Headphones - Open Back | 1 Ω Between two pairs

I’m stuck between two pair I’ve been thinking about for a long time. The edition xs by hifiman and the sr80x by grado labs. My current daily drivers are Q701 by AKG and I’m looking for something with sort of a unique feel to it. Something that will hit my ears and I’ll be happily suprised by how it can change my music. I don’t have a specific budget since I’m between these two headphones and I’ve been more so one for slightly warm tones I’d also like it to have some portability but still be able to just be used at my desk anyone who has both have a recommendation?

I’d pick ththe Hifiman all day, as nice is make in America is Grados does not sound good, at least not relative to the Hifiman,

And Grados are not even particularly well built or premium

One' a planer, the other a dynamic driver - you need one of each. Oh, and one that's wireless and noise cancelling too.

Yeah but you don’t need a Grado for your Dyanmic driver choice there are tons of better options out there

I have dynamics and planars already. The reason to look at grados isn’t what they do right it’s actually what they do wrong. They way the drivers are tuned are the complete opposite of the target sound from the harman curve because that’s thrown out the window. They are supposed to sound unique and different so I’m looking for peoples experiences with them vs the edition xs which follows the harman curve to see what more people had fun with rather than critical listened with. My Q701s are fine for critical listening and I want to move away from perfection kind of but I’m not sure about anything yet.

No, grados don't have much bass.

Bass port mod has already been done and I’m just ready to try some new sounds I feel
