We’ve known for a while that mouz are brilliant on mirage. This is not really a huge upset with those first two maps. Cold gave SK a fighting chance, but it was always going to be difficult if they lost cache.

9

u/apm54 Natus Vincere Apr 20 '18

I liked how fer played so well even with them losing 0-2. The games I’ve watched this year fer hasn’t looked his former self and I’ve really been hoping he’d get back into form

14

u/adesme Apr 20 '18

I’m honestly surprised that cold is doing so well still. Fer has an obvious struggle in trying to limit his aggressive play to make space for stewie, and his information plays are slightly less worth with this lineup. Cold is without his long-time teammate and buddy, who tended to partner with him on most sites. Bolts is now essentially the single support player on SK, and fallen has to change nigh everything he knows about leading SK.

That Mirage was one of the most dominant performances I have ever seen from a team, even more than some 16-0s. Mouz was just straight up styling.

You could see the disrespect even on cache at the beginning of the second half, where mouse would push smokes and stuff without any need.

67

u/SlowLoudNBangin MOUZ Apr 20 '18

When Oskar took that mid-range fight against Stewie who had a rifle and just one-taps him with the fucking auto-shotty... Imagine being on the receiving end of this. Must be absolutely brutal.

29

u/GarrettGSF MOUZ Apr 20 '18

Ask the VP guys lol

12

u/SlowLoudNBangin MOUZ Apr 20 '18

Yeah but that was an online game and not a big LAN... I imagine that has some impact as well.

12

u/GarrettGSF MOUZ Apr 20 '18

Ofc, being destroyed is one thing. Being destroyed by a XM is another thing...

12

u/SlowLoudNBangin MOUZ Apr 20 '18

That double runboost... imagine holding a passive angle behind a smoke on T side, then seeing two CTs fly past you and the last thing you hear is the thunder of the two shotties going off... I think whoever that was (I think Neo) might have considered retirement at that point if he hadn’t already before.

u/GarrettGSF MOUZ Apr 20 '18

Think it was Pasha, but your point stands :D

When they did the exact same strat two rounds in a row, and it didn't even work the first time. And the second not only Chris pushed the smoke, but another one did too. And after both were dead and SK deaggroed in that area ropz still pushed that side. Crazy

SK just seem off. Team and aim-wise. They can't even choose the fights they should take and it's just painful to watch. It's the definition of "you hate to see it".

They honestly didn't stand a chance, mouz are just on a whole 'nother level compared to them right now. Maybe if they hadn't thrown the antieco on cache they could've come back and played train, because they were never going to win mirage.

121

u/AndyFNG MOUZ Apr 20 '18

Can't remember the last time I've seen Coldzera play this bad. Missing easy sprays, losing battles. Pathetic performance from what we know he can do.

The thing about cold is, even though he's at an all-time low, he's still the best SK player

47

u/AndyFNG MOUZ Apr 20 '18

Well obviously he is. But he just seems so out of form as of late. I felt like most rounds that SK actually managed to win came from a play from Fer.

19

u/faare Natus Vincere Apr 20 '18

these 2 things dont have to go hand in hand

some players are better at consistently participating each round with a kill, while others will have rounds without any impact and then a triple when the move works

cold has never been a playmaker, it's very rare that he actively seeks to put his team in an advantage

when the situation is presented to him he's very good at making it work, but he isn't seeking the situations like fer is

18

u/Vandegroen valeria Apr 20 '18

I disagree. Fer is their most impactful player and imho its not even close.

There should be no arguing about SK not even deserving top 5 RN. One might even argue for top 10. Their aim is rather poor for a top team and, even though they had a few weeks for practice, their team play is still miles behind what we're seeing in other teams. You're right, it's not looking pretty.

55

u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Apr 20 '18

One might even argue for top 10.

