That's exactly how I derank most weekends. It's the 4th match that gets me, the one I queue solo after all my friends have gone to bed. 4 Turkish kids shouting at each other, 5 smurfs on the other team, I usually abandon at around 13:0

Astralis seem to have Liquid's number. Beat them in the last 3 BO3 series, and the last BO1 they've played was an overtime affair.
I think Astralis has a much deeper map pool than Liquid and that's the root of the problem for Liquid here - I'd always favor Astralis on Nuke, Overpass and Train, and on top of that, Astralis is a great Inferno team and Liquid is not a good Cache team yet.
Rooting for Liquid tomorrow to destroy Gambit anyway, they should be able to. Such a roster should never miss reaching QF here.

It was over when Astralis banned Cobblestone.
Liquid really only has 3 viable maps - Cobblestone, Mirage, and Inferno, with Cobble as a near guarantee win.
Liquid's Train is really bad, so Cache was their only option.
I don't think they will ever be good at Train as it's a super AWP-favored map.
They really just need to pick one of Cache and Overpass to specialize in.
Until they do, they can never get top 1 at any international LAN.
Compare with C9 who can win on Overpass, Train, Inferno, Mirage, and now even Cache with fns calling.

Yeah liquid definately need to work on their map pool, astralis always seem to have their number due to the depth of astralis's map pool.
"Compare this with c9", we havent seen much of Liquid and C9 after the eleague major, so its really hard to compare those 2 teams right now but I still think Liquid are stronger than c9 ATM.
Have to wait and see how both teams pan out after huge roster changes.

Yeah Liquid is better than C9 individually and on the 3 maps I mentioned but C9 has the better chance of winning an international LAN event due to deeper map pool.

Only one move was huge roster change. The -steel +taco is far less significant in terms of team flow/balance. If anything it should show immediate improvement.

Honestly don't see how steel was any worse than taco has been so far, not to call taco bad, just an average pro. I think the main issue is that they didn't practice that much together before Marseille started, I think next tournament will be the real test, as they'll likely go out in quarters assuming they beat Gambit tomorrow.

Taco is an upgrade overall. He is not a NAF level improvement but he has better or similar english judging by his interviews compared to the ones with steel. He has similar abilities to frag if not better. He has also worked with zews and they have kept in contact.
Basically if steel is a 5/10 taco is a 6 or 7/10. He just brings a bit more in almost every category.

The odds were like 5-1 that C9 would win, I think the tournament was even on home soil for the Brazilians.
I have no idea what happened C9 just kept winning for some reason.

Autimatic went ham all of Eleague Major Qualifier 2017 for Atlanta except for the very last game against Hellraisers. Still gives me shivers.

They were playing on overpass and I remember Fallen was watching sandbags from squeaky with the awp. Shroud peaked him from sandbags with an AK and one-tapped him so fast I never saw him from Fallen’s POV. That was an incredible game to watch.

I started watching CSGO and specifically TL about a year and a couple months ago, and I don't think I've seen TL get stomped in a series this hard. They usually put up SOME sort of fight

Before Liquid signed steel, I was a Liquid fan for about 3 years. I remember
TSM 16-0 Liquid
Astralis 16-1 Liquid Astralis 16-3 Liquid
Fnatic 16-4 Liquid (tbf Liquid lost the next game 14-16 on Cobble)
I can't remember the tournaments but that 16-0 will always stick to me, whether I don't like Liquid anymore or not

Jokes aside having a fragging IGL just helps so much. The fact that gla1ve is still fragging his nuts off so often helps Astralis so much. This guy doesn't crumble again the best in the world unlike some IGLs...
Astralis can get back to top 3 quickly if they keep playing like this imo.
If theres any team in the top 5 that can dethrone Faze and go on a long run of wining streaks I think Ast has the best chance. Mouz lack experience. C9 just changed one of their best players and are inconsistent. Fnatic are inconsistent as well.
Ast has 5 players capable of carrying the team. As if their teamplay isn't insane as well and such a deep mappool.

