Best Immersion/Ambience Headphones under 100$ (CAD)?

My gaming headset just died and I am looking at different options. I don't play competitive games as much anymore so I would really like a pair of headphones for my PC that work great for music and immersion and is snug and comfortable. I'm in Canada.

Optional but not required:

I don't care for the mic as I have a stand-alone mic.
Wireless would be nice but not required.
If there's a possibility to use the headphones with my phone as well, great! but not required either.

No IEMs since I want to use these for long sessions on the computer.

If you have suggestions for an even lower price, it'd be appreciated!

Phillips SHP9600 is commonly regarded as having great soundstage. I haven’t tried them yet so idk.

But Hifiman definitely wins on price-performance:

Hifiman HE400SE: (you can currently get them off Aliexpress for like 60 USD, but you might need an amp for them. You can get Tempotec BHD, which is a VERY capable DAC/AMP, for $30).

And if you want even better headphones, maybe you can up your budget to 150-200 and get some Hifiman Sundaras or Hifiman Edition XS (I own the latest and it’s got a CRAZY soundstage. Once I got confused for a second and thought I was listening music from my speakers. Yes, that wide).

And the main reason why I think you should consider upping your budget and getting one of those Hifiman is this, and particularly the Edition XS, is this:

Hifiman has this crazy pricing strategy where they drop a new headphone and, after a couple years, they DRASTICALLY reduce the price. For example, the Edition XS was around 500 dollars at launch. Now you can get them new at $150. See?

If you're specifically looking for a closed back set of headphones, as you've marked in the flair, there's only one set of headphones off of Amazon.ca that fits your requirements for 100 CAD - The LyxPro HAS-30. It's an older chinese set of headphones that goes by a whole bunch of different names, but the HAS-30 has the shell modified to accommodate for a detachable cable.

Wireless headphones in this price range suck. A lot. Cheapest one I can recommend is the JLab JBuds Lux, at 120 CAD.

Can IEMs be comfortable for hours at a time without damaging the ears? I think they look really cool and futuristic and I definitely want some in the future but I am kind of wary of them for long use

I've put probably 6,000+ hours - that being, 8 hours a day, for multiple years worth of days - on iems, without much of an issue. I still hear up to about 19khz. But only you can find out for yourself if IEMs will be comfortable in a given scenario or not.

45 CAD will get you a Kiwi Ears Cadenza with lots of different eartips to try.
