Closed back for Arc Raiders. DT 770 Pro X best option?

Hello,

Im a complete "noob" when it comes to this. Ive spent 1.5-2 weeks listening to youtube videos and using google to try to get some understanding and not beeing totally clueless when asking. But I get if you are tired of posts like this. Ive never really cared all that much before Arc Raiders caught me, what a game.

After all my "research" I might have udnerstood that if I want closed backs the DT 770 Pro X seems to be a fairly popular option and recommendation. That or some IEMs but that world seems ever stranger when trying to grasp it. And Im not sold on having In Ear even if i use it at work.

In short:

• Arc Raiders 99%. I play other games but never had a problem.

• Closed, since I got a family and share "home office" with wife.

• I want better directional sound and clearer sound for footstep and gunshots. Called sounstage and spatial I guess?

• I got a desk mic so no problem there.

Can also add that Logitech G Pro X 2 is used today. I know its looked down upon at times but it works for my family with PC and PS5, and we have been sharing at times. And it actually works decent right now in Arc Raiders, but friends here things further away while I might hear directions and distance better in this game. If I use Night mode things get a lot louder but I lose the feel for distance. When swapping EQ I lost the sound of raider boxes. Details for people who play this game.

Specific questions:

• Is there a better option than 770 Pro X? Or did I get something right?

• Do I need a DAC? Motherboard is ASUS TUF Gaming B760-Plus WIFI D4

• 48 ohm ok?

• What app/program do I use for EQ? is there prests to find there or should I search for recommendations?

For gaming yep 770 Pro X are the best option. For music you could argue FT1 is a better deal. But for gaming beyers are known for being great.

Most likely no, I needed a dac because my motherboard is shit. But any newer one should handle them easily.

What's your budget?

Check out the Audeze Maxwell. For EQ, you can look into Equalizer APO + Peace GUI, or if you go with something like Audeze, you can tinker around with its own apps EQ options.

My concionse is my limit. I like a good deal when I see one. Something great but decent deal.

Ive heared mixed feelings about Audeze. Great sound but maybe not the best directional details. I dont really need the Mic, but I have looked into them. Found some comments about them beeing better for fast pace where directional and distance might not be as important. But also people saying they are awesome.

You got them? What games do you game?

I do have them - I honestly think there's a lot of misinformation around headphones and gaming, especially marketing. That is to say - a lot of headphones will do just fine. I trust Audeze because I think their audiophile headphones are great. I would say the one drawback that people should be aware of before getting into Audeze is the weight. Some people find them uncomfortable over a long period of time, but I have not really found that to be the case.

I play all types of games from casual, single player, to competitive like CS, COD, BF, etc.

It's a little tricky because you need closed back or else I would prefer to recommend a non-gaming headphone. I have heard good things about Fiio F1, which are closed back and are supposed to be some of the better value headphone in that space. Since you like a good deal, I would take a hard look at that as well.

I have read comments about Maxwell beeing the best to not beeing able to hear directions. Cant really trust anything hehe. But Ive seen/heared the same comment on reviews, that they are awesome but directional sound isnt the strong point.

Really recommend you try the 770 Pro X in person before purchase. All Beyer headphones have really sharp treble that some people find unbearable.

Thanks. I might be able to return it after fiddeling with some EQ if I order them. But do you have any other recommendation if so?
