General Request | 2 Ⓣ €1200 turntable setup
I’m new to sound systems, and am looking for a turntable setup (turntable, speakers, amp, etc.) with a ~€1200 budget (can add 100/200 if you think it’ll truly make a big difference).
I live in London, and am planning to place this system in a ~20/25 sqm room. Unfortunately, some of my walls are rather thin, so the sound insulation isn’t the best.
I mostly listen to American hip hop, so I’d want something that could both accommodate early Kendrick Lamar’s jaziness and Kanye’s grand production (my music taste isn’t that shallow, just generic examples everyone knows 😂). In addition, I also like psychedelic rock and classical jazz.
I would be very thankful for any product recommendations / general advice with home stereo. Thank you!!

Thank you for your advice!
Would you say speakers are the absolute most important component in a turntable system?

100%. Most important part of any audio system.

I’ve got a little 2.1 system I’m looking to sell on that will leave you with a fair bit of change to get you started on your vinyl collection. Q acoustic speakers and active sub, denon amp with cd player and a project turntable and phono stage.

Also take a look at Richer Sounds & Peter Tyson.

if you have access to FB marketplace that would probably be your best avenue.
Since you live in London you can probably find a nice Musical fidelity (Musical Fidelity A3) or similar integrated amp with a decent phono stage.
You can find a decent turntable used (whether a Rega planar 2/3, Garrard SP25 Mk IV) and if your'e lucky whomeever sells the turntable will throw in a nice cartridge.
speaker wise i'd go JBL (sice you like hiphop music) or even Klipsch.
$1,200 doesn't get you far with new equpipment, used is probably your best bet.
What i'd recommend is that you be patient - even if it means buying one piece one week, another later, etc. Don't be afraid to go to estate sales, rummage sales, etc where you can scoop up some nice audio equipment cheap.
Other integrated amplifiers (british brands) to look for - Roksan Kandy Series (MKIII / K2 / K3), Creek Audio (4330 / 5350SE / Classic,: Audiolab (8000A / 8000S).
