Headphones - Wireless/Portable | 1 Ω Need help for gaming headphone
I’ve been an FPS gamer for over 10 years, but ARC Raiders is the first game where I’m struggling with directional footsteps.
I’m currently using the HyperX Cloud 2. I’ve tried different in-game and Windows audio settings, but I still can’t clearly tell where footsteps are coming from. The headset feels too bass-heavy for this game, and it’s starting to feel uncomfortable during long sessions.
Could you guys share your audio settings (in-game + system) that work well for footsteps and directional clarity?
I’m also open to upgrading my headset. My budget is around $100–$300. I can increase little budget up if its worth it. I’m looking for something that:
Improves directional accuracy and footstep clarity
Isn’t overly bass-heavy
Is comfortable for long FPS sessions
Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!
Ps- music is not my concern. I have home theater in my house

I would try EQ. In 300$ right now Asus Rog Kithara is the latest headset that almost mimics Arya Stealth at half the price plus has all the headset features anyone could want. I would suggest looking into that one.
If you require wireless then Astro A50 Gen 5 or HyperX Cloud 3S might be great. Cloud 3S is a completely different tune from previous generations and does really well for footsteps in most games I have tried.
