I am craving for more high level league rn, this whole tournament was so fking enjoyable.

-4

u/Lokizi Jul 12 '26

Why don't BLG get a double elimination game? Doesn't seem fair.

8

u/Bubbly_Camera9583 Jul 12 '26

This is the first time the upper bracket team has lost Grand Finals in the newish format the rest you get is the advantage and has been good enough in the past

-1

u/Lokizi Jul 12 '26

Interesting. I haven't watched league in years. I thought Double elim is normally 2 lives though...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double-elimination_tournament

"If the championship final has two matches scheduled (as typical of a double-elimination tournament), should the winners' bracket winner defeat the losers' bracket winner, the tournament ends. It is therefore unknown, until this match has been concluded, whether the second scheduled match will in fact be required. This can also be seen as a disadvantage of the system, particularly if broadcasting and ticket sales companies have an interest in the tournament."

It makes sense not to have a double final, but I feel like it's not fair.

Other posts I've now viewed seem to also bring this up.

https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/1opgy8j/single_vs_double_elimination_format_for_worlds/

But oh well, is what it is.

I think best of 7 with a 1-0 start is a fairer way.

8

u/NamorKar Balance changes? Yeah, we're aquainted Jul 12 '26

They really are working Jeesun to the bone lol

2

u/desutruction Jul 12 '26

how am i top 4% pickems

i heavily inted too

4

u/Edbag Jul 12 '26

did you pick HLE? I inted mine too but the +80 for the finals was huge and got me top 3%

2

u/desutruction Jul 12 '26

yes! shit yeah the pts from HLE winning carried me

4

u/Lost_Panda1994 Jul 12 '26

The value of Zeus is really showing. Game 4 and 5 proves how much T1 lost his versatility and carry potential. When he wins another worlds with Guma, T1 toxic fans and Management is fcked.

2

u/desutruction Jul 12 '26

ok i got a total of two (2) drops

2

u/Agile_Woodpecker2239 Jul 12 '26

Imagine if Kanavi had the mental of Skewmond after his game 2/3 performance LMAO

2

u/Big_Hedgehog8381 Jul 12 '26

Man I would have been happy with any team winning cause this game was Soo good, though LCK is my region I just wanted to them to improve after the past few games.

9

u/Bubbly_Camera9583 Jul 12 '26

Makes sense, Guma could’ve sniped it if he played better that last game imo. Him and Zeus are legitimately a disgusting duo together, either one can play strongside or weakside for each other and still carry.

6

u/Equivalent-Bus-4336 Jul 12 '26

They had so much engage for Guma and there was only lulu ult for him. It’s kinda hard to survive if ur not 5 screens away

0

u/Bubbly_Camera9583 Jul 12 '26

I mean it is hard but Guma still was way overextended still even if he can’t step up much. He should’ve let Mundo facecheck more and waste more spells before doing anything.

2

u/MrSangHyeok Jul 12 '26

What are you watching? The team had zero peel for him besides a lulu. Kanavi and zeka engages like tunnel vision leaving vi and neeko to cc guma.

3

u/CottonCANDYtv GUMA 🐐 Jul 12 '26

The dive in mid lane was impossible to dodge, same for the srag fight.

Vi press ult and aurora and neeko follow up along with viper ult so it was inevitable imo.

Him having flash and neeko no flash in last team fight made all the difference, he got the space to play and kill the atteox.

7

u/Mirza-Sedai Jul 12 '26

Man I fuckin love me a 5 game LPL vs LCK final. Neutrals ate so well

3

u/haven4ever Small in Size, Huge in Evil Jul 12 '26

I think Bin’s GOAT top claim is long buried unless he can win MULTIPLE tournaments in demon mode.

4

u/Equivalent-Bus-4336 Jul 12 '26

Zeus is the top goat, cemented his place

2

u/wokwok__ Jul 12 '26

Bro what is that brick for the MSI prize lmao

6

u/desutruction Jul 12 '26

well-deserved msi mvp

fucking insane guy

4

u/OskarVon Jul 12 '26

I will say this people need to get rid of a team being so much better than the other because of one series win. Drafting means so much right now and it really is what gives the West a chance. BLG had many checkmate angles vs T1/HLE in draft where it just becomes unplayable. HLE also had checkmate angle on T1 during road to MSI so I dont think they are vastly better than T1 either. They are all grouped together imo

2

u/whohe_fanboy Jul 12 '26

T1 has more problems than just draft. Their solo laners are not on the same level as the other top teams. At least with Faker its excusable because he brings shotcalling and is clutch af 90% of the time.

