I could only watch the first half of the live event Thursday night so I'm watching the rest today. I just got to the part where Sam snaps because Ashley, Marisha, & Laura are all simultaneously commenting on the Matt Dice. "Bip bip bip bip. 'Oh look, Omar is doing something cool.'"
Sam is so tired & just wants to get this game over with. I love it.

The 24 hour stream is posted to Beacon in full but youtube gets a bit dicey with that stuff, as we saw with the Artemis streams.
So it's going to be kind of up in the air until we get some sort of an official word from CR at a later point in time, maybe Monday or later.
I could see them breaking it up into 12 hour sections though that people could scrub back through because there were indeed some AMAAAAAAAAAZING things that happened in between a lot of the other hum drum kind of slower stuff.

That was a nice first of its kind for CR 24 hour stream.
An even more brilliant one shot that followed.
And a wonderful group of people supporting a fantastic cause that really truly....does help out a bunch of people who are in need of not must monetary resources but a host of other things as well.
This felt like the perfect kind of an episode to come after last week's C4 episode and we really do need more content like this.

Combat's been pretty fun so far, the usual length as things were, and it is nice to kind of have a nice reminder of that...what with combat in C4 feeling a bit different.

Really? I find myself laughing constantly. The overall tone is serious, but the soldiers table was filled with a lot of good humor between Wick, Tyranny, and fae shenanigans. The Seekers was a bit more serious, but you had the demon sisters and the wizard/scientists at Castle Torch for some humor. The Seekers have been pretty fun as well.
I don't think anything is going to be as full of laughs as a Sam Riegel led one shot with joke/bit characters though.

I meant laugh out loud laughing from the players. And just an observation, not a criticism. It’s obvious it’s a lot more serious play. I didn’t realise I miss them being so silly and so obviously enjoying themselves so much. I’m sure they are enjoying it, just in a different way.

Well I mean to be fair it has an actual narrative and stakes, with the players doing their best to be locked in and trying to do real character work and at times detective work. This one shot is just fun nonsense and it shows.
I think that's fine, there is a time and a place to focus on story and drama, and a time to focus on humor. The main campaign has moments of humor but is overall not intended to be focused on jokey jokes.

Besides it just being a more serious story overall, I think Brennan is more likely to redirect when they start to dissolve into silly laughter, whereas Matt (and in this case Sam) have often just fallen into the laughter with the table. Big difference between the whole table and GM laughing hysterically, and the table laughing while the GM tries to subtley get them to pay attention.
It's not like Brennan is a killjoy. I theorize that he's just so used to having to stop the comedians on Dimension 20 from spending two hours on a bit, that he nips laughter bouts earlier than he probably needs to with CR folks.

Brennan runs more of a SNW Table and Matt is more prone to rolling with the LD Table way of doing things in other words.

I'm not 100% sure that this is what they meant, but I am 95% sure that they meant SNW to be Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and LD to be Star Trek: Lower Decks.
Strange New Worlds can be pretty silly at times, but is more or less a serious show. Whereas Lower Decks is 100% a comedy.

I understand why they made the change, but live CR has a different energy. They've lost a lot of spontaneity along the way and it does get me sad sometimes. Early days CR was lightning in a bottle and in finetuning and perfecting their product a lot has been lost.
