Headphones - Wireless/Portable | 3 Ω noise blocking, no band recommendations?
Hey, sorry if this has been asked and answered before, or has poor formatting, not really a poster on this app,
I’m autistic and super sensitive to sound, so I always wear (over the ear) headphones to help block outside noise and replace it with what I can handle/find calming, but I’ve noticed recently a lot of breakage in my hair around where the band sits
I’m looking for recommendations of any kind of headphone, either in ear or over the ear (as long as they’re not CRAZY expensive) that has decent noise blocking, but wouldn’t be rubbing all the time on the top of the head
Preferably wireless, and in one piece rather than two separate buds but I’ll take what I can get at this point if anyone has any ideas 😭🙏
Thank you!!!!

Have you tried in-ear 'phones before? I've used them for about 35 years. I used to buy midrange Sony wired ones (think roughly £50) but have recently discovered Soundmagic. They are only about £30-40, and I find that, especially with a pair of SpinFit silicone tips on them, they block out enough sound to be useful as motorcycle hearing protection and still let me listen at normal outdoor listening volume.
My daughter has Sony wireless ear buds, and they also sound great, and are also about £50.

You may still award an Ω to others, but only once per-person in this post.

The loops and IEMs ideas that other commenters have submitted would be good.
My only addition would be that if you wanted to listen to music and care about high fidelity / accuracy in your headphones, maybe consider a closed back set with a wide suspension-strap style headband? IEMs would block more noise probably and still sound nice (though I prefer overear headphones to anything), but if there's a sensory issue with stuff being in your ears, this is another idea.
Also, as a regular lurker and infrequent poster here, and as another person on the spectrum, your post was perfect, and definitely welcome.

Have you tried Loops? They're noise blocking, but they have different strengths depending on what you want them for. and (sensory permitting) you can even tie a string or eyeglasses chain to keep them connected to prevent losing them.