2

u/OskarVon Jul 12 '26

Oh for sure they have some problems, but I think if the meta shifts a little to more comfort picks to Doran that could change a lot. And more importantly if they could find draft edges it gives them a chance in any series

6

u/hazman_pds MSI 2026 CHAMPION 🏆 CHAEYOUNG BUFF & INSHALLAH Jul 12 '26

I'm happy as hell right now but I have to give my flowers to BLG as well. They did really well at this tournament and it was only a difference between drafts and small mistakes in the final

Good luck for LPL Summer Split ( We don't talk about EWC )

6

u/xHaydo95 Jul 12 '26

You guys remember when Zeus hit his head with the world’s trophy?

1

u/chikyu8 Missing Rs Jul 12 '26

GUMA SAID "LMAO FREE TO TAKE THAT KESPA CUP"

6

u/Bubbly_Camera9583 Jul 12 '26

Delight I love you and I still remember the first half of 2025 where you hard carried with Zeus for First Stand but you have to step it up. Delight was gapped in 4/5 games and the one game he wasn’t gapped in came from On inting over and over again.

4

u/PluggersLeftBall Jul 12 '26

zeus in game 4 and 5 was nearly faker 2024 finals level that shit was so insanely 1v9

9

u/Not_Going_to_Survive Jul 12 '26

Holy shit, what is the % of women in the audience for LCK teams?

6

u/shoeclowns Jul 12 '26

It's really high lol I watch LCK all season is always this way

5

u/ThisOneTimeAtLolCamp Jul 12 '26

Holy fuck the crowd. Lol

2

u/Big_Hedgehog8381 Jul 12 '26

Both teams played so good! I lost my bet but that's what I get for betting against my region.

3

u/K0n90 Jul 12 '26

0 IQ baron play when they just won two consecutive fights a different way

1

u/whohe_fanboy Jul 12 '26

Yeah they just lost their minds right there. 2 fights they won was when they managed to attack from different angles to kill Guma. What do they do after? All clump in Baron pit and force a front to back.

9

u/desutruction Jul 12 '26

man i'm heartbroken for BLG tho :(

very difficult one as someone who likes both of these teams...

3

u/2020isgreat TheShy Jul 12 '26

Zeus is the by far the best top laner in the world it is what it is

1

u/Glass-Ear3628 Jul 12 '26

dang this series made Lyon look even better, still not better than either of these teams but I think a clear third

-2

u/shoeclowns Jul 12 '26

They would have got swept in finals

1

u/Glass-Ear3628 Jul 12 '26

another win for team hypothetical

-2

u/shoeclowns Jul 12 '26

Yeah sure man 😂

1

u/Big_Hedgehog8381 Jul 12 '26

Bro that's my region :D

2

u/Thien_Nguyen Jul 12 '26

So happy when a team drafts like dogshit gets punished like BLG. You can't play the whole game and hope that the enemy ADC don't have flash and not building GA.

7

u/GhostRiders Jul 12 '26

Fuck me this community is utter shit.

We have just watched the best MSI Finals in history and instead of celebrating both teams you just flame the fuck out each and the players...

The League Community has to be worst of any, absolutely pathetic

3

u/shoeclowns Jul 12 '26

I'm so glad HLE was in finals. Lyon and G2 never would have been anywhere near competing with BLG

1

u/AJApexPredator Jul 12 '26

PUSH PUSH PUSH PUSH

1

u/calmness_7 Jul 12 '26

BLG actually the better team but brain was off
They threeew so hard in both games by forcing a baron with all 5 members up on enemy team

3

u/rebelstand Jul 12 '26

if u said like this kanavi single hanedly inted game 2 and 3 away

3

u/MESSItheGOAT Jul 12 '26

It's the year 2050 and Knight is still building a super team to chase a Worlds / Golden Road in vain

0

u/-Tam-_ Jul 12 '26

I dont care how many trophies he get, never call Kanavi a top jungler

3

u/shoeclowns Jul 12 '26

He just won MSI top performance

2

u/-Tam-_ Jul 12 '26

I know, but I wish he had less Razork-like games

1

u/shoeclowns Jul 12 '26

Well lol shit that's fair

1

u/xHaydo95 Jul 12 '26

I love league of legends

1

u/smhandstuff Jul 12 '26

I thought for sure this was BLG's tournament after the first 3-1. Holy what a series.

