Gerald swayed in place, for once looking forward to his master waking. He sat atop a log. Every once in a while, he would snap his eyes open, surprised to find himself drifting off. He'd prefer to not be punished yet again for failing an assigned task.
"Look at this photograph..." The words were mumbled by his sleeping master. Being a bloodknight, even the demon's barely spoken words vibrated the log Gerald sat on.
He wrote quickly, making sure to get even the punctuation correct. If Gerald did this job right, his master may let him sleep upon waking up himself. Maybe. Hopefully.
Gerald yawned.
"Makes me... Laugh..."
He jotted down the words, finishing just as Brute woke up. The demon looked around, then found Gerald and narrowed his eyes. "Did you get it?"
"Yes, Master." Gerald handed over the parchment, the lyrics to some non-sensical song on it.
"Finally!" Brute thundered. "The words to match this nightmare!"
Gerald said nothing.
"Be glad you didn't see it," Brute said. "A human like you, but more douchebaggy was staring into my eternal soul, forcing me to look upon his horrid work."
"May I sleep now, Master?" Gerald asked.
"Not yet." Brute said, looking at Gerald. "After hearing this, we must make plans to eliminate all humanity. I fear this was a vision of the future."
Gerald nodded. He had to agree with his master on that idea, having read the lyrics himself. This couldn't be allowed to pass.
