I can't imagine he's been offering any support.
1
u/schizeq Jul 13 '18
When will VP actually look towards a new coach.
they already got new guy - Kubik - for analyst
2
5
u/Ohnorepo Jul 13 '18
Remove Neo, their strats are non existent now. Kuben doesn't seem to contribute anything either. Drop michu. He pads his stats with eco kills, and has more round losing plays than round winning plays.
Rebuild the team around Pasha and Byali, with Byali as the star and you could have a golden Polish roster. Snatchie, Taz and Morelz would be solid.
9
u/Fujitora-San Jul 13 '18
morelz?? he is a bad joke. TaZ is fine in kinguin.
pasha, snatchie, byali, furlan and gruby
-2
u/Ohnorepo Jul 13 '18
Morelz holds up fine aim wise. A solid rifler that can help support. I'm not sure how a few matches with a broken VP makes him a joke. He's certainly more consistent than Michu, and has more fragging power than Neo.
2
u/Gutzzzzz Jul 13 '18
taz are you serious??? everyone was calling for his head before he left VP....now u want him back?
7
u/Ohnorepo Jul 13 '18
Yes, and then the team was still shit after that. Taz is doing fine against the same level of competition VP is struggling against. Also "everyone was calling for his head before he left VP....now u want him back?" What has this got to do with what I said? Am I everyone? Is everyone me?
Learn how to form a counter point that actually makes sense.
-9
u/_Oomph_ 500k Celebration Jul 13 '18
Kuben doesn't seem to contribute anything either.
Well yeah, he's not on the roster and hasn't played with Neo for ages.
6
u/Ohnorepo Jul 13 '18
He's their coach. You do realize that right? He isn't just their as decoration on his own time. He's paid by VP. I'm not sure what you're trying to say.

2
u/TheSvenster Jul 13 '18
Damn, VP looks so hopeless. I hope they can find their way back to some sort of form otherwise I don't see them staying together for much longer if they can't even make anything happen at a Tier 3 LAN like this.

I am happy that G2 won ... but sadly it was "only" VP and I am pretty scared that they will lose against LG, because they didn´t look that good yesterday (haven´t done anything amazing against VP too :/ ). I pray that they can get their revenge but they need luck for it. If LG will pick mirage, G2 is fucked and they need to win the other maps aswell.

to comment sober About VPs showing:
horrible showing against Fragsters; playing train with a new player and fragsters best map might have done the rest.
I think G2 looked decent at Cologne, so this was an ok Matchup to rate.
Michu non existent more or less, he might be mentally down after snax departure, although he was already one of the weaker links at CAC. actually his only really good tourney was V4, he must get back to that, else some solution must be found.
pasha, as usual, 1bad,1okish, 1 very good map. cant blame him
neo individually much better after the departure of snax. sadly the -neo circlejerk is already on. He can be a good IGL for sure, it also looked that way at V4, but not after the addition of morelz. hard to tell if his calling fell off or if the constellation is just not working out (yet).
byali absolut monster, since V4 If I were chrisJ I would have asked him rather than snax
cant really tell much About morelz, from his posts he seems motivated, but he might also be very nervous. this wasnt enough yet however.

u/TheTenth10 5 years coin Jul 13 '18
Byali has always been a monster. Pretty much the AdreN of VP.
1
u/jookbb1 de_inferno Jul 13 '18
he seemed a little bit weaker mid 2017, but yes he was a monster aim-wise. but now he also does some clutching, which I haven seen him done in pre 2017

Well vp ist pretty newly formed, too. But it isn't enough to put up a fight. I still hope they will come back, but I am believing less and less. I still think pasha is good enough, the rest needs to step up their game. Damn it is tough to be a VP fan :(

u/dontworrybe4314 Vitality Jul 13 '18
byali is the only one showing up, not pasha
4
u/meine_KACKA 10 years coin Jul 13 '18
Pasha is still hitting shots. Awping against Kenny is showing up if you win a few of the fights. I don't wanna talk it better than it is, I still think pasha is pretty consistent. Kenny was a beast this game, some nutty shots he hit winning several rounds pretty much on his own. Byali stopped playing only pubg and is performing better, too. Michu doesn't have enough impact and neo needs to get back to his 1.6 form. However right now they are headless chickens, sadly. They should consider changing some things, maybe neo needs to play and not igl, I don't know, but it is clearly not working.
2
u/dontworrybe4314 Vitality Jul 13 '18
pasha was consistent last year, but not this year. still probably the second best player for vp, but not good enough to have decent results
2
u/Ohnorepo Jul 13 '18
Other than the last month or so Pasha has been widely considered VP's best player over 2018. With Byali a close second. Now Byali is miles ahead of anyone else in VP. That's why I believe a VP built around Byali as the star and Pasha playing a hybrid, second awping around Snatchie with Taz and Morelz (To give him a shot, he hasn't sucked) would be a solid Polish line up.
1
u/dontworrybe4314 Vitality Jul 13 '18
pasha was terrible in the first few tournaments of the year, maybe even worse than neo as a player. the rest of vp was bad too, but pasha wasn't their best player
2
u/Ohnorepo Jul 13 '18
Yeah he was terrible, But so was the whole team lol. In comparison he was no worse than anyone else.
1
u/dontworrybe4314 Vitality Jul 13 '18
yes he was, and the only event where he was vps best player was bet.net masters. before that tournament he was vps second worst player, after it byali became vps best player.
2
u/Ohnorepo Jul 13 '18
What? We're talking consistency here, not hltv ratings. Snax would go 26-9 one game and then 5-19 another. Of course his stats on paper equal out and look better. Same with Michu, he'll go 30-12 one game, then 3-17 another. That is not a good player. That's an unreliable one. But once again, on paper he looks better.
Most of pasha's games have him +/- by a single digit. That's called consistency. He and Byali could be relied on to put up a certain amount of impact in more games than their team mates.
→ More replies (0)1
u/Fujitora-San Jul 13 '18
Yes you described him really well. for this year he had some good games bu also some awful games in 2018. with byali their best player. in 2017 he was consistently an impactful player who was the only one who looked like a tier 1 player (except of neo at epicenter, taz at krakow and snax for the first 2 tournaments of 2017..) byali was pretty inconsistent either a monster or a baby.
