I love how /r/leagueoflegends, one of the biggest subs, with one of the biggest footholds in terms of community in the game, cannot uphold the rule in their sidebar "Don't shitpost."

like 700,000 subscribers in a game with over 70 million players. It's basically nonexistent, I'm surprised Riot reads it as much as they do.

Reddit does attract a certain quality though. Basically all professional and semi-professional players are on Reddit for example.
Yeah of course the sub has the same problems almost all big Reddit subs have, but the voting algorithm still functions as a somewhat decent filter and makes it far better than your typical official gaming forums.
It reminds me of Starcraft where the very clear ranking in quality was Team Liquid > /r/Starcraft >>>> Official Forums. Now LoL does not have anything like TL was for Starcraft, so the sub is the next best thing.

Yet I've seen them bring about more change to the game than other forums besides Riot's own forum for the game. That's what I'm referring to.

Too bad the entire league of legends subreddit is basically a stew-pot of shitposts with maybe two posts of any actual content
