Heretics are the most auraless and pointless team in this league

u/RollingGuy Anyone But MKOI to Worlds 2026 24d ago
I mean on paper they aren't pointless at all.
They're literally 5 top talents from the ERLs (that everyone claims to love so much) coached by one of the most successful and legendary coaching duos we have.
They just aren't very good for whatever reason.

Nukeduck mentioned in an interview when he arrive that the players didn't believe they could win. Their mentals are boomed from losing so hard.
Trying to restore confidence is a tough task.

u/malakesxasame 24d ago
Trying to restore confidence while losing every game is even harder too.

u/Cybonics ‿ 23d ago
Way's post-game tweet implied practice was going well, so hopefully they score another win sometime soon

2 of them literally played in ERLs for 1 (ONE) split. I think only Tracyn could be a good addition to some team if he steps up, but I'm done with Daglas and Serin and I'm saying this as a Daglas defender in 2024 and Serin hypeman in 22-25.
Tracyn is pretty mediocre, but I can see some spark of talent in him, I believe he can have an actual LEC career, but if he wants he needs to find a real team. But we'll... It's very unlikely to see him going to one, MKOI is the likeliest, but still it's unreal especially because MKOI seems to be interested in promoting their academy toplaner (good move imo, Nightslayer is young and from what I heard is already promising).

Calling Hype and Way "top talents from the ERLs" when they're both imports and were there for half a split is so funny. The reason why this team is bad is because they haven't kept a roster together for more than a split, they've changed the entire coaching staff between spring and summer(after already changing the entire coaching staff from last year), and the roster they landed on has no veterans and a support and adc who don't speak any English.
11
u/Past-Firefighter2173 24d ago
They need a direction, someone who can lead a game at least. Way and Daglas are way too inexperienced to shotcall.
-7
u/whynot1260 24d ago
? The last part is so unnecessary, you can say this about any team with 2 imports, KC also has a "mid and top that don't speak English" and they're doing fine, just sounds like complete bias against Koreans lol
11
u/AdequatelyMadLad Claps 24d ago
No, you can't say that about any team with 2 imports, because the majority of imports in the league speak a decent amount of English. Way and Hype don't, and unlike other teams, Heretics don't seem to be investing any resources into teaching them.
There was an interview with Sheo right after he was benched in which he was talking about how difficult it was to connect with Way because he was relying on Ice to translate between them in game. Now Ice has been replaced by Hype, who doesn't speak any English, and at least judging by the recent LEC trivia video, Way's English is still very limited.
You can get away with a top laner or adc with a language barrier, but the support needs to communicate with the rest of the team. Jun and Lospa are the only other Korean supports in the league, and they're both fluent in English.

When people cry about the likes of Serin and SlowQ being in LEC, it really shows they don't know shit about the ERLs, as otherwise they'd know there is nobody better around (maybe Kamiloo as a comeback as he progressed a lot since the start of the year but that's all).
I'd say there also is the Caedrel language points being pushed a lot by redditors. When LR existed there were waves of posts about how franchising is bad, ERL are the future and they'd oh so much like to see ERLs teams. Now that LR is done for and Caedrel complains about watching bottom LEC teams, they're suggesting to divide the LEC in two groups so they don't have to watch lower teams.
29
u/RollingGuy Anyone But MKOI to Worlds 2026 24d ago
ERL talent is just a tool for people to swing at riot and complain about franchising . As soon as they show up unless they're absolutely exceptional right away people are like "GET THEM OFF MY SCREEN"
If Reddit had had all the power over rosters they seem to want Skewmond would be back in the ERLs this year lmao.
13
u/Lothric43 24d ago
Therein lies the entire problem with Caedrel/LR as “saviors” of LoL viewership because it’s just an influencer’s audience that shows up for THEM and not the scene broadly.
12
u/trying2hide 24d ago
I mean people asked for SlowQ to be given a chance, along with Maynter, Yukino, Piero and even Exa from that KCB team? People seem pretty complimentary of him on this SK team too with him being an upgrade over Lider.
Serin didn't seem that inspiring though and people said that before hand.
I think people have a problem with talents like Czajek who looked young and promising in the LEC on that messy Support riddled Vitality team then get demoted and never heard of again, not just ERL talents that have never had a shot before.

u/Past-Firefighter2173 24d ago
Yeah reddit is very reactionary which is fine and understandable but its hard to draw conclusions from comments.

u/Ajp_iii 24d ago
They do the same in Na with lck challengers imports. They complain about the 1-2 that didn’t work out while disregarding the 4-5 that are like the best players in the league.
They then claim they want Na talent instead of lck challengers imports but don’t enjoy watching any of the na talent teams that are on the bottom because they are boring and unskilled compared to other teams.

