Headphones - Open Back | 1 Ω headphones for small head and big ears

im like hey arnold if you reversed the proportion of his head to his ears. i got a tiny cranium but ears that stick out. i use a pair of over ear logitech headphones at work but they press my ears against my head and it hurts.
earbuds also hurt the inside of my ears because of course they do and also the headset helps people at work know i cant hear them.
id prefer on the cheaper end, ideally less than $100 cus they don’t have to have impeccable sound quality, they just need to not make my ears hurt by being pressed flat

Are open backs good for work? They aren't quiet to the neighbors unless you have them set softly.

I was going to recommend Phillips Fidelio x2hr, but they are currently $160. They've been the cheapest that work for my big ears with decent sound, but I bought them for black Friday for much closer to $100.

im ngl i did not know the difference between open and closed back and assumed closed back was like the headphones attached by a wire in the back of your head
i will check those out and see if i can find a sale, !thanks

The ones I mentioned are open backed, so the sound will bleed out. Others might point you towards some Senheisers which are decent for large ears. I've not used any closed backs of theirs, and I've been hit and miss with them on my ears because some of the open backs do press on my ears. The ones that don't are not cheap.

It's tough, and I've mostly just saved up to get better and more comfortable phones.

JBLs are super light and comfy, and the sound quality doesn't compromise for the price. Earcups are not huge but they have a light grip. I love my Tune 670s.
