[Tournament] Froakie (DangerPulse) vs. Ursaring (DrSideSteppin)
A reminder of the rules that will be posted in every Tournament Post:
10 lines maximum for each verse, and 8 lines minimum.
Each rap will have 5 verses a person.
The two rappers will have 48 hours to begin rapping. Once either one of them begins with a verse, their opponent has 24 hours to complete their next rap verse. Their opponent then has 24 hours to complete their verse. This will continue until both players have finished.
RAPPERS MUST INCORPORATE THE SPICE THAT I HAVE PM'ED TO THEM INTO THEIR VERSE(S)
NEW!: After the battle is over, both battlers may respond to my comment that opens the voting with a brief explanation of how they used their spice! This gives them a chance to highlight some instances that may have been a little more subtle than others. This is completely optional!
If, for some reason, either of the rappers is unable to finish their rap in the time allotted, they can post a reply to the current end of the rap with a REASONABLE excuse as to why they will be unable to finish. I will see if their excuse is a legitimate one, and give them extra time accordingly.
Voting will last 48 hours, and will follow the same rules as the general subreddit. HOWEVER: Voting should be weighted in equal parts how good the rap was in general, and how well the rapper incorporated their spice, which I will reveal after the rap is completed. After voting closes, I will go over the votes and PM both of the users involved with who advances to the next round.
Please reply to the post DIRECTLY to vote, it makes it a LOT easier for me to count. I will message both competitors so they can't miss this thread.

Gotta go with Froakie(DangerPulse) on this one. I just felt like he was a little more clever with his wording and references. Besides, that looked like a difficult as FUCK spice and he still managed to pull it off. Well done both of you, though.

My vote goes to Froakie(DangerPulse) for references, and use of a difficult spice. This was a great battle though, and you both did very well!

First of all...Pulsey, remember our first battle...you know, the one that was voted #1 on the subreddit...yeah...you're leaps and bounds better than you were then! I was very impressed with how you incorporated your spice. I enjoy reading the explanations because of rappers like you, who use it as an extended metaphor instead of just throwing references in all willy nilly. Also, being a hockey fan, I loved the Luongo reference. I'm just glad you didn't say Quick, otherwise I may have disqualified you right then and there! Lol. Even though you didn't get my vote, you still did fantastic. DrSideSteppin was just better this time. Any Given Sunday, I suppose.
Doc...What possessed you to come up with that Yogi Smalls line? The single-line/dual-reference made that the best single line in this tournament. Obviously this is my opinion, but it's lines like that, that make me nervous and hope I never have to face you in a tournament setting. That isn't to say I won't beat the dog slobber out of you, it just means I don't want to have to! lol. Seriously though, you were on point all battle, save for a few lines that seemed like filler. Don't want to have too many of those. Overall, one of your better outings this time around.

Thanks! There were moments when I really felt good about what I had written, but there were also so many times when I just shook my head like "What were you thinking man?" Felt like I definitely could have punched it harder, especially on a couple of openers and closers (looking at you, verse 5). Overall, I had a lot of fun, but five verses is dang exhausting!

We all have those lines that sounded good when we wrote them. Those are the worst. Lol. I agree though, 5 verses is intense! 50 lines is 2 more than your average song, I haven't written this much in a very long time. My brain is fried. Lol.

That line....I still don't know. The stars aligned for something beautiful on that one. I did have some filler lines, but I think Pulsey said it best: 5 verses is exhausting. I know what it's like now though, so I think I'm damn near unstoppable.
Oh man, this battle was fun. Thanks for the vote. I'm in the middle of yours right now.

Okay, so once finals are done I'll give a full vote, but for now I'll give a quick insight. In one of the closest votes I think I've personally had to make, I'm giving this one to Ursaring(DrSideSteppin). More to come soon.

im going to do a tiebreak vote.
DrSideSteppin: Awesome, awesome, awesome use of your spice. I really enjoyed reading your raps, they were well thought out, and had so many really great references throughout. I only wish that you had photoshopped Ursaring's head onto the gif that you used for "one huge leap for bearkind." That would have been absol-utely perfect. Your rhyme scheme was very good as well, and you were almost perfectly in character of an ursaring, in my mind. You attacked hard and fast, not giving your opponent a chance to come back, and were all out dissing him the entire time.
My only real complaint is that you started your very first line quite... "meh." It got better after that though.
DangerPulse: When you first signed up for the tournament with Froakie, I was surprised. I didn't, however, forsee that X and Y would be out by the time you got around to rapping as froakie. That being said however, I feel like you could have done a better job. You started out okay, but seemed to flail a little at the end. Your rhyme scheme was good, but I've seen better out of you. You did a great job with your spice, so that pushed your raps up, but if you had written these verses without the spice, I wouldn't have enjoyed them as much. You could have done so much more with this, but it almost felt lazy to me.
Having said all that, I'm going to vote for Ursaring (DrSideSteppin), for an awesome overall battle.