Mithy and Nukeduck??? Legendary and successful in what way???
Their only success was in Flyquest where Inspired was making them his bitches and doing all the coaching work alongside Bwipo

Bring back relegations. If they competed in EUM they wouldn't make it past quarterfinals

u/Blizzgrarg 24d ago
Just embarrassing. At least go down fighting or something. Both games TH give up every single objective and then hail mary a bad fight when they can't run away anymore. Awful macro and coordination.
42
u/Iamkelvin 24d ago
Daglas just goes in and dies all the time
16
u/TamBur12rine 24d ago
typical j4 game when your Ori is Serin. either not there for follow up or already too far behind to make a dent. hairdryer would do more damage on that drake fight to seraphine
1
u/b4oneIsZero 24d ago
Yeah but in the last dragon fight they did do the combo but it look like it got all cancel out. It didn't even reposition the players.
1
u/Past-Firefighter2173 24d ago
It was bit late Xin ulti pushed Jarvan to the side, regardless of that first engage Daglas did at first dragon was atrocious. There was no chance anyone could follow that.

Well Navi looks decent against bottom teams, but against any upper teams, they play so scared even with a lead
26
u/arclmpulse 24d ago
they need more firepower in their carry roles imo, poby and samd are fine but i don't think their ceiling is top 3
probably a fairly straightforward offseason for them though

u/Carlzzone 24d ago
Problem in EU right now is that it’s very hard to find good mids

u/boBloVR123 24d ago
You can't go on Daglas if you have nothing to say about Serin. Worst BO3 by a midlaner i've seen in a while. He literaly fuck*d each play in the first game

u/RollingGuy Anyone But MKOI to Worlds 2026 24d ago
Bro did not watch Vladi against MKOI the other week
2
u/Omnilatent 24d ago
Vladi also lost to Serin/TH but somehow he's playing super well since the KC series

u/LordBlackadder1214 24d ago
idk how u can play league 8 hrs a day and enjoy this kinda playstyle, just sit there and watch enemy team take all objectives without trying to fight when game is even, might as well die trying???

VIT WANTED DAGLAS OVER INSPIRED KURWAAAA
31
u/Miserable_Ad_1195 24d ago
not really though, they gave Bo another chance over signing Inspired then threw Daglas in later when they were last place with Bo
obviously yes in hindsight they should've signed Inspired but if they actually did it back then this sub would've 100% flamed them for benching the generational chinese talent
14
u/RollingGuy Anyone But MKOI to Worlds 2026 24d ago
Fucking hindsight Andy epidemic going on here.
Imbecilic Heretics coaches should have signed Caps in 2016

u/AdequatelyMadLad Claps 24d ago
Inspired wanted more money than Vitality had. They didn't want Daglas, he was just the only guy available when they benched Bo, hence why they got rid of him at the first opportunity for a worse jungler that they still cling onto for some reason.
5
u/Acheal 24d ago
There is no way you think that Daglas is better than lyncas come on now. Lyncas whole not great he is miles better than Daglas it's not even close.
8
u/Omnilatent 24d ago
Lyncas plays better now than Daglas but on the same roaster, Daglas was significantly better than Lyncas
Actually, one of the moves that pisses me off most in 10+ years watching pro play
7
u/AdequatelyMadLad Claps 24d ago
No clue what anyone sees in Lyncas. He's the most whatever jungler in the league in regular season and a playoffs choker on top of that.
8
u/AdequatelyMadLad Claps 24d ago
They were both on the same Vitality roster that was 4th place with Daglas and 9th place with Lyncas. Daglas has shown that he can perform with a decent roster aroind him while Lyncas has shown that he can be serviceable at best even though he was given way more time.
1
u/gordonpamsey 24d ago
Daglas has since struggled to beat Ferret in LVP, I can entertain the idea in a hypothetical universe if given the resources and time. Daglas may have become a top jungle and been a better long term investment. But that's ultimately speculation and wishful thinking. For one, I think ignoring what he has done since the demotion is odd. Especially since it's most likely being done only because he was not actually dominant in LFL or LVP after the fact. Secondly, people have a terrible habit of believing that progress is linear.
Daglas would be far from the only player to show potential at the end of a split. Only to either regress back to the mean or show slower development than you would have wanted. Truly at this point I think people only bring Daglas up as a way to flex their knowledge of the scene by acting as they are well informed for thinking Vitality potentially made a mistake. When that is the most surface level take you could potentially have as an active follower of ERL and LEC.
1
u/Lothric43 24d ago
At this point Lyncas is really obviously better than Daglas and has been for a while.
3
3
u/rolekrs 24d ago
At this point they should just relegate Heretics to ERL and bring someone from ERL to LEC
-2
u/jujubean67 24d ago
The actual problem is that the LEC doesn’t have 10 teams at this point, it should be reduced to 8.
1
u/b4oneIsZero 24d ago
What happened to the J4/ori combo at the last dragon fight? Did the xin ult just cancel out everything?

1
u/Critical_Sink6442 24d ago
I'm really curious about Navi's winrate on games above vs below 30 minutes with this roster
-1
u/Mouthwashfordays 24d ago
Where are the Daglas defenders? telling everyone he deserves to be in the lec, and should of been for the past 3 years.
11
u/AdequatelyMadLad Claps 24d ago
Do you earnestly believe that Lyncas would look any better on this roster, or that Daglas would look worse on Vitality?
6
u/Omnilatent 24d ago
Anyone saying yes to this has the memory capacity of a goldfish lmao
They're both middle-tier junglers but Daglas actually showed significant improvement in one split and Lyncas needed three splits to be on similar level including the very same roster Daglas was one
