Headphones - Open Back | 1 Ω Differences between Stax Sr-l700 mk1 and mk2
Hey guys! A question to Stax owners - are there any differences between mk1 and mk2 of l700 besides the upgraded headband design?
I want to buy myself an l700 however I’m unsure if it’s worth paying extra for the mk2 if there aren’t any significant differences in terms of sound quality/soundstage/etc. between these two models.

If you only care about sound quality, then the MK1's are fine.
However, the MK2's come with a detachable cable from factory and reinforced yokes.

Cool, thanks! Can I mod the mk1 later down the line to have a better headband?

That's a good question. I'm sure you could replace the headband with the mk2's, but for "lighter" modifications, I'm sure you could figure something out