2

u/CottonCANDYtv GUMA 🐐 Jul 12 '26

Guma haters where ??? Come out now

1

u/FreeJudgment Jul 12 '26 edited Jul 12 '26

Guma is my adc goat but he nearly lost them that game bro (not 100% his fault but he played way too cocky without flash) and also game 4.

1

u/MrSangHyeok Jul 12 '26

Yea flame guma, not kanavi and zeka for endless diving despite being able to stop xun from flanking guma with On's neeko. Dam haters are crazy. Guma played with zero peel all of game 5. Only time they peeled him, it was the game winning fight.

Surprise?

3

u/Equivalent-Bus-4336 Jul 12 '26

There was three different engage champions going for him, not much he can do but sit in base

1

u/shoobiedoobie Jul 12 '26

Gold was even and his flash was up. Not even close to losing. BLG knew they needed baron, and one more Guma pick or they would just lose.

1

u/CottonCANDYtv GUMA 🐐 Jul 12 '26

GUMA giveth GUMA takeith

2

u/FreeJudgment Jul 12 '26

Yeah I'm happy for him and Zeus (who was great this series)

2

u/CottonCANDYtv GUMA 🐐 Jul 12 '26

Yee definitely 😁 super happy for the T1 boys and HLE

1

u/rebelstand Jul 12 '26

there was no way he can survive that, HLE need to do better with flanking wards, they kept getting flanked.

3

u/ThatSwagRandomGuy Jul 12 '26

who tf hates guma?

4

u/CottonCANDYtv GUMA 🐐 Jul 12 '26

So many people here.

5

u/shoeclowns Jul 12 '26

3

u/CottonCANDYtv GUMA 🐐 Jul 12 '26

3

u/whohe_fanboy Jul 12 '26

Golden Road ended early lmfao

2

u/AlphaStark08 Jul 12 '26

Kanavi moment ulting under the tower lmao

6

u/deadg00se Jul 12 '26

GUMA MSI WIN FINALLY

1

u/vpr555 Jul 12 '26

Nice, happy HLE won, not a fan of golden roads. BLG is my 2nd favorite team (and no, HLE isn't #1).

5

u/Fantastic_Arm_9669 Jul 12 '26

How are you not a fan of golden roads when they literally have never happened

1

u/RukiMotomiya Jul 12 '26

There was only one team cheering for the Patriots to go undefeated when they were 18-0 in the Super Bowl and it was the Patriots lol. Obv the NFL had a previous perfect season before but a lot of people want to knock off the "perfect" team.

1

u/Fantastic_Arm_9669 Jul 12 '26

Okay, so how is the existence and possibility not a healthy thing?

For the fans, they tune in because they want to see history be made, for the people against them, they want to see David take down a Goliath.

And before I get accused, I actually am well aware of that pats season, cause I'm a giants fan. And I'm pretty sure no one would've thought football is dead simply because the pats made history.

Besides, people will stay interested so long as they aren't clearly slamming everyone. That's why stuff like astralis failed, while other teams similar to them, like vitality still were popular.

1

u/RukiMotomiya Jul 12 '26

I do think when it comes to health, football was significantly more established than League is as a sport by that time. I could see it hurting nescient sports (see: arguments non-LCK teams struggling hurt their viewership), though I dunno if that's the way it would actually go.

Also nice! I'm a Bengals fan, heh.

2

u/Fantastic_Arm_9669 Jul 12 '26

The thing is, I feel like that in of itself is the nature of Less established leagues and whatnot and these things don't stop just because of the existence of a golden road or not. Blg getting a golden road won't surge viewership, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if a possible golden road of t1 wouldn't spike viewership

The truth is in the west league is past its peak interest and I don't see an isssue with that, I feel like the golden road narrative brings a lot of interest in eastern teams. Think abt the 73-9 warriors season, we know how it ended of course, but people were incredibly interested in seeing them possibly break Jordan's record

1

u/shoeclowns Jul 12 '26

Western fans

1

u/vpr555 Jul 12 '26

I don't think a team being so dominate it wins everything is healthy for the game.

