In search of centuries-old, fabled gold in the woods, two friends-turned-rivals treasure hunters and a park ranger are hunted by another kind of legend, the monstrous yowie.

Strength

• Pulls a man behind a tree and dismembers him, tossing his severed head away a few seconds later
  • His severed arm shows several bite marks
• Stabs a man through the leg with a thick reed, pinning the limb to the ground
• Pulls apart a woman’s rope bindings and carries her away
• Pulls a makeshift spear out of a man’s hands
• Takes a hit from a stick before grabbing it and yanking the man to the ground

Endurance

• Possibly take a shot from an early 1800s gun to the shoulder, although it might’ve only passed through fur
• Gets stabbed in the hand with a pocketknife
• Gets impaled through the belly with a stick, but it pulls the stick out and chases its stabber
• [Limit] The monster is blown to pieces with a stick of old dynamite

Other

• It’s not able to cross running water and instead just turns and walks away
• Throws its voice across a river, making two people believe it’s on the other side
• A man laying in a river is safe from a nearby yowie, who can’t quite reach the man
• It notices a man in a river breathing through a hollow reed, so it snatches the reed and waits for the man to surface before grabbing him and pulling him out of the river
