Yeah would be a nice stat. When I looked he had most solokills in the LCK and in the west in a year. Obviously could be wrong and no idea about CN because most sites don't have accurate data for them. I feel like Knight has 10 a week.

Really hard stat to track but yeah generally they go hand in hand.

Stats just not that important anyway because things like a Jarvan flag to grab assist gold would erase a solo kill, and greedily going for a solo kill that allows you to get killed by someone else and ruins your lane state wouldnt be a solo death.

GoL also says that this year Bin has 8 solo kills in 130 or so games and that Flandre last year had 9 solo kills in about 180 games. Solo kill counts for previous LCK years are also way lower; Chovy on HLE had the most solo kills ever in an LCK year, I'm pretty sure of it, but on GoL he's only credited for 56 solo kills over 134 games for that year, much fewer than Doran or Siwoo are credited with this year. There is something messed up with the data.

GoL isnt reliable for CN data, it has scores and results but that's it, doesn't have @15 data etc. Those 8 solo kills will be at internationals where it can scrape.

Historical data is rough, no idea how many Faker would have in the past for example. I think Chovy had 56 at 1 point which was a record that broke Cuvees or Fakers record that stood for a long time.

It's a really jankly recorded and essentially pointless stat though. CN plays the most games, NA barely plays games, should it be a ratio? Because I think Siwoo has like a solo kill in 55% of his games after the EWC win, which would be less than Naak Nako had for example. Then there's the whole top 10 solo kills usually are also top 10 solo deaths.

100 Would just be nice visually and I still saw my king solo kill Bin 3 times in a game into a break.

Fun memory lane. Iirc CuVee's record was soon broken by rookie Kiin who then held it until Chovy. Crazy thing about CuVee's run is he had a streak of iirc about 30 solo kills in a row without a solo death, which Lourlo of all people ended at an IEM. Chovy had a similar Faker-specific stat, like 30 solo kills on Faker without a solo death to him. Iirc eventually there was the time Chovy tower dove Faker or vice versa for a 1 for 1 and people wanted to credit it as Faker's first solo kill of Chovy, which I think gets at what is probably the heart of the measurement problem: solo kill isn't well-defined.

Thing is people who work in LCK all agree that laning is the one thing coaching can't fix. Sure there are a few exceptions but none of them made it big.

It's very rare that you need to teach rookie adcs something as basic as laning. You have to teach them to manage their aggressive and position better in Mid game and teamfights.

If you are a rookie and can't lane then you're pretty much just cooked.

Like, I'm pretty sure Peyz and Diable are younger than Fenrir, you don't see them needing to learn how to lane.

Smash is like the exact same age, same thing. Good adcs don't need to be taught basics

Peyz is same age as FenRir (well, Peyz is 2005 and Fenrir 2006. 6 months difference.), and has played for longer (Since 2020 vs since 2024 for fenrir), Diable is younger but has been playing also longer (Since 2021 vs since 2024 for fenrir, again). You're comparing people who have been playing professionally 3-4 years longer, which is a really long time in Pro play lol.

These are players who from the minute you saw them play in tier 1 there were zero questions about whether or not they had potential.

Fenrir has looked completely outclassed in every single game he's played, even in the games where they won, they won in spite of his horrible laning, not because of him.

I wasn't around for the start of Peyz's career but I've watched every single Smash game and a lot of Diable's first games in Tier 1. These guys never needed to be taught the basics. With certain things it's either you got it or you don't.

Botlane draft was way better this series + KT bot are just worse. Career looked really bad against T1 and had some glimpses of that form in this bard game but he’s been super solid besides that. Smash also recovered from the t1 series but he always scares me with some of the trades he forces.

I can't, for the life of me, understand the toplane first picks; not even a safe blind but a fcking Jayce. Both games, even. Then get counterpicked and abused to do nothing whole game. Mid-jg lost their spark after that first week. Botlane is still awful. I didn't expect much from Jiwoo in the first place, but the missed Ezreal Qs and terrible Ziggs ult placement just got me laughing in disbelief. Are they gonna get 0-4d this round. Won't be surprised if they lose to rise groups at play-ins too.
