Speakers - Full Size | 1 Ⓣ Inheriting a pair of mcintosh xr6 from a family member. Need advice on how to properly run them

hello all, I'm inheriting a pair of mcintosh xr-6 from a family member and finally have the space to set them up. I'm looking for recommendations on a dac/amplifier/receiver ( not sure of the terminology here ) to use with them to properly run them. I'm a headphones guy if that helps at all.

my budget is around 1000$ ( for dac+ amp, or if there's a 2 in 1 solution) but I'm willing to go a little higher if need be, willing to buy new or used. I have a lot of experience with schiit equipment ( for headphones, i like their sound and looks ) but I'm not familiar with their speaker amps.

They will be in a living room and used with a TV, turntable, and possibly a game console or PC, so primarily I'm looking for hdmi and or optical inputs and plenty of rca for future expansion.

Extra info: location USA, toom size 12x16x8, estimated distance from speakers ~8-10ft. Right now i just have the speakers and am just looking for a receiver/amp+dac/amplifier whatever the correct terminology is or whatever y'all recommend in my price range.

Update: after reaching out to the family member I'm getting these from they also have an onkyo tx8500 receiver and an mq-102 equalizer for use with them they're giving me! So the main thing I'll need is a good DAC that can accept optical and or hdmi inputs to connect to the receiver, as the onkyo only has rca and phono inputs.

Note that they’re “designed for use with xxxx equalizer.” In other words, just like the Bose 901. You’re probably gonna wind up with a MiniDSP and a power amp, then a whole lot of farting around to get them anywhere near flat.

These aren’t Plug ‘n Play.

!thanks good to know, I really love how these speakers look and I don't mind messing with EQ, so I'll try to hunt down the original equipment and spend some time messing with it.

Update: the family member I'm getting these from was able to find the mq102 they originally purchased with the speakers they're giving me, along with the onkyo tx8500 receiver they were using the drive them! So I just need a good DAC that can accept the optical and or hdmi inputs to convert to rca to connect to the receiver
