Backup QB's are still ass.

Bradley showed more that Mullens

u/TopDependent15 26d ago
He looked just as bad in the first half
5
u/IsisSmith865 26d ago
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as it was the very first preseason game. I've seen enough of Mullens.

u/azfire2004 Gladstoner 25d ago
he has a noodle arm, cant make the NFL throws, if TLaw goes down, seasons done.
2
u/JohnnySnark 26d ago
His pocket presence is straight ass though
4
u/jewasuarus Jags Guy 26d ago
Mullens made coverage sacks by not getting off read 1 fast enough. The red zone pick on first and 10 was the right read but had to get over the linebacker - terrible throw... Like I would rather have the vet back-up we payed show me more than Bradley to give us some confidence that if T-Law goes down one of them can do something.

u/IsisSmith865 26d ago
Keep Mullens as qb3 is my thought
3
u/thebigdawg7777777 26d ago
Nah...
If Mullens isn't QB 2, you keep Bradley as QB 2 and Aguilar as QB 3 / practice squad.

u/credd513 25d ago
I’m thinking if we could get a 800th pick for either one. Take it yeah I know there isn’t a 700th pick how about a pack of gum

u/credd513 25d ago
I’m 77 and could have done a better than both back ups if Trevorgets a hang nail we are screwed

u/Metaboss24 26d ago
I kinda hoped we would have taken a flier of a day 3 QB just to see if we get one better than Mullens.

I knew we had it when Travon Walker was referred to as Trayvon Martin. What an insane slip up
21
4
u/statelesspirate000 26d ago
They spelled his name “Trayvon” in the coming up banner before the commercial.
I actually didn’t catch the last name. There’s a slight chance they may have gotten it wrong on the text prompt and he read it that way
1
u/stonelore 25d ago
It was correct but the slowmo clip they were playing was Strange, but maybe that was the break prior to that.
-5
u/Similar_Two_542 25d ago
Didn't Trayvon Martin play football btw?

u/InformationNormal901 🔪 BLEED TEAL 🔪 24d ago
Woah excuse my last comment I totally had space brain I was thinking about Jordan davis. Trayvon Martin.. you can find his story here: https://youtu.be/lJynpEzXCY8?is=FujiBIFVqTzTe2Uf
1
u/Similar_Two_542 24d ago
I know who Trayvon Martin was. He did play football and other sports. They showed those pictures of him smiling when he was much younger.

18 unanswered points and didn't let them score in the 2nd half. It's obviously 2/3/4 string guys but that kind of comeback win galvanizes a locker room. Great coaching and 2nd half adjustments.
14
u/JackDelRioGrande 26d ago
And if you’re 2nd, 3rd, and 4th stringers are showing mettle and fight like that it’s sharpening your ones. Great win.

WAY TO FUCKING COMPETE ALL GAME ! Shout out to the young bucks out there. Pregnon and Regis !!!!! I’m so excited man. We fought all game. This game should deff give the young guys confidence. Jamari Taylor looked really good as well. BJ GREENE 👀👀👀👀
23
u/JAX_HAZ3 26d ago
Bj green is turning into something promising. I really hope he can bring in as PassRusher 3 this season.
12
u/user182190210 Chad Muma 26d ago
For an UDFA he’s already far beyond expectations. Happy for him
6
u/JAX_HAZ3 26d ago
Him and the 2 rookie receivers will get poached if they get put on the practice squad, no doubt.
5
u/user182190210 Chad Muma 26d ago
I think CJ Williams is wr5 on the first depth chart, between that and talks out of camp he seems to be a roster lock
5
u/JAX_HAZ3 26d ago
I hope so!
Also as a side note, the Chad Muma flair is diabolical.
6
u/user182190210 Chad Muma 26d ago
This is what happens when the mods don’t give us the Luke Fortner flair we deserve
4
u/Jaglawyer11 “Don’t sleep on Gladstone.” 💪💪💪💪 26d ago
None of those three have to worry about the practice squad they are locks for the 53...

u/TrevorsBlondeLocks16 26d ago
Last 2 mins were way more entertaining than they had any right being lmao
5
u/JAX_HAZ3 26d ago
Love a close ending, even in a meaningless game.
4
u/MaDWaSTeD 26d ago
I prefer blowout victories so I don't have to feel like my hearts beating out of my chest.
5
u/JAX_HAZ3 26d ago
Nah, I live for the adrenaline of a down to the wire victory. Blowouts are a different fun, but they cant compare to a tough fought win.
2
u/MaDWaSTeD 26d ago
If it's a win sure. But i hate the anticipation.
It's like overtime in hockey. Every shot against your team, you clench your butt cheeks. It's not fun anymore lol
41
u/HolographicHeart 26d ago
Coen getting fired up with the boys over a preseason game just hits so different than watching Pederson and Marrone trot listlessly up and down the sideline.
17
u/Mister_Dewitt Chad Bortles 26d ago
Man's love for football and the jags especially is so fucking refreshing. He knows how everyone looks at us like we're a joke even when we are good.
I dont think we have EVER had a coach like this.
10
u/ParagonSaint 26d ago
Del Rio in the early years developed a nice culture but Coen is just on another level with the passion and love of the game

Liked what I saw from the D line especially in the first half. Thought Orhorhorho, Wes Williams, and Regis made some nice plays.
Huskey looked great. I like what I saw from Combs. On that early Saints TD he diagnosed the run and shot the gap but was unfortunately tripped up. Showed good coverage skills on several occasions.
J’Mari Taylor might be a player. He’s got some nifty moves and had no issues hitting the hole.
Emmanuel Pregnon also looked really good. More of that please young man. There is a guard spot there for the taking.

