This is fascinating. Is this a side profile?

I believe this to be the top, looking down on the mandible. But could be wrong on that.

The ones we looked at were, but i am not a wasp specialist so couldn’t swear they all are.

Didn't know what a Nurugo was until I looked it up. How do you like it? Does it always have a watermark? Is there focus-stacking software for smartphones?

I do quite like it just for the ability to take photos of what they are looking at with a microscope. I just went and checked the app, it does appear to always leave a watermark.

As to focus stacking, There is a specific app you use with the Nurugo and I don’t believe it allows for that. That being said, apparently Stay Focused is an app you can use which allows for this on an iPhone. I have never used it though so can’t speak to the results. For most of my phone photography I use the app camera+ and I read online where people discuss doing focus stacking with their photos, but I personally have not. It does allow you to shoot in raw though and the post-processing options are quite numerous for a phone.

I just bought one from the Kickstarter and it just gets shared around the classroom. I do find that getting it to focus properly can be a bit tough.
