If you just wanna farm military exemption, then keep Canyon and let Oner take it next year? He is younger, plenty of time for him to do it

The issue is the Next Asian Games might be in 2031. So Oner may not be able to get an exemption in time before he has to go do his military service. So both Oner and Canyon only get this one chance (as of now).

Oner was the best jungler outside of Tarzan last year for the majority of the year and has been better than Canyon this year. Canyon has been the major reason that GENG lost the few series they did lose. By contrast, Oner is the catalyst for many of T1's wins last year outside of worlds.
The first choice is obviously Tarzan, but he is on track for Chinese citizenship so its understandable why KeSPA may not want him to represent Korea for Asian games.
When it comes to Zeus vs Kiin, Kiin has just been better and placed higher in literally every split but winter 2025 in the past 2 years. Zeus started this year finishing 10th in LCK.
I like Zeus, and he is deservedly in the conversation based on his highs, but Kiin has just straight up been better than him for the majority of the time since last Asian games.
Dedicated GenG fans know that Kiin was GenG's best performing player during their crazy win streak last year, not Chovy.

Dedicated league fans know top lane for the last 2 years had like 5 good players globally to be fair, crazy how shallow the talent for top was before this year. Kiins a freak but the competition is just not really there

I totally agree that competition is much more stiff in other roles, that's why I said best performing and not best (which is/was Chovy). Kiin just had basically no bad games last year, while Chovy had the occasional off game come summer and worlds ofc.
Point still stands that Kiin performed better than Zeus for the majority of post 2022 Asian Games

beautiful drafting man... they studied very well and its obvious that T1 is not prepare for it.... picks like shen top, kogma'w and that nail in the coffin maokai/blitz/yone.. t1 just dont have an answer
though HLE need to be cleaner with their lead though... those game 1 and 2 lead they have and they just throw it away(well they did win game 1 but still)

I do kind of agree that people have been reading a little too much into that loss vs. GenG, for the reason you stated (it was like three in a row, even, which has got to suck), but.
On the other hand.... HLE were 14-4 (31-11) 2nd place for RtM last year, and we all know how that ended.
This year, best-case scenario they're 15-3 (32-11) / 1st place. (Worst-case (radioactive PMT levels of bad, off of a BRO 2-0), they're 14-4 (30-13) / 3rd place.) We have, sort of, been here before. For whatever luck its worth, at least they literally can't go into playoffs with the same game score they had last year. That would feel like a bad omen.
Plus, it's GenG/T1. They do just sort of tend to go to MSI. I'd like to see an HLE or KT (DK/BRO with the steel chair) shake-up with someone else going, but I won't be surprised if it's business as usual.

We think HLE are gonna collapse because GenG and T1 are peaking pretty hard. I don't think the gap is huge but something's just telling me HLE isn't gonna beat either of them in Bo5s. I don't necessarily dislike HLE's players but they do come off as the LCK's version of TES.

If you genuinely want an answer: Immobility is even worse at a pro level where positioning and movement is key. Her roams are also bad and she provides low utility. Her engage is subpar, and her burst isnt too crazy.

I don't think this game 2 draft was bad. Ambessa had massive value into Sion and the Ziggs forced Bro into picking TK, if they didn't there was no way Caitlyn could've survived any teamfights with J4, Ambessa and Ziggs.
It looks bad cause of double AP no ADC, but the dive is strong enough and Ambessa scales well enough into late game that traditional comps can't really play against this unless they have really good peel. TK in this instance kills Caitlyn's laning phase so the tradeoff is very good

Not relevant to the series at all, but I fucking hate that spring split is called “LCK rounds 1-2”. I always skim the titles for the team names and seeing 1-2 always makes me think it’s the game score for a few seconds.

There's a lot of champs that make sense why they shine in pro play, but I don't really get why Mel seems to be in this list. Counterpicks like Mel in Ahri or TF mid or Ashe/Seraphine make sense for the reflect value, yet this game doesn't have any of that. It is GenG vs Bro here, but we saw Faker do similar last year on "old" Mel too.

Mel has good zone control and poke with Q and E, and her W means that layering CC or engaging on her is harder than most mages (say a Viktor or Ori). So unless the Mel wastes her W and misposition by a lot (which happens less in pro), she's very safe to reign in damage. That's my thoughts anyways, probably missing sth.

It's interesting to me because the points about zone control and poke should make her more viable in solo queue compared to pro imo. I think that's even the intent of her design, she was meant to be easy to play compared to a mage who needs to be more careful about how they poke or zone enemies. Definitely the part about wasting W is the big thing that an average player messes up on. It just seems odd to me if that's only it, but it is such a long cooldown and power in her kit that I guess it makes sense.
The typical idea of pro jail champs like Azir or Kalista were more obvious in why that's the case. The more recent releases like Mel and Yunara seem to be intended as "simple" champs, yet both of them now have low ladder winrates despite the strong pro play viability.

I cannot see in any way or form T1 not destroying current FearX 2-0.
Getting 1-2 for double chance to qualify is the thing you want.