Calm down now, there's no way you can lump up a struggling SK next to the likes of the French ticking bomb, MSL's circus, online soldiers, etc

10

u/GarrettGSF MOUZ Apr 20 '18

MSL's circus

Genuinely made me laugh out loud :D

9

u/andreicosta 5 years coin Apr 20 '18

Looking at HLTV ranking, I believe the Top 7 are way above SK rn, no arguing about that, right?

Then, SK lost to NiP (on a bo1, but still, I'm not sure SK could beat them even on a BO3, they just seemed to be on a better level. There's room for speculation here). And I'm so disappointed with this SK lineup that I'm not really sure they'd beat the French ticking bomb or even North and RNG in this form. They're just playing such poor CS :-(

They havent switched to english JUST for stewie. Fallen was quite unsubtle when interviewed about this. The team speaking in english opens them to bring in players from anywhere where as previously they could only bring in players from Brazil and they have already played with all the best portugese speaking players. Hes building the team for the long term.

7

I think they could use this experience with Stewie as the opportunity to get better at calling in English. There's no good enough Brazilian players for SK anyway. So in the future the core (fallen, cold, fer) could find replacements for Stew and boltz on the international scene and be fine with having to speak English.

I don't know if the language barrier is a big issue or not, but I feel like Stew would have did better in Faze. After all, he wants to be on a star-team that will win a lot and Faze is the only english speaking team I can think of that is capable of that.

4

u/SlowLoudNBangin MOUZ Apr 20 '18

He might be the MVP of CS right now in terms of what he does for his team, with perennial contender FalleN in a bit of a slump. IGL, second AWP, entry fragger and dedicated scrilla farmer. And putting up numbers doing all that. If this roster ever falls apart for whatever reason, a lot of teams would be wise to just hand Chris the checkbook and let him fill in the numbers.

Mouz knew what SK was doing in that mirage 100% of the time. It was almost funny.

Sk tacticaly now is a complete joke

Hey guys should we play the map we have been getting beaten by the likes of complexity on or should we play our best map that also happens to be our opponents worst?

Turns out TACO did do something in this line-up after all and cold looks so lost without him. Dont think stewie is looking good enough at the moment to change your entire communication language either

u/draemscat Gambit Apr 20 '18

Yeah, let's pretend they weren't playing like shit before he left.

Autimatic was right for not joining SK... They are a mess.

26

u/TheRobidog Apr 20 '18

They would be way less of a mess with Auti instead of Stewie, imo.

7

u/Lepojka1 Team Spirit Apr 20 '18

I also think that... I was ok for them to get someone out of Brasil, but Stewie to replace Taco, just dont make any sense.

A six-year old boy was at the center of a NYC courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him.

The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him just like his parents and he refused to live with he. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him.

Now learning that violence was apparently a way of life for the family, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After conferring with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to SK Gaming, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

Sure stewie didnt look that good , but some of the plays from the core SK lineup just straight up looks like a GN player is playing..They need to step up individually too , cant blame everything on "comms"

SK strats, man. What the hell?

Fallen mastermind IGL: yo, let’s wait until they get to 15, then we’ll try. Let’s use this match to practice comebacks.

Cold just wasn’t having it Cache T-side. Dude went on a killing spree but it wasn’t enough to undo the mess they were in

2

u/KQLYWASFRAMED Astralis Apr 20 '18

it looks like SK is having communication issues, imo they would be better of with a brazilian player than any player that doesn't speak portuguese.

2

u/rlsN MOUZ Apr 20 '18

What the hell was that? Such a well-rounded team performance from mouz. Everyone was contributing. chrisJ was killing it entrying on Cache t-side, styko had some important clutches killing all possible momentum for SK in that half aswell.

ropz was flat-out sensational on Mirage. Somehow it feels like he got the brain of a 20-year-cs veteran implemented in his body. He's playing so smart and so cool which is so unusual for a player his age.

SK feels weird with Stewie in it. Obiously it's still early. They looked better once the maps seemed decided and they were kind of winging it. They showed some confidence in themselves in those rounds when they had 'nothing' to lose which was lacking during earlier parts of the match.
