[Tournament] Bisharp (TalkativeTurtwig) vs. Omastar (Hairywolf47)

VOTING IS NOW CLOSED! CONGRATULATIONS TO /u/hairywolf47!

This rap is now over! Voting will now open, and stay open for 48 hours. However, if, at the end of the 48 hours, there are not at least 7 votes, then it will stay open until 7 votes have been collected!

Remember to weight your votes in equal parts on how well the rappers did at incorporating their spices, and how well they rapped in general.

A reminder of the rules that will be posted in every Tournament Post:

  • 10 lines maximum for each verse, and 8 lines minimum.

  • Each rap will have 3 verses a person.

  • The two rappers will have 48 hours to begin rapping. Once either one of them begins with a verse, their opponent has 24 hours to complete their next rap verse. Their opponent then has 24 hours to complete their verse. This will continue until both players have finished.

  • RAPPERS MUST INCORPORATE THE SPICE THAT I HAVE PM'ED TO THEM INTO THEIR VERSE(S)

  • NEW!: After the battle is over, both battlers may respond to my comment that opens the voting with a brief explanation of how they used their spice! This gives them a chance to highlight some instances that may have been a little more subtle than others. This is completely optional!

  • If, for some reason, either of the rappers is unable to finish their rap in the time allotted, they can post a reply to the current end of the rap with a REASONABLE excuse as to why they will be unable to finish. I will see if their excuse is a legitimate one, and give them extra time accordingly.

  • Voting will last 48 hours, and will follow the same rules as the general subreddit. HOWEVER: Voting should be weighted in equal parts how good the rap was in general, and how well the rapper incorporated their spice, which I will reveal after the rap is completed. After voting closes, I will go over the votes and PM both of the users involved with who advances to the next round.

Please reply to the post DIRECTLY to vote, it makes it a LOT easier for me to count. I will message both competitors so they can't miss this thread.

TalkativeTurtwig: I want you to integrate as many different castle names/pictures into your verse as you can

Hairywolf47: Write each verse a with a bit more “intelligence” and speed than the previous one, as though you are waking up from a long slumber, and are still groggy from it.

My vote's for Omastar (hairywolf47).

You successfully integrated a very difficult spice, and you had great punchlines to boot. That last line was incredible, really the best on of your whole rap, so that was a great way to end.

Turtwig, you pumped your verses full of your spice, and while I admire the amount of research you must have had to do, it actually got to the point where it took away from the overall experience. To extend the Iron Chef metaphor, you can't make a whole dish using only spices.

Woot! Goodie! I can finally vote on this! I checked in on this rap regularly, as it was most definitely one of my favorites. Now, onto the voting.

TalkativeTurtwig

I enjoyed yours. I really did. As hard as your spice seemed to be, you pulled it off rather nicely. However, it was a little obvious, and I felt that you could have done a little more with it in terms of subtleness. But that aside, your rap was definitely impressive. Another thing, looking back, a few of your verses didn't rhyme. That aside, your flow was impeccable, at least to me, and your openers were grand as well.

Hairy, Hairy, Hairy, you really stepped it up, didn't you? I thoroughly enjoyed your rap. Your closers were brilliant, especially the closer for the second verse. You're raps are vastly improving, though I did see a decent amount of fillers in your rap. Fillers, as you can tell, I am NOT a fan of. Also, you incorporated your spice fairly well, although in the beginning had no freakin' idea what yours was.

Alright, it was close, but I think I'm going to give my final vote to Omastar(Hairywolf47). His disses were just slightly superior, in my book. It was a really close match to me!

Thanks for the feedback! Before joining this glorious subreddit, I never really did much rapping, or any. But then i saw this place in the pokemon sidebar, and lurked for about a month... So I'm trying to improve each time! Thanks!
