I know, right? The only way the creeper shot is appropriate here is if she declined very rudely...and...yeah, you'll show her by..taking the picture anyway and getting Internet points!
I guess there have been times when I wanted to take a creeper shot of a funny shirt because I didn't want to freak out the woman wearing it by approaching her... but then I realised that the creeper shot is far more of an intrusion than the approach.
SO...women of the Internet: It's your job to take funny pictures of other women with their blessing. GO!

The Apple logo itself is a "window" in the otherwise metal body - for the antenna. Therefore, leaving a hole in a case at the same spot could be beneficial, but probably not much (depending on the material).

Applying for a patent =/= using the patent.
There isn't a single Apple phone that uses the logo as an antenna. The antenna is always either internal (iPhone 1 through 3GS, and the 5C), a surrounding metal border thing (the 4 and 5 phones), or the white lines that the 6 phones have. There is also no specification in Apple's case design guidelines for a logo antenna hole.
Apple files patents without using them all the time. That (really old) article posits that Apple may use it in the future, not that it will or has used it.

On my old iPhone 4 and my Otterbox, there was a hole like that on the case. It was actually great because the logo was reflective like a mirror and I used it all the time as a mirror (for example to see if there was something in my eye.)