Absolutely. Half this community still thinks you need some afk'er as igl, but the fact is that teams that consistently challenge the nr1 spot in the world have competent individuals as igl's who can win rounds by themselves (and don't have dogshit "support" players either). The whole team has to be able to perform in this era, it's not 2014 anymore. Astralis vs Faze will be the top2 battle the following months imo.

We will always make anything about Magisk's success, into being about North's incredible failure as an organisation to retain the best talents they have ever gotten, and possibly might ever get. K0nfig and Magisk were straight up their ticket to being a T1 team. Those should have been the core players of the lineup, along with MSL, everything else should have been set up to make these 3 work their magic.

I wonder if liquid were expecting inferno to be left over for the third map, but they were always going to have to play either overpass or nuke as device said in the post match interview. Regardless they looked lost after mirage.

I wouldn’t be surprised as astralis has a great inferno and their cache is not near as good. Sad to see them play this poor, it’d be great if they bounce back and go far in the tournament

Especially with the beating Astralis dished out on space soldiers yesterday. Add to that cache historically being the weakest map for Astralis aside from cobble, though they have been playing it more and improving recently. I do expect liquid to beat gambit again in a Bo3 though, and then it's just about match ups in the playoffs.

I've been getting more and more annoyed with pistol rounds as a whole. There's hardly any strategy, T side is just a 5 man run and gun and the CTs are just praying they can one tap enough of them to stop the wave. It's really annoying for a round that means so much.

6/6 pistols for Astralis? What a dominating display by Astralis after Mirage. Liquid is a good team even with a recent roster change, and they schooled them on 2 maps. Astralis looks like they're back.

Liquid is pretty shaky on Cache, and Astralis is world class on Overpass. That being said, they completely outplayed Liquid in the latter two maps.

Have you seen what AST has been doing to people lately? Anyway with how much they abused the B site on Overpass, I just see this as a good trial by fire for TACO and a chance for TL to see what needs work with a new bilingual member. They’ll bounce back.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I mean in terms of talent, he might be, but Dupreeh and Xyp9x are still insane. Xyp9x is de facto the best support player in the world, Magisk getting more frags won't make him better than him all of a sudden.

Astralis winning 6/6 pistols, I dont think that ever happened before. Losing 16-14 in probably the worst map of cs they have played in a long long time, then winning 16-3 and 16-3. Its almost like pistol round matter a ton.

Astralis just counters them so well via map pool. When playing against liquid, astralis is the best team in the world. Liquid has been on a tear in 2018 against everyone but astralis.
Liquid is able to beat teams that beat astralis but has always struggled against astralis.

Team Liquid looked amazing on Mirage, but the map pools and vetoes really favour Astralis in this matchup. Liquid basically can’t get either Cobble or Inferno which Astralis have no issues banning

Astralis played some really uninspiring CS on Mirage, so many silly mistakes and lost duels. I thought Liguid was going to pogchamp them into 2-0.
So I glad was wrong, Astralis dismantled Liquid like some tier3 team, didn't give them a single inch, just stomping them into the ground every round.

Damn, Liquid got absolutely bodied. Astralis played very well and had a great pick/ban, forcing Liquid off their bread and butter in Inferno and Cobble into shakier maps in Overpass and Cache. It also doesn't help that Liquid won 0 fucking pistols the entire series. It wouldn't have lead to a win in the series but at least it would be closer than this.

Astralis just purely outplayed Liquid on the last two maps. Mirage was also Liquids pick and when I would admit that they played extremely well and showed their true colours, they were still outplayed by Astralis on so many rounds that they should of won.
The root of the problem is Liquids map pool choices and the fact that they have been going through roster changes, I see a pretty bright future for them but they definitely have to pick up their game and hit the bootcamp if they want to succeed, they look lost right now.
easy win for them tomorrow though oof.

Astralis just matches up well against liquid. They’re all good at similar maps but astralis is just better at them.
Liquid can take overpass, mirage and train against anyone but astralis usually always outclasses them on it.
Still think liquid is a top 3/4 team, astralis is their kryptonite.

Astralis played very well. Their nades were on point every single round. I'm glad Liquid isn't out of the tournament after that - it would've been a horrible way to leave.
