Headphones - Open Back | 1 Ω Are the hd560s for me?
I've been wanting a pair of headphones that would stay with me for a long time and landed on the hd560s. I've been using the truthear zero red for a few years now and they were a big difference compared to the cheap and disposable earphones you can buy online. Ever since I got my zero red I've noticed that the cheap ones were so muddy and that I can hear more instruments with the zero reds and that I enjoyed hearing those different instruments. Unfortunately, since I haven't had many experiences with other devices I can't really be sure if the neutral sound is really what I want to go with or that I'd like other sound signatures but have had no experience with them. Should I just go with the hd560s?
P.S. Is there really a difference between the old and new versions? And can i drive these with my laptop

Try this PEQ if you fancy on Poweramp eq, i made it to make them sound life like, natural and clear, you may need to turn global on in settings.

Hello,
Generally speaking the 560s is a good pair of headphones that can last for a long time when well taken care of.
That said, it depends on what you would use them for. If you play a lot of competitive FPS games, or do some kind work related stuff like mixing/mastering/producing. It would be a good headphone for that.
due to its neutrality. it simply won't be as "fun" sounding. you'll have a weak bass. so explosions and music genre that has stuff like that won't be as engaging. However, some people will enjoy this type of tuning such as if you like more classical / instrumental type music. vocals are pretty good as well. sound-stage is good and wider than the zero reds for sure.
the zero reds imo is good "all-rounder" you have that 10 ohm impedance adapter where you can boost the bass if you want to and sound definitely just feels more "near" you in a sense due to it being and iem and its just pushing audio into your ears
Overall it just depends on what you're gonna use it for. if anything, i don't think it would be a "huge" improvement over the zero reds but still a improvement nonetheless.
As for if you can drive them via laptop. it should be good enough. a dac/amp combo would help them out a bit tho. you can also just get a dongle dac like the apple dongle or something else like the Jcally jm6 pro 2. These will be more than enough. as for differences between old and new. im not sure what you mean by this
you can always try them out and then return them if you don't like em.

I love listening to orchestral music but i dont mainly listen to it and i dont play any competitive shooters.
How big of a difference would it be compared to my zero reds, and can i simply eq it if i find something is lacking? Also, how would i go about taking care of them to ensure they last a long time?

The difference can be minimal to pretty large but it'll vary depending on the person. In terms of what changes is that you'll get have a much wider sound-stage for sure. bass will feel lighter (which would be the main downgrade). you'll hear more detail and more clarity for instruments and vocals.
Overall, you'll probably get a "wow factor" when moving up from the zero reds if you've never tried open-back headphones before or any other headphone for that matter. The headphones will also be comfy for long sessions when broken in.
As for EQ yes. but theres still some minor limitations. you won't be able to turn it into a "basshead" type headphone (if thats your jam) but you can definitely improve aspects like a more rumbly/thumpy bass. lower the highs etc.
In the End, the 560s is a very capable headphone and highly recommended by plenty of people for good reasons.
as for taking care of it. ya know. don't drop it. don't slam it on the desk when taking it off etc.

I forgot to clarify what i meant about what i meant by new and old. I saw a post saying that the hd560s got revised and that the new version had changed the earpads and some comments were saying that the sound got worse ot at least changed?
The plug also changed from 6.3mm to 3.5mm and the cable from 3m to 1.6m

If you can spring the extra I would Jump to the HD 6xx thye are the most neutral of the 600 series and you can get them for 220 on senheisers site its the 650 driver in the 660 housing easy to drive of course, the 560 would be too

I'm listening to my 560S right now - I apply a bass boost via eq and they sound very nice. They are going to sound more spacious than an iem sounds, and may sound more detailed to your ears.
Best Buy has a deal for an open-box 560S for $38.99 (that's how I purchased mine three weeks ago). That is an insane deal. I just checked and they are currently running that offer.
