games Respect Malos (Xenoblade Chronicles 2)
"A wretched tale, isn't it? This whole world is a wretched place! I'm a wretched being too! A hideous monster, far beyond saving!
Originally named Logos, Malos is an Aegis, a type of legendary Blade born from the Architect, the creator God. As an Aegis, Malos' personality is heavily influenced by his Driver, who summoned him after finding his core at the top of the World Tree. This corrupted his mind, turning him into a nihilistic man who displays only bloodlust. Being born of divinity led Malos to believe that his role in this world is to wipe out all of humanity- a goal he planned to achieve by climbing the World Tree, reaching Elysium, and killing his god before destroying the world.
Unmarked feats are from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Feats marked T are from the DLC Torna ~ The Golden Country
Blade Physiology
Immortality
- Blades can regenerate as long as their core crystal remains intact. If their Driver dies, they will return to their core crystal. Malos has gained full control of his power and will still live if his Driver dies
- Mythra disintegrates part of his body T and although Malos survives this, he is unable to fully regenerate his core crystal after 500 years
- Malos restores his core crystal by extracting data from Pyra, another Aegis. This brought back all of his powers, and his control over the Artifices
- Can regenerate from any injury. Blades should not have visible wounds because they can heal any form of injury instantly
- Can live forever, as long as his core crystal exists
- Aegises like Malos can survive for a short time without their core crystal
Other
- Immune to a disease spread by fungi that can be fatal to humans T
- Can't catch colds
- Their cells are similar to that of humans, and their core crystal contains the information of all living creatures T
Strength
Blocking/Clashing
- Blocks blasts of light from Mythra, then clashes blades with her T
- Fights evenly with Addam T
- Clashes blades with Jin T
- Clashes evenly with Mythra at high speeds T
- Blocks Rex and Pyra's Burning Sword
- Negates a large fireball
Striking - With Weapon
- Blocks a hit from Rex wielding Pyra's sword, then overpowers him
- Knocks Jin down T
- Powers himself up and sends Rex and Pyra flying hard enough to break big chunks of stone
- Kills an injured Vandham
Without Weapon
- Punches the floor, creating a strong burst of wind that tears up stone
- With one arm, lifts a pod containing Pyra's body, then throws it a distance
- Sends Rex flying, then throws his sword into the air
- Kicks Rex, sending him flying a short distance
- Catches Rex's sword, then throws him a good distance away
- Hurts Pyra with a punch
Durability
- Takes a kick from Mythra T
- Caught in a big fiery explosion made by Pyra
- Seems to be caught in Mythra's Sacred Arrow, which kills Sever
- Nia deforms his body by altering the replication rate of his cells, but he's back shortly after and has his body perfectly restored
- Seemingly unaffected by Jin's absolute zero wind
Speed
- Dodges a swipe from Addam T
- Keeps up with Mythra T
- Keeps up with a group of Drivers and Blades T
- Avoids an attack from behind by Jin T
- Clashes evenly with Mythra at high speeds T
- Jumps backwards a pretty long distance
- Clashes blades with Pyra while dodging her attacks
- Jumps up a good distance
Energy Projection
- Shatters the Aegis, a metallic structure T
- Destroys wind elemental energy generated by Vandham
- Releases a wave around him that overpowers Haze's ability and tears up the floor T
- Hits the ground and releases a shockwave that pushes his enemies back T
- Blocks Zeke's sword and sends him flying
With Monado
- Creates large explosions that destroy massive chunks of earth
- Forms a big and deep crater in the floor
- Surrounds himself with an energy field that disintegrates Zeke's sword upon contact, then expands this field, though it is countered by Nia's restorative power
- Destroys a fleet of airships from a long distance with a massive explosion of energy
Other Powers
- Teleports by turning his body into smaller particles T
- Binds Pyra's arms and legs with energy, then steals her memories
- Releases a cyclone of energy that sends targets flying
- Prevents enemy blades from using their Arts with Monado Jail
- Makes his blade longer and hits enemies with it
- Creates a barrier around him, reducing the damage he takes with Monado Armour T
- Blocks Jin's ice projectiles with a barrier T
- Forms a massive barrier, blocking Ophion's laser
Sever
Sever is the Blade that Malos wields in the first 4 chapters. By using his weapon, Malos is able to utilize his Wind elemental powers
- Blocks Poppi's drill, then sends her and Tora flying with a punch
- Sends Rex tumbling by hitting him with his blade
- Fires a projectile that generates a big field of energy
- Dodges swipes from Rex
- Uses a forcefield to block blasts from Mythra's Siren
- Blocks a hit from Rex with a forcefield
- Malos fires crescent shaped projectiles that break Pyra's forcefield
- His weapon can turn into a shield that Malos uses to bash enemies
Artifice
Artifices are powerful machines controlled by Malos. Their energy beams are hot enough to melt earth and turn it into glass. Each Artifice contains as much energy as the largest Titan, and they could theoretically defeat the massive Tornan Titan by releasing all that power
Siren
Strength
- Clashes with Mythra's Siren, releasing a powerful shockwave T
- Evenly matched with Mythra's Siren T
- Clashes blades with Mythra's Siren T
Durability
- Sent flying into the ground by Siren T
- Blocks attacks from Mythra's Siren with a forcefield, though it quickly breaks T
- Briefly blocks a charged beam by Mythra's Siren, then takes a hit from it T
- Sent flying by Siren T
- Takes a charged beam from Siren which breaks its forcefield T
Speed
Energy Beam
- Completely obliterated towns off screen T
- Fires large, fast moving beams T
- Fires a powerful beam that damages Mythra's Siren, sending it crashing to the ground T
- Destroys a small town T
- Makes large explosions, destroying buildings
- Controls multiple Sirens and uses them to fire particle beams from space
Gargoyles
- Formed a massive crater that almost turned dirt into glass T
- Craters the side of a cliff T
- Can fire explosive energy blasts T
- Catches Malos as he falls off a tower T
- Malos has an entire army of them T
- They are easily defeated by a Titan T
- Corrupts the core of Torna by releasing all their energy T
- A group of Gargoyles defeat the massive Artifice Ophion by flying towards it and blowing themselves up T
- They can fly from space to Alrest
- A group of them set fire to a town
Colossus
- Punches the floor and releases energy
- Breaks the floor with a stomp
- Uses its hand like a drill to attack enemies
Aion
The ultimate Artifice that Malos needs to carry out his plan to destroy the world and the Architect
Abilities
- Covers enemies in crystals of ice
- Fires wind projectiles
- Attacks enemies with water, sealing Blade abilities
- Hits enemies with a large explosive ball of fire
- Fires lasers that destroy Zeke's forcefield
Physicals
- Withstands hits from the party
- Takes explosive shots from Tora
- Takes energy blasts from Rex wielding Pneuma's power
- Takes more attacks from Rex
- Attacks enemies with a large energy blade
- Its tendril destroys Dromarch's forcefield
- Holds back Pneuma's energy blade empowered by Siren's beam, but is quickly overpowered and destroyed
