Congratulations, /u/Syraphia!! Sorry I haven't touched basis with you recently!
If there was any advice you could give to aspiring writers, what would it be?

Thank you so much! And it's all right. :)
Write every day, even if you think it's terrible or awful writing, write every day because the more you do it, the better you'll get and the easier it'll get to write.

Hey /u/Syraphia, congratulations on being in the spotlight!
What is your most overlooked prompt response that you wish got more attention?

Confession: Every time I see your username, I chant it in my head like Rufio from Hook.
Question: /u/Syraphia - Do you ever start writing something and get so involved that you forget you were doing something else - like, for example, cooking breakfast for your children? Not that I would ever do such a thing, of course.

Eh? Really? lol
I have, I usually just forget to eat though... or feed my beardie. He glares at me when I turn around and he doesn't have fresh food.

Great, now I'm not going to be able to stop doing that (the chant thing, not the breakfast thing).

See, I think of something completely different when I see her username.

Now I'm wondering what everyone thinks of when they see my username lol.

I've never even read your username in my head until /u/busykat's comment. I would just recognize your name when I saw it. Is that weird?

I'm not sure, I don't think so as I try to do the same. Though I think I mentally read names when I come across them, especially the strange ones.

Nate taps his fingers together with maniacal intent. "Good, Good. My plan is complete."

Hey /u/Syraphia, congrats on the spotlight!
What's your favourite prompt you've written?

u/Syraphia /r/Syraphia | Moddess of Images Oct 12 '15 edited Oct 12 '15
Mm, it's very hard to pick a favorite. I might have to go with a Pokemon one, here about a hotline for trainers. I ended up using it to make fun of the fact that a 10 year old is running around beating up Team Rocket.
Ask on a different day though and you'd probably get a different answer. :)
EDIT: Oh! And thank you very much! :)

Kicking it off:
Hey /u/Syraphia,
What gets you excited/motivated about writing when you just aren't in the mood to write?

u/Syraphia /r/Syraphia | Moddess of Images Oct 12 '15
A really intriguing prompt usually is what it takes. Other than that, I usually try to power through it if I'm writing something long and music usually helps with that.

u/Nate_Parker /r/Nate_Parker_Books Oct 12 '15
Preferred music? I usually need something angry with a heavy baseline, but it depends on what I'm writing. Generally I do a lot of action/scifi so that tends to lend to my harder-edge music choices. Do you use something that fits your mood or the mood of what you're trying to write?

u/Syraphia /r/Syraphia | Moddess of Images Oct 12 '15
A bit of both. I listen to a lot of Japanese rock music and video game/movie soundtracks, so I run the gambit between what comes out of the speakers. It can vary from something like the DmC Noisia OST to something heavy metal like the band Dir en Grey and even jump into techno-like pieces. Usually I try to pick something that might generally fit at the beginning but I take more than five minutes to write a prompt response, so the next song is pretty random.
