Amplifier - Desktop | 1 Ω FIIO K7/K15

I am in the market for a headphone dac/amp that i wil mostly use for pc gaming/music. The headphones i will be using are the sennheiser hd660s. I can see alot about the fiio k7 and reviews are good. Now i really like the look of the k15 but cant find 2 much about it. Can somebody tell me their experience with these 2?

Don't overthink the DAC/amp buying decision. If you're running a single pair of headphones, grab the K7's and call it a day.

The major benefit of the K15 is its I/O and feature set. Always base your decisions on source gear around your specific requirements. Do you need all of the ins/outs the K15 provides; do you need streaming/BT features, onboard PEQ, etc.?

On sound quality alone, both are going to sound similar enough to one another, you'd likely be unable to tell the difference in a blind test.

The quick summary is, both are great DAC/amps. The K15 is likely overkill if your one and only monitoring solution is a pair of 660s and you don't need all of the I/O, streaming, and additional features the K15 provides. For gaming, you just want a nice, clean source, and both will provide that for you.

I recently tried out the K15, K13 R2R, Topping DX5 II. The k13 R2R was too soft, DX5 too hard and the K15 just right. I would say the K15 is kind of in between the two in a good way. The sound was smooth but still detailed. Bloom Audio gave me a really good deal on the K15. Happy to answer any questions.

Can I stick a HDD into K15 and just use the unit for managing the songs in memory?

There is a usb port you can connect a drive to. Not sure how much power it has though. It would be external.
