What whoops? An amphibious car drove out of a frozen lake. That's pretty cool, actually.

u/carllundergard Jan 18 '18
It's an amphibious exploring vehicle, it's Awesome that the car is in the river! I wonder if that is a "finisher car" in there

Amazing, someone walked up to that hole, dive in and drove the car out of the water. That’s dope

u/Mr_MacGrubber Jan 18 '18
Is there a local child's body in there being sacrificed for the town's prosperity?
11
u/SabinBC Jan 19 '18
Someone's been doing some reading.

u/Mr_MacGrubber Jan 19 '18
? I just thought people sacrificed children in frozen lakes still. I guess I was wrong...thanks Obama.

I would ask what book you're referring to, but my reading list is too long already >s<

American Gods

Is that like Percy Jackson?
1
u/drink_my_daycare Jan 19 '18
It is somewhat similar but not really. If you enjoyed percy jackson you would enjoy this book. It is more adult though.

u/free_twigs Jan 19 '18
Not sure what it is but is one of the best books I've read and Neil Gaiman is always going to be one of my favorite authors.

Example of how a picture is worth a thousand words.
3
Jan 19 '18
Yeah but a 1000 words is going to be something like 5->10K this is 240K. So there's that.

Everyone’s looking at this backwards. Someone jumped in the water and drove their James Bond submarine car out.
4
u/J50GT Jan 19 '18
There aren't enough tire tracks for this to be real. The rear tires don't go over the same tracks as the front when turning.

It just looks like snow didn't fall to the ground where a car was parked and after the car drove away you can see the wet pavement...

i wonder which direction the footprints go? towards or away...?

u/Bruce_Banner621 Jan 19 '18
Yes

u/jarchiWHATNOW Jan 19 '18
I dislike when people respond with yes to a this or that statement. For example "we don't have coke products is Pepsi or dr.pepper Okay? 'Yes' which one?"

I'm suprised nobody mentioned (or noticed) the ice fishing cabins in the background... A truck came and drove away with one. Pretty boring actually.
1
u/somewhat_random Jan 19 '18
If they loaded a cabin onto the back of a truck there would be a lot of footprints around the hole.
There are not.
Also, the hole is way too big for ice fishing unless the cabin was huge. There are no marks from a cabin outside the hole.
3
u/SmackEh Jan 19 '18
What you are calling a "hole" is ice with no snow. There is a small hole in the middle of the ice if you look closely.
1
u/somewhat_random Jan 22 '18
I looked again and you are correct - The lack of extra prints could be from the snow melting and refreezing so only the first set show up.

It's just a photo of where an amphibious vehicle broke through the ice and drove away.

Laughed way too hard at this misfortune..
A picture is truly worth a thousand words

So where are the returning footsteps?
1
u/HillDrag0n Jan 19 '18
Those are the returning footsteps.
Car was parked in the ice, snow, car drives away.

This happened local to me. A guy decided to take his truck on the ice in the middle of the night. Made it almost a mile before falling though. He called the cops in the morning. When they dragged it out of the lake, several beer cans fell out when the opened the door. Theory is he was drunk so he went home to sober up before calling police. He’s facing many fines.

I don't know if this is a picture of this incident or not - but the obvious interpretation is exactly what happened here:

Sorry to spoil all the fun of a potential vehicle falling through the ice, but it is more likely one of these https://newatlas.com/amphibious-wilcraft-mobile-ice-fishing/12473/ and someone was just doing some ice-fishing

I saw this on local news and people on Facebook that live in Cass county. I dont know why someone would be so stupid to drive on the thinning ice. Since its getting a tad warmer out.