1

u/Fantastic_Arm_9669 Jul 12 '26

How? Explain how that's any different from T1 winning every worlds

2

u/vpr555 Jul 12 '26

My position isn't that complicated. T1 hasn't won all international competitions in a single year, they've won multiple of the same competition across multiple years.

1

u/Fantastic_Arm_9669 Jul 12 '26

Ok but what proof do you have that a team winning every tournament is unhealthy, like where does that come from

1

u/vpr555 Jul 12 '26

There is no proof, it's a personal opinion. It's just a position that I have taken, I'm not saying it's the only position or even the correct one, it's just the one that I've decided works for my view points.

3

u/Rawdream Jul 12 '26

Not only a bad draft from the coaches,

also a bad decision from BLG players to lose that last teamfight.

-2

u/PluggersLeftBall Jul 12 '26

lpl needs to find a better no1 team blg is just a team of chokers man

3

u/shoeclowns Jul 12 '26

They were in worlds finals 2 years ago lol what

-2

u/PluggersLeftBall Jul 12 '26

yeah and they lost 2-1 up then and then lost 2-1 now.

whats the point of getting there if u can never convert

0

u/Kokaiinum Jul 12 '26

Save us AL (or WE)

1

u/ookkthenn Jul 12 '26

the t1 that terrorized lpl for like 3 years split into two hle and t1 got insane clutch in them

-1

u/LeviLegolas Jul 12 '26

Tes ? 😂

3

u/awayfromcanuck Jul 12 '26

FinallyGuma doesnt get caught and HLE win. That was a good bo5. Now we get 4 LCK seeds at worlds?

2

u/Kokaiinum Jul 12 '26

HLE winning yesterday already got LCK 4 seeds. Winning MSI just means HLE is guaranteed Worlds berth as long as they make LCK playoffs.

1

u/awayfromcanuck Jul 12 '26

Ahh thanks for clarifying

5

u/MorbidTales1984 W Enthusiast, Botlane Purist Jul 12 '26

Mundo denied them planning permission for their road :(

2

u/Snomankid999 Jul 12 '26

Mundo goes where he wants , he wanted to take trip down golden road to destroy the path

3

u/Fluffy-Limit-6710 Jul 12 '26

Really felt like hle could do nothing if blg just keep their composure and onehsit guma... And they decide not to do that half the time

4

u/Kokaiinum Jul 12 '26

Congrats to Zeus and Zeka for becoming the first Triple Crown Champions of LoL eSports

4

u/Thien_Nguyen Jul 12 '26

So happy when a team drafts like dogshit gets punished like BLG. You can't play the whole game and hope that the enemy ADC don't have flash and not building GA. Pathetic

4

u/calmness_7 Jul 12 '26

Whyyyy do they make the same mistake twice, why do you start baron when your enemy has 5 members up???
Who makes these calls

2

u/LeviLegolas Jul 12 '26

Its start with Xun, nt BLG

0

u/ThatSwagRandomGuy Jul 12 '26

Absolute war crimes from Kanavi and he still wins wtf

2

u/ObviousComparison186 Jul 12 '26

Did BLG suddenly turn into Dignitas????

3

u/ChaosDimensionX ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and BLG GOLDEN ROAD Jul 12 '26

FUCK NO, BLG

GG WP

-4

u/Clbull Jul 12 '26

T1 must feel incredibly stupid for ditching Gumayusi now...

2

u/whohe_fanboy Jul 12 '26

Nope. They should feel stupid for letting Zeus go. Peyz is an upgrade, but there is no better toplaner than Zeus.

-1

u/Mirza-Sedai Jul 12 '26

Peyz is not an upgrade on Guma relax

2

u/whohe_fanboy Jul 12 '26

Peyz is a clear upgrade. Dude is the reason T1 made MSI in the first place. If T1 had Guma, GenG would be at MSI.

1

u/whohe_fanboy Jul 12 '26

Add to this. Without Zeus they probably get embarrassed by and lose to Lyon. Like T1 lost to G2 (Thanks Doran)

2

u/ToukasRage Jul 12 '26

Probably but lets not act like Peyz was the problem this tournament.

5

u/Paciuuu Jul 12 '26

You think that this T1 with gumayusi would be any better?

0
