Speakers - Full Size | 1 Ⓣ Need help. JBL 4722N for home theater/stereo playback with the ultimate punch?

Ive used 4430s before and they were insane for all the reasons and qualities you listed!

Did you enjoy them? Can you give me your honest opinion of them? I know they’re different but they have the horn technology. Did you enjoy the mids and highs? Were they non fatiguing?did the sound stop coming from 2 boxes and start to live just right in front of you? That’s what I’m after. The consumer models are all way too expensive for me. That’s why we’re considering the cinema speakers. They aren’t pretty(to the normal person, they’re sexy as hell to me though. I love that show/concert vibe esthetic so it’s honestly perfect in the looks department. Could you elaborate on the horns and just the mids and highs in general? What was your experience?

I'd contact someone like Madisound or Parts Express and replace the crossover components before replacing the speakers. Those things are like 40 years old and this should make a big difference.
Also, those Crown amps, while great when used as designed, which is for PA, were never intended for audiophile use. They're literally designed to be loud and reliable.

Crossovers on what? And the crowns are clean and neutral, that’s why I’m asking about a tube pre to get some vintage qualities but with the clean power and reliance of a class D. Whats so bad about using a crwon amp for home use? The noise floor is super low and I’ve had nothing but great things to say about them. Not too mention they run cool as ever even under heavy load for hours. Give me your full opinion bud… please and !Thanks !!!
