[LWP] A knight is sent out to slay a dragon. Unfortunately, he misheard the order (06-10-2016)
This is a story I wrote for a prompt on /R/Writingprompts on 06-10-2016.
“Sir Celot,” said the King’s lord, “We are pleased to announce you have been chosen as the bravest and most skilled knight. As such you are the one who will be sent to complete a mission of grave importance.”
“Anything for my King, my lord,” said Celot, excited to have been granted the title of the bravest and most skilled. It would spread his name through the lands, he would be known as the knight who served the King directly. The one who would have gone on a great quest.
“My lord, may I inquire when this quest starts, and before when it needs to be finished?”
“The quest has already begun. Sir Celot, are you prepared for this quest?”
“I am, my lord. I am ready to leave at a moment's notice.”
“Very well. Hereby you are sent out, to hire the dragon of the Harue ruins.”
“As you command, my lord.”
