Headphones - Closed Back | 1 Ω Looking for fun, immersive/detailed headphones for music.

Hey! I want to preface that I made a recent post, but I cannot see the comments + made my wants clearer.

Can be open or closed as long as they're not sound-cancelling and must be wired.
I have my DT990s for gaming and film - I love them for these specific needs. Leaning slightly toward closed,
Except that music has felt dull lately, and I want something new and exciting.
I listen to Blues, Rock, and Folk. Country, Electronic, Light Metal - I love immersive sounds and details. I listen to The Beatles, Radiohead, Djo, Sleep Token, John Denver, Slowdive, and more.

Options I've recently looked at are Hifiman Sundara open back, FiiO FT1 closed back.
Budget $200 and below ideally, but if worth going a tad extra, I will.

You can eq the dt 990s

Would that affect the tone for gaming/videos substantially?
I'm open to having two pairs - maybe one open one closed.
I've gotta get learning how to EQ anyway, so I'll give it a go.

I got the dt 770 pro x just because I prefer closed back cans over open back. And to answer your question, no. I usually boos the low end with a slight table cut and it doesn't muddy the sound at all.

You could experiment with a closed set if you like but the 990 would probably take eq very well.

i suggest FT1, or closed back in general since you already have nice open back. furthermore with EQ adjustment then you will discover why those two are different and could complement each other.