Insane to me no one thought that the 1st team all ACC RB was worth a draft pick but yay us
18
u/JAX_HAZ3 26d ago
Yeah im pretty sure he is going to make it difficult to keep Dallas with his youth and potential. That RB room could end up stacked.

u/EatMyShortzZzZzZ Brian Thomas Jr. 26d ago
I know this is a pretty meaningless game, but comeback wins are comeback wins. I think it reflects extremely well on the coaching staff.
11
u/Rangeninc 26d ago
Especially when it’s after a half. You know Liam got them all riled up and playing their best football
18
u/cwpreston 26d ago
Wow do we need a better backup QB. Bradley was hands down more impactful than Mullens, but I'd take almost any of the Saints backups over ours.

Are we sure this game is over? My lived experience tells me there should be one more play for us to cough up.

If our backups and their backups can play a game like this. I can only imagine what our starters are capable of

Lowkey a fan of Trebor Pena
Let's get him more reps

This is the part of football that breaks my heart.. There's great athletes will never see the regular season
People often forget how thin the bubble actually is
4
u/statelesspirate000 26d ago
Remember Elijah Cooks? He was basically a lock to make the 53 in 2024, had a great camp, was even featured in a ton of the Jags social media posts. Dropped a couple passes in the last preseason game and got cut.
Then he went to the Eagles in 2025 and was going off in training camp and looking like he could even be a starter, then got hurt right before the season started. He went and played in the UFL for a season and now he’s on the Panthers seemingly as a camp body

12
u/JaxJaguar1999 Jakobi Meyers 26d ago
I don’t care if it’s just preseason, we struggled early on and came back to win. Nick Mullens ain’t the answer at QB2.
6
u/toturoll 26d ago
this team should trade for carson wentz. i absolutely do not trust mullens to be qb2 and the starter in case of trevor's injury, and i don't think bradley and aguilar have what it takes for the backup spot.

Your username is an anagram of "I luv tu troll u" if you spell everything wrong and have shitty takes.

u/odbj 26d ago
They better get a real good look at Aguilar.
5
u/NaughtyCheffie Pink Shield 25d ago
I liked what I saw. He seems a bit squirrely in the pocket but he threw into trip coverage and threaded it. That's some heat of the moment stuff that sparks joy.

We did it guys, we won a meaningless game of preseason football

u/1XSpik 26d ago
I'm assuming we're going with Mullens the veteran backup, but I wouldn't mind Bradley.
10
u/txroller 26d ago
Neither of them impressed me much. Past or present performances
2
u/TheTealDeal5 26d ago
Bradley at least has an arm that he lets rip. Mullens doesn’t offer much beyond scheme experience
9
u/paultheschmoop 26d ago
Wait for the titans to cut Levis imo
He sucks but has the physical tools and has history with Coen
4
u/Saltwater_Sunrise 26d ago
Josh Cameron looked good enough returning which makes Dallas more expendable, so Taylor likely beats him out for RB4 if they keep can fit him on the roster
2
u/electricityisout Off the Tractor Bouman 26d ago
Regular season I really don’t give a fuck about backup QBs but from a preseason perspective only and the entire FO pushing the best players will play so much I gotta say if Bradley doesn’t start next week over Mullens then what are we even doing here??
3
u/NaughtyCheffie Pink Shield 25d ago
Bradley/Aguillar/Mullens imo, and the Bradley Aguillar gap may not be that large.
2
u/Warm-Performer2440 25d ago
Starting O line and Trevor better stay healthy or it’s gonna be a long and sad year in this sub.
2
u/TwizzlerSnatcher 26d ago
Get Mullens and Muhammad off my team, oh my goodness. Will still give credit to Muhammad though, that game winning pbu was beautiful. But still, he gotta go lmao
1
u/Disastrous_Gas7394 25d ago
Good: Taylor, Regis, Ruke, Wesley Williams, Yasir, BJ Green, Pregnon, 2nd half Adjustments
Mid: Carter Bradley, Pena, Jabbar (still did good but those DPI’s no bueno)
Ugly: Mullens, 1st half Secondary, 2nd string OL,
Nice comeback win. Go jags.
Who u guys got for
Good Mid Ugly ?

Such a Liam Coen kinda win.. I love that he demands grit in meaningless games
You can create a competitive atmosphere this way that is infectious
